Zhang Wanshui, Cheng Fuguang, and the rest exchanged looks and shook their heads. They were bewildered and glad that the Meng Faction supported this suggestion.

This is a stupid move.

Meng Rui sneered in his heart and asked. “Then how much budget are you asking for?”

Secretary Meng was asking Mayor Jiang, but Dong Xuebing interrupted again. “It would be great if we have 30 million RMB.”

Zhang Wanshui said. “We are only repairing the quarters. Why do you need so much money? Moreover, it is unnecessary. If we were to repair something, it should be the roads.”

Ci Boyang said. “We have many old buildings in our County, and none have collapsed.”

Jiang Hai added. “We must put the money to good use and not waste it on vanity projects. If this is your only suggestion, we should use all the funds on road repairs.”

Liao Haiwei said. “I agree. Use all the funds to repair the roads.”

Dong Xuebing narrowed his eyes as he looked at them. Forty million RMB on road repairs? None of you helped when I went to the Central Government to get the funds. Now, you want to use the funds I have gotten to repair roads. You all don’t even consider my suggestion or leave anything for me. Are you all still human?

Meng Rui hesitated.
