"Is there something wrong?" Kana asked as she looked at the group in front of her.1

"No. It's because what you described is very rare. But this is also good news. It means you are easily able to sense spiritual qi." Yi Tan said with a smile before clapping his hands. "Alright! Kana, you stay by Lui Na's side. For now, you will need to follow us while we finish our mission for the academy. We were tasked with killing a few demonic sect disciples who snatched up some of our junior sisters and did unspeakable things to them before killing them and using their blood as a means to cultivate.  Demonic sects are truly just..." Yi Tan and the others all clenched their fists. The hatred they had for demonic sects ran deep within their bones. The way they cultivated was just sickening.

"Alright!" Kana had no issues with killing evil people. Such people did not deserve to live. 

With Kana agreeing, Liu Na walked to Kana and said: "Just stay next to me. I will make sure nothing happens to you."

"Then I will be counting on you." Kana nodded. She did not feel she needed any protection, but she was not going to be careless with how her powers were restricted, and the current her really had no means of attacking besides her fist, tail, and feet if she was in human form and claws, tail, and teeth in dragon form. In a way, because of this, she was happy her current dragon form was small since it was quick and easy to move around in. What really disappointed her was her inability to even use her fire breath.

The group headed deeper into the forest towards the location given to them by the academy. "We will need to be careful from this moment on. We are getting in the area where the rank two demonic beasts are. While we can easily handle one or two, if we get a pack on us, I am afraid with our current cultivation of qi condensation, and lower, we will not be able to come out unscathed easily. 

"Also, the leader of the demonic sect disciples is at the peak of qi condensation, so we must be prepared for a hard fight." Yi Tan explained before continuing. "Kana, if things look bad, Junior Sister Lui, Junior Sister Mei, and Junior Sister Shi will take you out of here while Junior brother Gu and I will hold them back for as long as we can. Girls should never fall into the hands of these bastards." 

"Senior Brother has finally said something good for once. But don't forget Senior Brother, you are also a peak qi condensation cultivator, so don't sell yourself short." Shi Yu's words were filled with trust. She believed that none of them would end up in a bad situation.

As Kana listened to the group talking, she wondered just how strong this so called qi condensation thing they were talking about was. While she was curious, she did not ask. She decided to see for herself just how strong it was. As they made their way through the forest Yi Tan and Shi Yu had started to find it weird that any demonic beast that came into their range would either run away or only watch the group as they passed by. They looked at each other and then turned to look at Kana, who was smiling away, talking with Mei Ling as if nothing was going on. She didn't even turn to look at them. 

"Senior Brother, do you think she is the reason the demonic beasts don't get close?" Shi Yu sent a voice transmission to Yi Tan. A voice transmission was a way of speaking to others through their spiritual qi. Only the target could hear the one sending the transmission. It was in a way similar to telepathy. But it could only be used for short distances.

"Most likely. If what she said is true and is indeed a dragon, then even if she was weak, the demonic beasts would be wary of her aura. This works well for us, making this journey easier for us. Did Elder Ning contact you yet?" Yi Tan asked. 

"Not yet, but I should be receiving a message from him soon. How he will deal with it, I do not know." Shi Yu replied. She hoped Elder Ning would make an exception for Kana and allow her to join the sect without too much hassle. Otherwise, she would need to wait until she was at least a rank one qi gathering cultivator. 

"We can only hope. Either way, he should still allow us to test her spiritual root. Then I can give her a common cultivation method to allow her to at least break into the body fortification realm. Once she hits qi gathering, she can try out for the sect. My family happens to own a few properties in the city below the sect, so she will have a place to stay." Yi Tan already had things planned out to try to help Kana out. But his words made Shi Yu stare at him with a knowing smirk on her face. Yi Tan's ears turned red as he tried to ignore her. He couldn't help it. Kana was beautiful and also a meat lover like him. Plus, they hit it off pretty well even after just meeting. If only he knew that this blossoming love that was beginning to take root was never going to amount to anything.

"Hehe, good luck, Senior Brother." Shi Yu said while grinning away.

"Leave me alone!" Yi Tan wanted to smack that grin off her face. 

After traveling for a few days, only stopping to rest at night, they finally arrived at a location not far from a cave built into the side of a hill within the forest. Yi Tan raised his hand for everyone to stop. "Within the cave in front of us is where the demonic sect disciples should be. They are using it as a base for their evil deeds. Normally they would do such things within their own sects, but some demonic cultivators like to hide their way of cultivation from others. From what we know there are four of them ranging from qi gathering to qi condensation. Their leader is Wu Ming and the other four are his brothers and sisters. Wu YA the sister of the four is a rank one qi condensation cultivator. Wu Tai and Wu Gang are their little brothers who are in the qi gathering realm. Keep your guard up for any traps as we enter. And Be prepared to see some sickening things... "
