Kana Battles The Emperor

"I will make you regret coming here, you filthy beast." Emperor Botus sneered as he began to chant.  1

Kana, of course, was not going to give him time to finish his chant. "[Dragon Breath]!" Kana yelled out, sending her flames raging towards Emperor Botus. Her flames incarcerated everything they touched. Seeing such hot flames coming towards him, even Emperor Botus did not dare touch them. He canceled his incantation and quickly dodged out of the way.

"Tsk!" Emperor Botus figured she wouldn't give him a chance. "[Tri-lightning]!" 

Three bolts of lightning flew towards Kana. These bolts of lightning had much less strength than the lightning spear, which takes a longer time to cast. Since his attack was of the lightning element, there was no way her [Dragon Breath] was going to be able to block it. Kana, who was chasing after the emperor with her flame, quickly dodged out of the way when she saw the three bolts of lightning passing through the flame and heading right towards her head. 

"Hah! Do you think you can dodge!?" Emperor Botus moved his hands, causing the direction of the bolts of lightning to change. 

Kana quickly cut off her flame and weaved in and out of the golden pillars trying to keep ahead of the bolts of lightning but even with Kana's speed as fast as it was, she was barely keeping a step ahead of them. "Fuck!" Kana opened her menu and dumped all the [Status Points] she had saved up into [Agility].

With this boost, Kana was able to keep a few steps ahead of the lightning chasing after her. 'Think Kana, what can you do besides run!?' Kana's mind was racing as she looked at her skills until finally, her eyes fell on one particular one. "[Water Pillars]!" Kana yelled out as she slammed her hand on the ground. The ground began to rumble as five giant pillars of water burst out of the ground. The three bolts of lightning slammed into the pillars before quickly dispersing.

Emperor Botus eyes went wide in shock as he watched his spell being repelled. "What! Were you not a fire dragon!?"

"Seems I made the right choice. [Water Barrier]!" A bubble of water surrounded Kana as Kana lowered her stance and placed her hand on the ground. She dug her nails deep into the marble floor, shook her butt a little before dashing at full speed towards Emperor Botus.

"Naive!" Emperor Botus yelled out as he formed a few hand signs and mumbled a spell. "[Sword Of Lightning]!" 

A large sword formed of lightning appeared in Emperor Botus's hand as he watched Kana's movements. But Kana only smiled at him as she softly whispered: "[Kana Art: Trickster]!" As Kana finished speaking, she suddenly exploded into thousands of balls of flames which all surged towards Emperor Botus.

"What!? How!?" Yuthia stared in shock at what she was seeing. "This is a fox bloodline skill. How did she!?"

"I'm not sure…." Sei was just as shocked. Some races, as they leveled up, would eventually unlock their own arts, but this was just unheard of. Never has there ever been an instance of another race copying an art that was not bound to them by blood.

"It's not impossible. Kana's intellect is very high. She can learn almost anything by looking at it once. If she put the principles together of what a race's art is made of then made her own rendition of it, then it is possible. In her case, unlike the original [Fox Art: Trickster] that needs to have an activation phrase, she probably needs it for imagery. She had just learned this not long ago after some trial and error." Creige explained. In truth, he had seen this done in his homeland. But this was a secret kept among the demon race. 

One night when he was visiting Kana, Kana had mentioned how she wished he could use an art like Kiliffia had. Since she was his wife, he did not mind passing down this method. From the time she learned of it, she had been practicing it when she could. Only recently did she have a breakthrough for it. But to think she was able to use it so well now. Creige could only think that maybe watching Emperor Botus control his lightning bolts gave her some clues to perfect it.

'Keep your mind clear, Kana. It's already hard enough to control  these balls of flames.' Kana's forehead was sweating. It was taking a lot of mental energy to control the hundreds of balls of flames. 

Emperor Botus's face was grim. He never expected a dragon to suddenly use a fox art. He was starting to suspect that maybe this little dragon girl had fox blood in her. He was so shocked by this outcome he had completely lost track of which one Kana might be. Before he knew it, he felt a sharp pain come from his shoulder. Five deep bloody wounds appeared, spraying blood everywhere. Even in her humanoid form, Kana's claws were still just as sharp, even if they did look like fingernails. Emperor Botus's face turned. "Damn it! [Area Charge!]"

Thousands of bolts of lightning shot in every direction blasting each of Kana's fireballs. "Ahhh!" Kana was hit dead on and sent flying across the throne room, smashing into and through the wall and into the floor.

"Shit, that hurt..." Kana cursed as she slowly got up. Blood dripping from the corner of her mouth. Her [Water Barrier] was completely gone.

"Kana!" Creige went to run over but stopped when Kana raised her hand. 

"Stay back! I am just getting started." Kana yelled. Her eyes suddenly began to glow red as she began speaking in an ancient tongue.

The ground began to shake violently as the sky suddenly turned a fiery red. Yuthia and Sei both trembled when they felt the amount of magic power pouring out of Kana. "This… We need to go now!" 

Emperor Botus was also feeling something else was wrong as he stared up at the sky. "What is she trying to do!?"

"Feltilao mo difralia: [Call Meteor]!"
