The Incident that turned her life around

She stared at the girl in front of her, and now that a heavy burden had been taken from her shoulders, she realized that the girl had grown up lovely, which made her smile since her beauty reminded her of someone.  1

"Right," Mao Shi asked, "How's Wei?"

She wonder what that man decided to do in his life.

"Has he become a doctor or a researcher? He even once told me that he wants to change the world and make it a better place with his own hands," Mao Shi chuckled as memories of the past started to resurface in her mind, however, her smile slowly stiffened when she saw Jiang Yue's expression.

The girl in front of her had already lowered her head, hiding the pain in her eyes.

Jiang Yue repeated Mao Shi's words in her mind.

He never told her what he planned to do with his life, instead focusing on teaching her the best he could.

Brother Wei was a genius, and he probably decided to do so since she was also a genius.

He presumably saw how others treated her, so he taught her, or why else would he do that?

On weekends, she and Jiang Xiu would go to his house, or most times it would only be her because Jiang Xiu tend to get bored easily.

It wasn't until she dropped out of school that her visits to his house decreased because he became too busy, and that's when her father began looking for other teachers for her and she got to know Principal Wei.

Then the incident happened.

"Xiao... Xiao Yue?" Mao Shi mumbled confusedly, not understanding why she appeared so dejected.

"Brother Wei has already passed away," Jiang Yue said in the calmest voice she could muster.

It was the first time she had ever said this to anyone.

Aside from the three of them, she, Jiang Xiu, and their father, only Mao Shi had any relationship with their Brother Wei.

It was only now that she realized that even if she tried to follow Jiang Yue's suggestion and make a fresh start, it would not be enough to ease the grief that was deeply buried in her heart.

And it would only be avenging them that would make everything better.

"Wha— how is that possible?" Mao Shi stuttered as she was in shock.

Mao Shi knew how healthy Wei was because she was the one who usually brought him vegetables from the garden, and he seldom ever ate anything bad for his body, unlike her!

Mao Shi speculated that something must have happened to him for him to die so young, causing her face to become pale as her grip tightened on the glass of water in her hand.

She wanted to ask the specifics but seeing the girl's expression made her stop.

Contrary to her expectation, Jiang Yue explained, "He was found dead in his house. It had to be robbery because everything valuable was taken."

Mao Shi nodded, still stunned, her gaze fixed on her hand.

Jiang Yue's eyes glinted.

Only the first sentence was true as the other details of what happened were too brutal.

A robbery?

It was far from that.

He was found in his house with all kinds of wounds on his body that she couldn't even dare to imagine someone would be able to endure.

Not to add various substances were injected into his body.

Jiang Guo and Jiang Xiu, who were walking home from school that day since Jiang Xiu had resumed his studies, were also attacked.

It was a case of attempted murder.

Jiang Guo fought without any hesitation to save his daughter, he was heavily endured and he was hit heavily on his head while Jiang Xiu wasn't any better than him.

They were able to run away.

There were no further details from their case since Jiang Guo went into a coma and Jiang Xiu was traumatized. She has had several therapy sessions, but none of the psychologists got her to talk about it.

Jiang Xiu only recovered from this incident because she had selective amnesia, where she had forgotten exactly what happened during the incident however she remembers the overall gist of it, that her father was harmed on that particular day.

It was her brain's way of recovering.

In just a day, three people's lives were ruined.

This matter was kept strictly confidential, and Jiang Yue was only told that her brother Wei had died and her father and sister had been attacked.

She was kept in the dark about what truly happened.

She stayed in Qingdu City for months.

She and Jiang Xiu were under the care of the Xia Family, but she wanted to know what happened on that exact day so she investigated on her own, yet she wasn't able to find anything.

It was then that she started to immerse herself in games and fights as it makes her heart feel numb.

She would find herself playing Rule in Rivalry all day, and if this doesn't make her forget the pain, she would try to find some gang fights to take part in.

Kang Jinhai, who she met because of a fight, was a witness to all of her escapades.

He thought it was only her way of having fun, but instead, it was Jiang Yue's way of forgetting the heart-wrenching pain she felt deep within and the disappointment she felt towards herself.

However playing games and fighting felt repetitive for her for doing it for months, and that's when she started to shift her attention to creating Altersky, an MMORPG game she created using all of the programming skills she learned from her Brother Wei.

Jiang Yue found solace in creating the game, she poured all of her efforts into it, and when it became popular and made her millions she then started the gaming company 'Altersky'.

However, just as she believed she was finally figuring out how to become numb to the grief she felt deep inside, she met Sun Guang, the President of Paragon.

Sun Guang saw her programming skills and taught her hacking.

Jiang Yue, true to her name as a genius, was able to surpass her Master in terms of ability, and it is because of this ability that she was able to know a piece of certain information.

She hacked into the case of her Brother Wei's incident and according to the autopsy, none of the wounds nor the substances that were injected into his body caused his death, instead it was he who killed himself by stabbing his heart with a pointed metal.

This information pushed her over the edge and made her fall into an abyss of what we call 'Revenge'.
