Qin Yan couldn't stay in the Xi family anymore. The old lady was completely charmed by her now. She was completely on her side. This was a very bad sign.

If she didn't think of a way to chase her away from the Xi family, Madam Xi was afraid that in the future, she would make use of the Old Madam's liking to cause all sorts of trouble, causing a good family to be in a foul mood and causing the Xi family to no longer have peaceful days.

The next day.

As the sun painted the room in warm hues, Qin Yan stirred from her slumber. Sunlight danced on her peaceful face, casting a gentle glow. As her eyes fluttered open, she reached out instinctively, expecting to find Xi Ting beside her. But the space next to her was empty, sheets cool to the touch.

She got out of bed, washed up, got ready for her college and went downstairs with her bag.

"Good morning, Miss Qin," Butler Lin greeted her respectfully when he saw her, "Miss Qin, do you want to have breakfast now? I'll get the kitchen to prepare it."

Qin Yan nodded and slowly walked towards the dining room.

A few minutes after she sat down at the dining table, the servant brought breakfast over.

Even though she was the only one eating, the breakfast was still sumptuous. There were fruits, desserts, Chinese and Western dishes.

While eating, she asked Butler Lin, "Has Ah Ting been at the company for a long time? When did he leave?"

Butler Lin bowed slightly and said, "Young Master woke up very early. He has been gone for more than an hour."

More than an hour?

Qin Yan looked at the time and felt that it wasn't easy for Xi Ting. Even though he was the boss, he had to work so hard. 

"Is there anything else you want, Miss Qin?" Butler Lin asked.

"No," Qin Yan shook her head, "Has Xiaobao left for the school?"

"Yes, little master departed just half an hour ago."

"Did he eat properly? Had Auntie He prepared his lunch box?" Qin Yan inquired.

"Yes, Miss Qin, do not worry. The little master had a sumptuous breakfast and he carried his lunch box as well."

Qin Yan nodded. Every day she ensured that the little guy is having his meals properly but since she woke up late today than usual, she had to inquire everything from the butler. Only after knowing that everything went fine did she heave a sigh of relief. 

After having her breakfast, Qin Yan looked at the time. She realized that if she didn't leave immediately, she would be late for her class. She hurriedly summoned a taxi to her doorstep and left for the university.

Half an hour later, the taxi stopped in front of the campus gate. As Qin Yan stepped out of the taxi, her eyes caught the sight of Zhuang Yu, walking into the campus just a few steps away. Their gazes met, and a warm smile spread across Qin Yan's face. Zhuang Yu mirrored the expression and made her way towards Qin Yan. 

"Good morning, Qin Yan!" Zhuang Yu greeted cheerfully, "What a pleasant surprise to see you here."

Qin Yan's voice was calm as she replied, "Good morning, Zhuang Yu! It's great to see you too. Are you heading to the lab as well?"

Zhuang Yu nodded, her eyes sparkling, "Yes, I am excited for today's practicals."

As the sun cast its warm rays upon the campus, Qin Yan and Zhuang Yu walked in tandem towards the anatomy lab. The air crackled with anticipation as the duo entered the lab where the other students had already arrived.

Cadavers were meticulously arranged on lab tables, awaiting the students' meticulous examination. The air was buzzing with excitement as the students prepared for the demanding dissection task. 

Professor Li, the esteemed anatomy instructor, addressed the eager students, telling them about the procedure. He then divided them into groups with two students given a single cadaver to dissect. Since the groups were according to first names, Qin Yan and Zhuang Yu were in one group.

Without wasting a moment, Qin Yan and Zhuang Yu donned their lab coats and their gloves. Without hesitation, both of them dove into the task at hand, their movements precise and synchronized. Their deep understanding of human anatomy allowed them to identify structures effortlessly, discuss their functions, and navigate delicate dissections with unwavering precision.

Qin Yan possessed a keen eye for detail, spotting even the most subtle anatomical features, while Zhuang Yu's calm demeanor and focused approach ensured their progress remained uninterrupted. 

Communication flowed effortlessly between them. They exchanged ideas, shared insights, and challenged each other's perspectives, all in the pursuit of deeper understanding. Whenever one encountered an obstacle, the other was quick to offer support and guidance.

By the end of the lab session, Qin Yan and Zhuang Yu had successfully completed the dissection, leaving the professor thoroughly impressed. 

The professor praised the duo wholeheartedly, "Qin Yan and Zhuang Yu, your teamwork and exceptional knowledge truly set you apart. You have demonstrated not only your individual abilities but also the power of collaboration. Well done!"

Qin Yan and Zhuang Yu exchanged triumphant smiles. 

After cleaning up their work area, they stepped out of the anatomy lab. Both of them discussed the practical session. Qin Yan already knew everything but she still had to pretend that she was still learning. So, whenever Zhuang Yu asked any questions, Qin Yan would reply to them but she would pose some questions to Zhuang Yu as well. This way, their discussions were going well.

"Qin Yan, should we grab a coffee now? Or you have to leave?" Zhuang Yu asked Qin Yan as she wanted to spend some more time with her.

Qin Yan looked at her watch and realized that she could spare some time. So she replied affirmatively.

"Okay then, let's go to the coffee shop outside our campus," Zhuang Yu said excitedly.

"Okay!"

As the duo walked into the coffee shop, the comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee enveloped them. The sound of friendly chatter and soft music created a pleasant ambiance, providing a welcome respite.

The shop had a cozy and unpretentious atmosphere, with reasonable prices that suited the modest budgets of students. 

Qin Yan and Zhuang Yu approached the counter, scanning the menu that adorned the wall behind it. They were greeted by a friendly barista, who wore a warm smile and seemed genuinely passionate about their craft.

"Welcome! What can I get you today?"

Qin Yan: "I'll have a cappuccino, please."

Zhuang Yu: "I'll go with a latte, thank you."

They placed their orders and took a seat at a cozy corner table, a haven where they could unwind and enjoy a moment of relaxation.

The barista soon returned with their drinks, skillfully crafted with a delicate foam art adorning the steaming cups. The rich aroma wafted through the air, tantalizing their senses.

Qin Yan took a sip of her cappuccino, savoring the velvety smoothness and the perfect balance of flavors. She found comfort in the familiar warmth that spread through her body, appreciating the simplicity of the coffee shop's offerings.

Zhuang Yu's latte delighted her taste buds with its creamy texture and the gentle bitterness of the espresso. She reveled in the moment, finding solace in the unassuming charm of the surroundings.

"Even though the prices of this shop are not high, it has a great taste of coffee," Zhuang Yu said after taking a sip.

Qin Yan nodded.

"You are okay coming to this place, right?" Zhuang Yu asked hesistantly.0

"Yes, obviously," Qin Yan's voice carried a hint of confusion, "Why would you ask so?"

"Actually many of the students in our class are rich and they don't like to visit this place. However, since I cannot afford to go to a high-end place, I usually come here." 

As they sat there, enjoying their coffee and engaging in casual conversation, they heard a shout, "Zhuang Yu!"
