It was only normal to be jealous after seeing such photos and videos without getting the full picture.

If Xi Ting didn't mind it at all, then something was really wrong. He was only acting this way because she meant something to him. He could've chosen to pretend nothing happened, but how?

If he was in such a rumor with Nei Mianmian, with photos and videos attached, could she be completely calm and rational about it?

She thought about it seriously and felt that she couldn't, either.

Since she couldn't achieve it herself, how could she expect that of Xi Ting?

Qin Yan sighed and looked at her man a little helplessly, "The photos you see are real, but the meaning that is portrayed by the angle of the photos is misleading. "I rejected him. Everyone present saw that. I just have no idea why the person shot such misleading angles and sent it to you. Young Master Nei was there too, you can ask him if you don't believe me."

Qin Yan thought, Fortunately, Nei Yehai was around. He could at least clarify things with this jealous lover.

"Nei Yehai was there too?" Xi Ting's eyes glistened a little. He finally spoke.

"Yup, he happened to be there too. He should be clear about what happened just now. And, do you still not believe me? Ah Ting, don't be so suspicious of me. I'm already committed to you, so I won't do anything to let you down."

Xi Ting actually never suspected that Qin Yan would really get together with Xi Yaohua. He was in such a bad mood and feeling so annoyed simply because he detested Xi Yaohua too much.

"Cookie, I'm not suspecting you. I just… don't like seeing you with him," Xi Ting felt a lot better after hearing Qin Yan's explanation.

The pressurizing aura around him was gone too. The warmth was restored in his eyes. His eyes were no longer icy cold. The expression in his eyes was now what she was familiar with.

Qin Yan was much more relieved now. She felt that the Xi Ting she knew was back. He had really scared her just now.

She bit her lip and looked at him a little sadly, "Xi Ting, you were so fierce just now. You scared me. Your face was so cold that I almost couldn't take it."

"I'm sorry, Baby."

He couldn't control his mood when the jealousy surged inside him. Now that he had returned to normal, he realized that he'd gone overboard and scared her.

"Forgive me, alright?" Xi Ting hugged Qin Yan tightly and sighed, "I don't want to mind it, but I really can't. Seeing any man with you makes me uncomfortable."

"Alright, I get it," Qin Yan covered Xi Ting's mouth, "I'm not angry. I just don't like the you from just now. You make me feel like… you're so foreign. It scares me. So, no matter what happens in the future, don't give me that look, alright?"

Xi Ting cupped her face in his hands and kissed her on the forehead, "I promise you, I won't do that again."

Now that this had been clarified, the short-lived unhappiness was over. 

Xi Ting looked through the last two documents with Qin Yan on his lap and then shut his laptop.

He called Tong Chunian into the office. Tong Chunian opened the door and saw the woman sitting on Chairman Xi's lap behind the desk. He paused for a moment before walking towards them. 

Chairman Xi was no longer like before. He had changed. He was now hopelessly in love with the lady boss. Even at work, he couldn't take himself away from her. Love was a scary thing. It could change someone so drastically.

If he hadn't seen it for himself, he never would have believed that this cold and aloof boss who once viewed women as poison would become like this someday…

He was so engrossed in his wife during office hours.

Tong Chunian felt like this sort of man, who'd gone their whole lives being disinterested in women, had a much stronger and scarier reaction after touching women than normal men did.

Chairman Xi was the best example. Men like this were the most clingy once they got into a relationship.

"Ahem, Chairman Xi, Lady boss," Tong Chunian didn't want to look directly at them. He was a single man witnessing such an intimate scene.

Xi Ting saw how awkward he looked and felt like kicking him out of the office. But considering that this lad was still rather useful and reliable, he resisted it. 

"Check something out," Xi Ting glanced at the woman on his lap and decided to find out who was the one who wanted to mess with their relationship. He said seriously, "Find out who sent these photos to me."

Tong Chunian replied, "… Yes, Chairman Xi."

"Alright, get on to it," Xi Ting waved him away.

Tong Chunian knew that Chairman Xi despised his presence. He was an extra in the office that Chairman Xi couldn't tolerate, as long as Lady boss was around. He left, slightly upset but very self-aware.

Once he left.

Qin Yan looked at Xi Ting and asked, "You're going to help me find out who did this to me?"

"Of course."

Xi Ting looked down at her and said a little coldly, "Someone is trying to sow discord between the two of us, am I supposed to sit back and just watch? I can't possibly let you think that you have a useless boyfriend."

"As my girlfriend, you can get me to help you settle anything. Just one word from you and I'll do it."

The man ruffled her hair, his eyes full of affection. Just a word from her, and he was willing to do anything. She had no idea how much she meant to him. At this moment, Qin Yan was truly touched. She felt all warm and fuzzy inside.

Xi Ting then picked up the phone and called Tong Chunian's phone.

"Yes, Chairman Xi."

"Don't I have another dinner appointment tonight? Postpone it for me to a day that I'm free."

Tong Chunian was left speechless. He knew this was the case. With Lady boss around, Chairman Xi didn't have the heart for socializing whatsoever. The power of love and beauty indeed!

"Yes, Chairman Xi. I'll get to it right away."

What else was he to do with this boss of his, who was already too distracted from his work?

Xi Ting glanced at his watch and then shut his laptop, "Alright, that's all for now. You can leave work now."

With that, Xi Ting hung up the call. He then stood up with Qin Yan in his arms, "Baby, what would you like to eat for dinner?"

Qin Yan smiled and said casually, "Hot pot? Do you dare go with me?"

Xi Ting's brows furrowed for a bit when he heard the words 'hot pot.' But he nodded anyway and said, "Sure."

Qin Yan caught that split moment of his reaction and tried to stifle her laughter, "You really want to accompany me for that? You don't have to force yourself, you know. I can go with Jian Jian another day."

"I'm not forcing myself," Xi Ting pinched Qin Yan's cheek lightly, "You have a boyfriend, you don't always have to look for your friend to accompany you. I feel like I'm still not as important as Yun Jian in your heart."

The man sounded a little aggrieved in the second half of the sentence. 

Qin Yan was speechless. Oh no, was he… jealous of Yun Jian now?

She would understand if he was jealous of some other man. After all, there was some rivalry between those of the same gender.

But, to be jealous of a woman? Gosh, this man was getting too much.

Leaving the Xi Corporation.

They eventually decided to go to a French restaurant.1

The Xi Corporation was in the heart of the city, and so was the restaurant. It took roughly 10 minutes to get there.

Classical French melodies float through the air, creating a romantic atmosphere.

As Qin Yan and Xi Ting stepped through the ornate double doors, they were greeted by the melodic strains of a live piano, filling the space with gentle melodies. The maître d' warmly welcomed them, his crisp attire and courteous demeanor reflecting the restaurant's commitment to impeccable service.
