Cheng Jiayi regretted what she had done

After several days, Jiang Xiu was finally discharged from the hospital.1

They returned to their dormitory and resumed their studies. 

Jiang Yue initially did not want Jiang Xiu to do so because the girl has not fully recuperated, but Jiang Xiu was anxious to study because the mock exam was approaching.

Seeing the girl's dark circles under her eyes, she asked, "You didn't sleep well last night?"

"I slept late last night, I had to review the lessons they had this past week, or else it would be difficult for me to understand today's lessons," Jiang Xiu explained as the two of them walked to Class Eleven's room.

Knowing that the girl was doing it for her sake because of the bet, Jiang Yue couldn't help but comment, "You don't need to work so hard for it, I won't leave the school."

She had decided to ace the mock exam so Jiang Xiu would not be under pressure.

"No, I can't take any chances. I have to double my effort especially since I've only always been in the top eight in Class One before."

Although not everyone in Class Eleven is dumb when in it comes to academics, they are still pretty far behind Class One.

Even their Class Monitor, Ren Junjie, who only knows how to study all day and night only has an average score.

It wasn't an overstatement to say that Class Eleven's highest score wasn't even their lowest score.

"Xiao Xiu, I'm not that stupid," Jiang Yue said, touching her nose. "If I wanted to, I could get an excellent grade. Furthermore, you witnessed how I dominated Rule in Rivalry, do you honestly believe someone who can accomplish that can't understand any high school lessons?" 

"Sister, I'm not saying you can't comprehend the lessons, what I'm saying is Class One are just too smart. I believe in you, don't worry." Jiang Xiu responded and flash a smile at her.

Jiang Yue furrowed her brows.

Does she have to show the girl what she has accomplished all these years?

But that might be too much for her.

"Besides, I'm doing it for myself so I can achieve a good score in National College Entrance Examination as well," Jiang Xiu stated just so her sister wouldn't be bothered about it.

Jiang Yue nodded and paused before saying, "Then I'll give you some notes that could help you." 

Jiang Xiu glanced at her, wondering if she had any notes at all. 

She had never seen her sister listen to any discussion, so how could she possibly have taken notes on the lessons?

Jiang Xiu finally nodded and expressed her gratitude.

She'll just accept it.

When they arrived, classes were just about to begin but Meng Deming didn't immediately start the discussion, and instead went to talk with Jiang Yue and Jiang Xiu outside the classroom.

"Principal Cheng asked me to tell the both of you to go to her office. Has anything happened?" Meng Deming questioned.

Jiang Xiu bit her lip, unsure if she should tell the old man since he was quite concerned for the two of them.

Jiang Yue, on the other hand, responded, "Nothing happened, probably our grades."

Meng Deming was doubtful with her answer but still nodded, "Then the of you should go, come back right after."

Jiang Xiu and Jiang Yue went to the Principal's office, but when they opened the door, it wasn't only Principal Cheng inside, Cheng Jiayi was there also.

Jiang Xiu respectfully greeted, "Principal Cheng, good morning."

"Sit down," Principal Cheng pointed to the sofa, and after the two had taken their seats, she added, "I was told what happened in the Capital." 

Jiang Yue merely lay back on the sofa and waited for her to continue, whilst Jiang Xiu became nervous as her hands fiddled with her uniform skirt. 

"Jiayi, go apologize," Principal Cheng told the girl who had kept her head down the entire time. 

Cheng Jiayi raised her head and was about to say something when her gaze met Jiang Yue's, causing her thoughts to go blank as memories of what happened in the hospital flashed through her mind. 

If at that time, she was outraged and couldn't accept that she can't retaliate against the girl, however, when she woke up and saw how the Cheng Family slowly crumbled and barely has any foothold in the families in the capital made her regret what she had done.

She regretted why she didn't help Jiang Xiu. If only she did and apologized right after, maybe Jiang Yue would have not probably touched the Cheng family and none of this would have happened.

"Cheng Jiayi," Principal Cheng said, bringing her back to reality. 

Cheng Jiayi gathered her courage and mumbled, "I'm sorry,"

Jiang Yue said in an emotionless voice, "Are you apologizing to the floor Cheng Jiayi?"

Hearing her words, Cheng Jiayi stood up and bowed towards Jiang Xiu, saying, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean for it to happen. It was wrong for me to just leave you there."

Jiang Xiu bit her lower lip and remained silent.

She wasn't angry at Cheng Jiayi, but it didn't mean she'd forgive her. 

She understood it was an accident, but what truly bothered her was how Cheng Jiayi simply left the comfort room, and if her sister didn't check why she was gone for a long time, there was a probability she would have died there.

Jiang Yue was also enraged for this reason, and she can see that despite everything that had happened, Cheng Jiayi showed no regret for her actions.

If Cheng Jiayi only helped her sister, apologized for what she did, and taken responsibility, none of this would have happened and the Cheng family would have still gotten the joint venture.

She would still avenge her sister but she'll only play some small tricks on Cheng Jiayi.

Cheng Jiayi seeing that none of them had any reaction, became anxious, "You wouldn't do anything more to the Cheng Family right?"

Jiang Yue lifted her brow, "Have you ever realized why your family was dragged into this matter Cheng Jiayi?"

The other girl responded, "Because of what I've done to Jiang Xiu." 

"No, the consequence of what you did to Xiao Xiu was when I let you experience what she went through," Jiang Yue explained, "It was because you let your cousin get involved in this matter and bribed people to delete the footage."

Cheng Jiayi's breathing got heavy as remorse crept into her heart. 

"I'm truly sorry..."

She regret it, she regretted everything.

"You have no one to blame for this situation but yourself."
