I want an explanation

Qin Yan lifted her head and looked at Xi Ting who was standing by her without hesitation.

The people on the other side were still chattering endlessly and saying, "But we really saw it, Young Master Xi."

"That's right, Young Master Xi. It was really Qin Yan who pushed Miss Mianmian."

"You can't just ignore the evidence."

Xi Ting's eyes penetrated the people speaking on the other side, "I don't want to look at the evidence. So what about it?"

"…"

Xi Ting said domineeringly, "I trust my woman. She would definitely not do something like this. I believe if she chooses to push someone over, she must have a reason for it."

He held on to Qin Yan tightly, "So if Qin Yan really pushed someone, what about it?"

The faces of the onlooking crowd were filled with shock. This Young Master Xi was just too tyrannical. He was also simply too protective of his own woman. He didn't even have any respect for the Nie family.

Nei Mianmian looked at Xi Ting. She never thought that he would be so upfront and say these.

Xi Ting's eyes darkened and swept over the crowd, "What's wrong? Do you guys still plan to do anything to Qin Yan? What are you guys intending to do to Qin Yan?"

Everyone looked at each other. Yet, who would really dare to do anything to Qin Yan?

Nobody would dare to, and could not, really do anything to Qin Yan. Especially not after Xi Ting said that. How could anyone do anything with how Xi Ting protected her?

Everyone was only a little resentful. They thought that he was a little too disrespectful, too tyrannical, and presumptuous. He still stood by Qin Yan's side even though Nei Mianmian was getting bullied.

But they only dared to curse silently and none of them dared to say it out loud. Although everyone all thought that Xi Ting was very presumptuous, none of them dared to voice it out.

But it was clear now that Xi Ting indeed had the grounds to be so presumptuous.

Qin Yan looked gratefully at Xi Ting, lifting her head up to gaze at him with love. He actually protected her like this in front of so many people. At that moment, she felt extremely touched.

No one had ever treated her this way. Nobody had ever chosen to believe her without hesitation and chosen to stand by her side to protect her.

But the man in front of her actually did it. Xi Ting's attitude instantly eradicated all her suffering and frustration caused by their accusations. Qin Yan also didn't care what these people thought about her. All she cared about was that her moonpie stood by her side.

So, whatever these people thought of didn't matter anymore. The person she cared most about remained at her side.

However, nobody was happy at Xi Ting's tyranny. Everybody felt that Xi Ting was being too much. Nobody said it loud but it was evident from their faces.

As everyone was being resentful of Xi Ting's actions, a sound came out of nowhere..

"The horse couldn't knock down one person."

"Miss, I tried, but Young Master Xi was too close to her. I couldn't avoid him."

"Then, you should have gone ahead and hit them. What were you afraid of?"

"I was afraid of how the Nei family was going to answer if we hit Young Master Xi."

"You would not have been able to hit Xi Ting. Who do you think Xi Ting is? Would he be so easily knocked over by someone else? He would have dodged it for sure. Now, look what you've done. We were so close, so very close to trampling that little slut."

"Get rid of the horse and make sure that there are no traces left behind."

"Yes, Miss."

Everybody recognised Nei Mianmian's voice in the audio recording. They looked at Nei Mianmian in shock. Miss Mianmian tried to kill Qin Yan! It was too difficult for them to digest this fact.

The people around Nei Mianmian shifted back a little so as to create a distance between them. On the other hand, Nei Yehai's face was full of shock. He couldn't believe that his little sister could do this. However, he couldn't deny the evidence.

The recording in Qin Yan's phone turned Xi Ting's face frosty. He exuded extremely cold air which made people around him shiver. Nei Mianmian's eyes were wide open as she didn't expect Qin Yan to record everything.

Meanwhile the recording continued..

"Qin Yan, what are you doing?"

"I'm taking a walk."

"Oh, taking a walk. Did you happen to hear anything just now?"

"Sorry, what are you talking about?"

"No matter what you heard, I'll see if you have the guts to tell Xi Ting about this. Qin Yan, let me tell you this. You better understand this clearly. The Xi family would not make enemies with the Nie family because of you. Regardless of what you've heard, do you think that Xi Ting would dare do anything to me just because of a mere person like you?"

"I don't understand what you are talking about. But… I've been out for far too long. I should get ready to head back."

The recording then comprised some sounds of struggle between the two ladies.

"You little slut! How dare you hit me? How dare you retaliate? Who do you think you are?"

"You were the one who started it first. Why shouldn't I retaliate?"

After some struggling, a splash was heard. Qin Yan stopped the recording here. It was now clear what had actually happened.

The people who had supported Nei Mianmian by speaking against Qin Yan felt as if their faces were slapped hard. Nei Yehai's expression turned from shock to disappointment. He was extremely disappointed in his little sister.

Meanwhile, Xi Ting looked at Nei Mianmian coldly. When Nei Mianmian met his gaze, she shivered involuntarily. Xi Ting looked at her as if he wanted to kill her.

"Ah Ting..." Nei Mianmian called out.

"We are no longer friends anymore," Xi Ting uttered before turning to Nei Yehai, "I think you owe me an explanation."

Nei Yehai nodded. It was his sister's fault and the crime was committed in their territory. It was not wrong for Xi Ting to treat them coldly. He was instead thankful that Xi Ting didn't go on rampage and did not hold the whole Nei family responsible for Nei Mianmian's actions.

Xi Ting then put an arm around Qin Yan's shoulder and took her away. Nei Mianmian was furious. She watched the two of them leave and could only feel outraged. She almost wanted to explode.

Remembering that she was still surrounded by people, she forced herself to suppress her anger.

Nei Yehai also left after that. He turned back to look at Nei Mianmian, shook his head, and didn't say anything else.

She caused this on her own. She knew that the Nei family couldn't possibly go against Xi Ting over such a trivial matter. Xi Ting's temper was always bad too and he was not the one to be trifled with. Yet, she still sought her own death.

Everyone around Nei Mianmian left one by one. They had to revaluate their relationship with Nei Mianmian. Who knew if her next target would be you? She was crazy with jealousy.

Some smart people chose to stay away from her as they knew that if they were in Qin Yan's position, there would be no one to protect them. They didn't have Young Master Xi behind them.

While some stupid people still chose to support Nei Mianmian in order to curry favour from Nei family.

"Forget it, Mianmian. That Qin Yan is really a thorn in the flesh. It's all that woman's fault for not knowing her boundaries and seducing Young Master Xi."

"Yes, but don't worry. Young Master Xi is such an intelligent person. He'll come around sooner or later. Miss Mianmian, that woman can't compare to you. Don't be angry. It's not worth getting upset over such a person."

These people watched everyone leave and since the others wouldn't be able to hear anything, they quickly spoke in front of Nie Mianmian.

They really looked down on that woman. No matter how she was, she couldn't compare to Nei Mianmian who was pretty and came from a wealthy family with might and power. However, she was still Young Master Xi's woman and they didn't dare to say such things in front of him.

But now, it didn't matter.

Hearing so many people comfort her and thinking that they made sense, Nei Mianmian then forced herself to nod her head. She looked at these people, secretly thinking that none of them could ever compare to Xi Ting.2

However, all these people were men and they liked her very much. This proved that Xi Ting didn't have any reason not to like her. She was still a popular and charming woman.

Everyone knew that what Nei Mianmian did was common in big families. Many ladies had done such things with their husbands' mistresses. One day you would find the mistress shopping from their money and the next day, they would vanish in thin air.
