Settling the matter in her own way

At the Cheng Villa.

"Why did you fuckin' run away?!" Cheng Yazhu yelled at the young lady in front of him who had already lowered her head.

"I... I didn't mean to Cousin. It's— just that the first thought that came to my mind was to leave," Cheng Jiayi answered with a trembling voice.

Cheng Jiayi was currently in her cousin's family villa.

She was in the Capital because she needed to practice team play with Burning Bow.

After a full day of practice, they decided to have dinner at Golden Imperial and she never would have expected that Jiang Xiu would be there.

She thought that for Jiang Xiu to come to Capital, it must be because Jiang Yue is getting recruited by an e-sports team which only made her mood worse.

She'd muttered a few nasty things, prompting Jiang Xiu to push her on the shoulder. 

Cheng Jiayi, who had never been treated like that before, became furious and shoved her back, causing Jiang Xiu to slip and hit her head on the sink.

Her hands were trembling and her face was as pale as a sheet as the sight of blood pooling on the back of her classmate's head flashed through her head. 

She despised Jiang Xiu, but not to the point of killing her. 

"You could have just called for help and explained that you found her lying on the floor when you entered the restroom!" shouted Cheng Yazhu.

If she had told him about this incident the moment she left the comfort room, they could have prevented and acted out a scene, however, she went back to the Cheng Villa instead due to panic and fright.

She only told him about it when he called her because she was already gone for almost ten minutes.

Cheng Yazhu had no other solution but to speak with General Manager, whom he knows well because he is a frequent customer at Golden Imperial.

He offered an enormous sum to remove the video footage of Cheng Jiayi entering the comfort room, but the General Manager refused and insisted on making this situation public, so he had to use his brother's name, who was the president of their family's company.

The General Manager eventually consented, but it is still risky because he hasn't gotten assurance that the footage has been removed. 

"If— if I told a staff member about it, they'd probably still link the incident to me because everyone in my school knows we're enemies of one another," Cheng Jiayi reasoned.

This is mostly why she left immediately.

"YOU— WHY ARE YOU SO STUPID!" Cheng Yazhu yelled, making her flinch, "Even if they thought it was done by you, there is no direct evidence that you did it because there are no security cameras inside the comfort room! As long as you deny the allegation, they won't be able to do anything to you! But the moment you left the comfort room without doing anything, it's a case of attempted murder already!"

The girl's face becomes even paler.

"I'm terribly sorry, Cousin," Cheng Jiayi apologized, "I know I should have told you about it."

She doesn't regret what she did to Jiang Xiu, but she does regret how she handled the situation. 

Jiang Xiu is entirely to blame! 

Why is she so frail that she stumbled at only a slight push?!

"...If people discovered that you left the comfort room after she entered, it would be an indirect evidence that could be used against you." 

"Does that mean I'll go to jail?" Cheng Jiayi asked, raising her head.

Cheng Yazhu furrowed his brows.

If they had only been an insignificant family, Cheng Jiayi would probably go to jail if there is enough evidence, but he doubt that would happen with their family's connections, "No, you probably won't."

Having a Cheng relative who was imprisoned for attempted murder would undoubtedly harm their reputation.

People who had always hoped for their downfall would take advantage of the incident to humiliate and bring them down.

"Although you won't go to jail, this would be enough to ruin your reputation and affect the team if this gets out. So you better not tell anyone about this."

Cheng Jiayi nodded.

"Does that girl come from a prominent family?"

This is what troubles Cheng Yazhu, dealing with this situation would be difficult if that girl's family had connections as well. 

But if that's not the case... They won't have to worry about anything.

Cheng Jiayi considered it and then shook her head.

Although the Xia family is prominent in Qingdu City, they are nothing in the Capital.

"Good."

His phone vibrated just as he stated that.

He raised the corner of his mouth when he saw the text message he had received.

"Don't worry, the footage has been deleted."

Cheng Jiayi heaved a sigh of relief, and her tense muscles relaxed.

Thank goodness, she thought her future is about to be ruined.

She couldn't help but think of Jiang Xiu's situation now that this enormous burden had been lifted from her heart. 

Although she does not want the girl to die, she does want her to suffer. 

Jiang Xiu could only blame herself for what happened.

"We should give this to the police," Gao Jing suggested, but Jiang Yue abruptly stood up and said coldheartedly, "I'll settle it myself." 

"Huh?" Qin Zirui was taken aback. 

When someone hurts the people she cares about, putting them in jail is not her way of doing things. 

She would instead do the same thing to them, making them feel ten times the misery they had caused her loved ones. 

If Cheng Jiayi dared to hurt her sister, causing Jiang Xiu to be unconscious in the hospital, then she would do the same to her. 

This isn't the first time she's done anything like this. 

Jiang Yue exited the room and as she was about to turn a corner, a hand grabbed her wrist causing her to come to a halt.

"Are you going to stop me?" She asked, slightly mockingly as she removed his hand.

Luo Zhelan raised his brow at her reaction, "No, are you sure you want to do this?"

There was no doubt or judgment in his eyes, it was as though he was only asking to confirm it.

Jiang Yue nodded.

When he saw her determined demeanor, Luo Zhelan couldn't help but remark, "Let me help you, no need to take action yourself."

Based on her past, he could deduce what she would do to avenge her sister.1

If she utters even just one sentence to ask for his help, he wouldn't hesitate to settle this matter on his own.

But he is well aware that Jiang Yue was never the type of person to seek help from others. 

She has gotten used to doing everything herself.

Hearing his words somehow calmed Jiang Yue's raging anger in her heart.

Luo Zhelan was offering himself on a silver platter for her to use.

Her fists clenched as she declared with conviction, "I want to beat Cheng Jiayi up and let her experience what she did to Xiao Xiu."

Luo Zhelan nodded, as if they were merely discussing trivial topics and weren't about to commit some violence.

"Then I'll make it so that she has no choice but to receive your beating."
