Changes in face
Qin Yan took a look and her eyes focused on the final identification results. The results of the two samples were negative. This result made her feel a bit complicated. A little resistant, and a little inexplicably unexpected. She was surprised by the result, but she could not accept it. 0
Qin Yan laughed coldly to herself. She would never believe in this result until she had personally verified it.
She glanced at Xi Ting, "Ah Ting, what do you think about it?"
Xi Ting looked at Qin Yan and replied truthfully, "Yan Yan, I think that something is wrong. I know that some people in this world look similar to each other but it cannot be a coincidence that you and Mrs. Han look exactly the same if not for the difference in your age."
Qin Yan nodded, "I think so too."
Xi Ting held Qin Yan's hand, "Don't worry, maybe we have missed something. I will investigate again."
Qin Yan nodded, "Maybe you should investigate Han Cheng's side once again. Till now, we have focused on Han Cheng and Fang Zichen's relationship. Investigate Han Cheng's relatives."
Xi Ting's face was cold. His instinct said that the results in his hand were falsified. He closed the window showing the results on his phone and made a call.
Qin Yan was deep in thought. At one moment, she thought of the DNA test results and the other moment her heart ached for Fang Zichen. She had been aware of Fang Zichen's hope, the yearning in her eyes, and the anticipation that Qin Yan might be her long-lost daughter. It had been a glimmer of hope for Fang Zichen, a chance at reunification and healing a wound that had long festered.
Now, that fragile hope had been shattered, and Qin Yan couldn't help but empathize with the deep disappointment that Fang Zichen must be feeling.
Qin Yan's intuition about Fang Zichen's feelings proved to be accurate. In the days that followed the revelation of the DNA test results, Fang Zichen felt as if her world had crumbled. The hope that had emerged in her heart had turned to ashes, and the disappointment weighed heavily on her heart.
Fang Zichen's grief was palpable. She had lost her appetite and hadn't eaten properly in days, her meals barely touched. She spent most of her time in solitude, lost in her thoughts and the sorrow that consumed her.
She didn't know why but she had felt differently about Qin Yan. She felt a sort of connection with her. And when Xi Ting had given her the facts indicating that Qin Yan might really be her daughter, Fang Zichen's heart had accepted it. However, now everything had crumbled.
Han Cheng tried his best to console her, to reassure her that they would get through this together.
Fang Zichen's eyes filled with tears, and her voice quivered as she spoke, "Cheng, I had hoped for Qin Yan to be my daughter. I can't believe it's not true."
Han Cheng reached out and tenderly held her hand, his voice soothing as he replied, "I know, my love. It's a difficult truth to accept, but we must remember that we still have each other. We've built a beautiful life together, and nothing can change that."
Tears streamed down Fang Zichen's cheeks as she nodded, her heart heavy with grief, "I just thought... I thought maybe I could have a chance of getting a child again."
Han Cheng leaned in closer, his eyes filled with empathy, "We are a family, Zichen, even if not in the way we initially hoped. We have shared so many wonderful years together, and that won't change. We can still find happiness in the love we have for each other."
Fang Zichen rested her head on Han Cheng's shoulder, finding comfort in his embrace. Han Cheng's emotions were complicated as he consoled Fang Zichen. Although he knew that the child was not his, he still wished for Fang Zichen to reunite with her child.

After a long time, Qin Yan finally made her return to college. During this time, she had requested and been granted a leave of absence to take care of the little bun.
As Qin Yan entered the bustling college campus, she was met with the familiar sights and sounds of student life. The chatter of classmates, the rustling of books, and the hurried footsteps of those rushing to class were all around her. However, amidst the crowd, there was one face that stood out - Qiao Qing.
Qiao Qing had evidently been keeping a close watch for Qin Yan's return. When she spotted her friend, she didn't waste a second. With a joyful smile and a burst of energy, she sprinted towards Qin Yan, weaving expertly through the students.
"Yan Yan!" Qiao Qing called out as she closed the distance between them. Her eyes were bright with excitement, and her voice was filled with genuine happiness.
Seeing Qiao Qing, the corners of Qin Yan's lips turned up.
"Yan Yan, it's so good to see you!" Qiao Qing exclaimed, her voice filled with genuine warmth, "I've missed you."
Qin Yan responded gently, "How have you been?"
Qiao Qing replied, "I am fine. What about you? Is everything fine at home?"
Qiao Qing did not know the exact reason for Qin Yan's absence. She just knew that there was some issue in her family.
Also, as the Xi family had concealed all the information of the birthday party, only those who were present knew what happened. Others didn't.
After chatting for a while, Qiao Qing suddenly touched her face and smiled at her friend and happily pointed at her cheek, drawing Qin Yan's attention to a once-prominent scar that was now significantly faded, "Look!"
"See what?" Qin Yan froze for a moment.
"Can't you see? My scar is much lighter!" Qiao Qing was smug.
"Didn't you put on any concealer?"
"No!" Qiao Qing hummed, "I'm not wearing any makeup today!"
Her skin had changed noticeably after she used the cream that Qin Yan had given her before. The scar on the face had lightened, and her skin was much paler. It was not as good as Qin Yan's porcelain skin, but it was too much better than before!
Qiao Qing grinned, clearly pleased with the outcome, "Yes, it's been a few days since I started using it, and the improvement is incredible. Thank you so much for giving it to me, Qin Yan. You're not only my best friend but also a lifesaver!"
Qin Yan chuckled, "I'm just glad it helped, Qing Qing. Your beauty shines through with or without the scar, but I'm thrilled that it's fading away."
As their conversation flowed, Qin Yan couldn't help but be curious about her best friend's romantic life. She leaned in with a playful smile and asked, "So, Qing Qing, how's everything with Jia Yuze? How's your relationship going?"
Qiao Qing's eyes lit up at the mention of her boyfriend's name, and she couldn't help but blush slightly, "Oh, Brother Yuze is doing really well," she replied.
Her expression softened as she shared a heartfelt insight with Qin Yan, "You know, Yan Yan, Brother Yuze is really happy that my scar is fading away. Not for himself, but for me. He says he's glad because he knows I won't have to endure hurtful comments and ridicule from people anymore."
Qin Yan's heart warmed at the thought of Jia Yuze's selfless concern for Qiao Qing. "That's truly touching, Qing Qing," she said. "It's a testament to the love and support you share. He cares about your happiness and well-being above all else."
Qiao Qing nodded, her gratitude evident in her eyes. "Yes, I'm incredibly lucky to have him in my life. It's not just about appearances; it's about how he values my feelings and self-esteem."

As it was the time for their classes to begin, Qin Yan and Qiao Qing bid each other farewell and went their separate ways.
Qin Yan soon walked towards her classroom. As she entered, she couldn't help but notice Zhuang Yu, who appeared visibly stressed. Her furrowed brows and the deep lines on her face spoke volumes about the turmoil she was experiencing.
However, just as Qin Yan was about to ask Zhuang Yu about her worries, the professor's voice rang in her ears, "Everyone, please take your seats."
Qin Yan had no choice but to return to her seat. She decided that she would speak to Zhuang Yu after the class.
The class went on for an hour. As Qin Yan gathered her belongings after the class and packed her bag, she looked around the room, hoping to find Zhuang Yu and have a chance to speak to her. However, to her disappointment, she noticed that Zhuang Yu had already left the classroom.
She thought that Zhuang Yu might have something to do and she could speak to her after college. As the day progressed, Qin Yan continued to attend her classes, but Zhuang Yu was nowhere to be seen.
