Jia Yuze refuted his mother again, "Mom, if this is your point, then what would you have done if Qing Qing's face was perfectly fine before marriage and she got disfigured after marriage? Would you ask me to divorce her?"1

"Absolutely not," Mother Jia replied in an instant, "Once you marry someone, you have to face the ups and downs of your life together. If a partner is going through bad time, how can you leave them? This is not right."

Jia Yuze smiled, "It means that if anything happened after marriage, you would accept her, right?"

"Yes," Mother Jia replied.

"Then what is the problem in accepting her now?" Jia Yuze cross questioned his parents.

Mr. and Mrs. Jia fell silent on hearing their son's words. In their heart, they knew that Qiao Qing was a very good girl and she was perfectly suited for their family if not for the scar on her face. Her family background matched theirs and she had a good upbringing. Other than her scar, they had no reason of rejecting her. And now that their son had convinced them in such a way, they had nothing that could refute his words. 

Seeing his parents contemplating, Jia Yuze added, "If you find another girl for me, and she turns out to be just a pretty face without brain, what would we do? How would she handle the responsibilities of the madam of Jia family? Would we keep her as a showpiece, just to show her to others?"

Mr. and Mrs. Jia remained thoughtful as they listened to their son's words. After a moment of contemplation, they finally sighed. 

Mrs. Jia gaze softened as she said, "Qiao Qing, we're willing to give this a chance, to get to know you beyond appearances."

Qiao Qing's heart swelled with a mixture of relief and gratitude, "Thank you. I promise to be open and honest, and I hope that we can build a connection based on trust."

As the meeting continued, Qiao Qing's grace and warmth began to shine through. She engaged in conversation with genuine interest and charm, showing her wit and intelligence. Her father patted her on the back, his expression a mix of pride and happiness, "We knew you could handle it, and we're so proud of you."

Qiao Chen smiled as well.

The entire family shared in the joyous moment, their laughter and cheers filling the air. Qiao Qing's worries and uncertainties seemed to dissolve in the presence of her family's love and support.

With a heart brimming with happiness and excitement, Qiao Qing picked up her phone and dialed Qin Yan's number. The phone rang a few times before Qin Yan's voice greeted her on the other end.

"Hey, Qing Qing! What's up?"

Qiao Qing couldn't contain her enthusiasm as she replied, "You won't believe what happened, Yan Yan! I met Jia Yuze's parents, and they have accepted me!"

There was a moment of stunned silence on the other end before Qin Yan's voice exploded with happiness, "Really? Are you serious? Tell me everything!"

Qiao Qing shared the details of her meeting with Jia Yuze's parents—the initial nervousness, their concerns, and the eventual understanding that had blossomed. She described the conversations, the atmosphere, and the reassurances she had received from both Jia Yuze and his parents. 

Qin Yan smiled on the other end of the call. Jia Yuze had passed her tests. She was truly happy for her best friend. Finally, she got the love she deserved. Now it was time for her to get the beauty that she deserved. 

Qin Yan replied, "Qing Qing, that's amazing! I'm so happy for you! This is a huge step, and it just shows how strong your relationship with Jia Yuze is."

Qiao Qing's heart swelled with gratitude for her friend's unwavering support, "Thank you, Qin Yan. I couldn't have done it without you and everyone else who believed in me."

Qin Yan's voice softened. "You know we're always here for you, right? I'm so glad that things worked out. The next time whenever we meet, I'll give you something."

"What are you going to give me?" Qiao Qing got curious, "Let's meet tomorrow in the university?"

Qin Yan smiled helplessly, "Look how eager you are to get your gift. However, I would have to disappoint you as I won't be attending college these few days."

"You won't be coming?" Qiao Qing was surprised, "Why? Is everything alright?"

"Yes, yes, everything is fine. Don't worry. I am going out of city for a few days," Qin Yan replied.

"Okay okay, we'll meet when you return," Qiao Qing said, "I won't disturb you anymore. Bye."

"Bye and take care."

When Qin Yan returned home, Xi Ting was in the study room having a discussion with some people.

One of the maids said, "Sir is in the study room with a few guests."

Qin Yan gave a sound of affirmation. Since Xi Ting was having a meeting, Qin Yan decided to not disturb him. She went to her room for freshening up. After Qin Yan came out of the washroom, she saw Xi Ting sorting out some documents and placing them in his bag. 

"Moonpie, what are you doing?"

"Yan Yan," Xi Ting began, his voice carrying a hint of hesitancy, "There's an upcoming business trip that I need to embark on. I have to attend a charity dinner and I will be away for a week."

Qin Yan met Xi Ting's gaze with a blend of attentiveness and curiosity. She sensed an underlying layer of emotion in his words, a departure from his usual composed demeanor. Her concern for him flickered in her eyes as she listened. 

Xi Ting got up from the couch and pulled Qin Yan into his arms. Gazing into her eyes, he said, "The thought of being away from you for a week is… difficult. I don't want to go."

Qin Yan sighed. This man was acting like a child. Who would have thought that the famous Young Master Xi would behave in such a manner in private! Outside, he was cold and invincible CEO of Xi Corporation, however, in front of his cookie, he was just like a normal person.

Thinking of this, Qin Yan's expression softened, a mixture of understanding and affection reflecting in her eyes.

After a moment's pause, Xi Ting's eyes brightened as an idea seemed to take root. A small smile played at the corners of his lips, his earlier reluctance giving way to a newfound spark of enthusiasm.

"But here's what I've been thinking," he continued, his voice gaining a touch of excitement, "What if you joined me on this trip? Why don't you come with me to M Nation?"

Qin Yan's eyes widened, surprise and delight sweeping across her features. The notion of accompanying Xi Ting on his business trip seemed to ignite a spark of excitement within her as well. Her lips curved into a warm smile as she absorbed his proposal.

"You mean, travel together?" She asked, a mixture of incredulity and enthusiasm lacing her words.

Xi Ting nodded. 

"But I don't understand. Since you're traveling so far to attend the dinner, is it very important?" Qin Yan asked curiously.

"That's right. I have a business meeting with a man in that time. It's important for our company, so I have to be present in person," Xi Ting replied.

"Okay, I'll come with you. But when do we have to leave?" Qin Yan asked.

Xi Ting did not expect Qin Yan to really agree. At this moment, all his reluctance was washed off, and was replaced with a sense of anticipation. This would be their first outing together. How could he not be excited!

Similarly, Qin Yan was also thrilled. She hadn't travelled anywhere since her transmigration. And this would be her trip with her moonpie. This made her look forward to this trip.
