Lu Yaran advises Qin Muran

The afternoon sun bathed the airport in warm golden hues as Qin Muran settled into her seat. The hum of the airplane engine created a soothing ambiance. As the plane took off, Qin Muran gazed out of the window as the plane taxied and then ascended into the sky.  1

She was going to the S city to inform her mother about her decision to focus on acting. From the next day, she was to join Xi Yaohua's company and thus she felt that Lu Yaran should be told about everything. Till now, Qin Muran had not told anyone about Xi Yaohua's affairs and him pursuing Qin Yan again.

However, Qin Muran felt that her mother could give her some good advice as the latter herself was a good wife and had a tight hold on Qin Yicheng. Since Qin Yicheng himself owned a company, there was no shortage of women ready to offer themselves to him. However, Lu Yaran was very strict and if she heard of any woman getting involved with her husband, she would teach them a good lesson. This was the reason that nobody dared to approach Qin Yicheng in the company now.

Qin Muran felt that since she was in the same situation, she could learn a thing or two from her mother.

As the plane approached the S city, the city's iconic skyline came into view, a mesmerizing mix of modern skyscrapers and traditional architecture. The familiar sight brought a sense of comfort, and Qin Muran knew she was almost home.

Once the plane landed, Qin Muran gathered her belongings and made her way to the exit where Qin family's driver was waiting for her. She had already informed Lu Yaran that she was coming and thus Lu Yaran had sent the driver for her precious daughter so that she could escape the hassle of hailing a taxi.

As Qin Muran arrived at the Qin villa, Lu Yaran stood at the entrance with her back straight and head held high, exuding an air of elegance and authority. She was dressed impeccably in a tailored designer outfit, her dark hair cascading gracefully over her shoulders. When Qin Muran stepped out of the car, Lu Yaran's face lit up with a warm smile.

"Welcome home, my dear," Lu Yaran said in her gentle yet commanding voice, reaching out to embrace her daughter. "How was your journey? Are you well?"

Qin Muran returned the embrace, managing to put on a genuine smile. "Thank you, Mom. The journey was fine, and I'm doing well."

As Lu Yaran and Qin Muran embraced each other, Lu Yaran felt Qin Muran's body tense ever so slightly before relaxing into the hug. It was a fleeting moment, but enough to raise a faint hint of concern in Lu Yaran's mind. She had known Qin Muran long enough to pick up on these nuances, and her motherly instincts told her that something was amiss.

"Come, let's go inside. The servants have prepared your favorite tea and some snacks," Lu Yaran said, leading Qin Muran into the luxurious foyer of the villa.

The opulence of the interior was as she remembered it - intricate marble floors, tasteful art adorning the walls, and an overall sense of refinement. Qin Muran felt a wave of nostalgia and comfort wash over her as she stepped into familiar surroundings.

As they reached the elegant sitting area, the servants immediately rushed to attend to Qin Muran, eager to cater to her every need. They served her favorite tea. Qin Muran smiled before taking a sip.

However, as Qin Muran sipped her tea, she seemed unable to sit still, fidgeting with her cup and tapping her fingers on the armrest of the chair. Lu Yaran noticed the restlessness and recognized it as a sign that something was weighing heavily on Qin Muran's mind. The subtle signs of anxiety were not lost on her watchful eyes.

When Lu Yaran asked about Qin Muran's wellbeing and journey, her daughter's response was accompanied by a nervous laugh. It was as though Qin Muran was trying to deflect attention away from her true feelings, but her mother could see through the facade. Lu Yaran understood that her daughter was putting on a brave face, trying to hide her concerns and worries.

On Qin Muran's side, she didn't know how to express her thoughts as Xi Yaohua cheating was embarrassing for her. Even though Lu Yaran was her mother, Qin Muran still felt ashamed and angry.

With a subtle nod to the servants, Lu Yaran dismissed them, wanting some privacy for her conversation with Qin Muran. Once they were alone, she gently touched her daughter's hand, her voice soft and comforting.

"Muran, I can see that something is troubling you. Your visit here seems sudden, and I can't help but feel that there's more to it than you're letting on. You know you can confide in me, don't you?"

The atmosphere grew tense, and the silence seemed to stretch on forever as Qin Muran struggled to find the right words to begin the conversation. Lu Yaran observed her daughter with a keen gaze, waiting patiently for her to speak.

Finally, Qin Muran took a deep breath and spoke softly, "Mom, there's something important I need to tell you. I've made a decision about my future."

Lu Yaran raised an eyebrow, her interest piqued, "Tell me, Muran. What's the matter?"

"I've decided to focus on acting," Qin Muran began, "and I want to join Xi Yaohua's entertainment company."

Lu Yaran raised an eyebrow in surprise, "But what about your finance degree? When we had asked you earlier while choosing a major, you said that you wanted to help your brother in managing the company. Now, why did you change your decision so suddenly?"

Qin Muran replied, "I am not quitting finance. It's just that I wish to focus more on my minor."

"Oh," Lu Yaran still did not understand Qin Muran's intentions, "But why so sudden? Did something happen?"

Qin Muran hesitated, unsure how to broach the real reason behind her decision. But she knew she couldn't keep it a secret from her mother, not if she wanted her support. Summoning her courage, she decided to be honest.

"Well, it's not just about acting," Qin Muran confessed. "The truth is, I've found out that Brother Hua has cheated on me. I want to keep an eye on him, so that's why.."

"What did you say?" Lu Yaran's eyes blazed with anger, "Xi Yaohua cheated on you? How dare he!"

Lu Yaran then tightened her hold on Qin Muran's hands, "When? How did this happen? Tell mother everything."

Qin Muran then proceeded to tell everything to Lu Yaran. She started from the time when she had caught Xi Yaohua sleeping with Song Mei and ended telling about how Xi Yaohua wanted to get together with Qin Yan.

As Qin Muran finished her account, Lu Yaran stood up abruptly in anger, "Those bitches! They have nothing to do other than seducing men. And that Qin Yan! I should have killed her when she was born. She is the nemesis of our family."

Lu Yaran's face was red with anger as she thought of Qin Yan. She tried to calm herself down before asking Qin Muran, "What is the matter with that secretary? Have you handled it?"

Qin Muran nodded, "Her child is dead but unfortunately, she survived the accident."

"Good job," Lu Yaran said thoughtfully, "With the child gone, she is no longer a threat to you."

"I know," Qin Muran added, "But I can't deal with this all the time. That is why I have decided to keep an eye on Brother Hua."

"Okay, I understand now," Lu Yaran leaned forward, her gaze locking with her daughter's, "Muran, you have to understand one thing. Women are going to throw themselves at Xi Yaohua in future too. And if women are coming by themselves, how would men reject them? So what you need to accept is, Xi Yaohua can have one or two flings outside, but your position should not be threatened. If you see that any woman can threaten your position, just get rid of her immediately."

Qin Muran nodded. She thought that her mother was right. This was the only way to secure her position forever.

"And talking about Qin Yan, I don't think that she will give Xi Yaohua any chance now that she has a man more powerful than him," Lu Yaran's expression soured while saying this.

Qin Muran nodded. If Qin Yan wanted to reconcile with Xi Yaohua, she would have done it earlier. Even though Qin Muran was not ready to accept the fact that Qin Yan's man was better than Xi Yaohua in every aspect, she knew this at the back of her mind. She also knew that Qin Yan was no longer a fool.

As the conversation between Qin Muran and Lu Yaran continued, they delved into more details about her decision, discussing the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead.
