Her life won't be the same anymore
"I know," Cheng Jiayi's voice can be barely heard.
Seeing the girl in front of her feeling remorse, Jiang Xiu's heart softens.
She and Cheng Jiayi had been classmates for three years, and while they weren't friends, they weren't enemies either.
In fact, Cheng Jiayi disliked Xia Mingzhou more because they tend to be compared to each other.
"I may not forgive you now but one day I will," Seeing her former classmate shed tears as she lowered her head, Jiang Xiu couldn't help but say, "Cheng Jiayi, I know you're a proud person, but apologizing doesn't make you any less of a person, instead, you should be ashamed more for not doing so when it is your fault," she hesitated before continuing, "I... I also apologize for pushing you but it was because your words were too much. No one would do nothing when their sister is being bad-mouthed in front of them."
Cheng Jiayi nodded, not expecting her to apologize also.
The news has already spread throughout the Capital and Qingdu City, but it isn't too bad because her identity wasn't revealed.
Besides, the Cheng Group can still stand, and they may be able to gradually climb their way back up.
And her classmates may look at her with pity because of what happened to the Cheng Family, but at the very least they do not see her as a murderer.
Her life might not be the same anymore, but it's also not the worst.
She could always start over.
When the two of them finally went out of the Principal's office, Jiang Xiu exhaled a sigh of relief, "My heart doesn't feel so heavy now."
Jiang Yue turned to her and lifted her brow, asking what she meant.
"It really upsets me that Cheng Jiayi could just leave me there, after all, we've been classmates for too long, but now that I heard her apologize and feel remorseful about it, made me feel a lot better."
"She wouldn't have apologized if it hadn't affected her family."
"Yeah," Jiang Xiu sighed, "You're most likely right."
"You shouldn't be soft all the time. If... if Luo Zhelan didn't help deal with the Cheng family, Cheng Jiayi would never have felt remorse for what she did and you could only swallow the injustice you felt," Jiang Yue avoided Jiang Xiu's eyes that were deeply staring into hers, "Sometimes, you need to take action yourself so they would realize what harm they had done."
She had been through it so many times that she had lost count.
People with wealth and power are never afraid of the consequences of their actions since they can turn everything around.
Even if you're the one who suffered from their actions, the next minute you could be the perpetrator of the crime, and they would be the victim, receiving all of the people's sympathy.
You could only take the matter into your own hands and seek justice for yourself.
Jiang Yue's thinking had always been this way.
The two of them went back to their room and listened to the ongoing discussion.
Lunchtime came and the six of them went to the canteen.
Wen Liling seeing that Jiang Xiu was still reading her notes while walking couldn't help but grab it, "Class has already ended, you shouldn't immerse yourself too much in studying."
"Yeah, it's bad for your health. Look at Wan Zhu, he looks healthy because he hasn't studied anything in his life," Kang Jinhai remarked, making Jiang Xiu giggle.
"What did you just say, Kang Jinhai?" Wan Zhu frowned at his friend and grasped his neck, ruffling the hair that he had spent time fixing.
"Hey, not the hair, you!"
"Does that explain why I'm so frail?" Jiang Xiu also joked, making them laugh.
"How are you feeling? Is your skull fracture already healed?" Gao Tian asked prompting Wen Liling to scoff, "Please, she was hospitalized for less than a week, do you think it will heal so quickly? "How about I crack your skull as well, and see if it heals in a few days."
"Wow, Liling, did you just say that to our Young Master Gao?" Wan Zhu said amusingly.
"I have Big Brother Yue to back me up now, who cares about him! Right, Jiang Yue?" Wen Liling asked which Jiang Yue merely nodded to.
After a whole day of class, Jiang Yue, Wen Liling, and Jiang Xiu who were just about to have dinner then go back to their room for self-study, stopped in their place when Xia Mingzhou suddenly appeared and blocked their road.

"Cousin, Grandpa asked me to invite you two to have dinner at the villa," Xia Mingzhou stated which made Jiang Yue raise her brow.
"Ah, we're a bit busy right now," Jiang Xiu declined.
"Oh, but Grandpa and Father wanted to talk to the two of you."
Jiang Yue narrowed her eyes, "What for?"
After the dinner discussion last time, they didn't try to contact the two of them again, well except for Xia Mingyu who called Jiang Xiu to ask if they are comfortable in their dorm, so something must have happened for them to be called back to the villa.
"They just want to know how the two of you are doing."
"We're doing fine, let's go," Jiang Yue answered and was just about to leave when Xia Mingzhou immediately uttered, "They knew about Jiang Xiu's injury so they want to make sure she's alright."
Jiang Yue finally getting the answer couldn't help but scoff, "I wonder who told them."
Although the matter of what happened to the Cheng Family and Golden Imperial was widely circulated in the city, Jiang Xiu's case was not made public.
So it's impossible for the Xia family to have heard about it, someone must have told him, and Jiang Yue doesn't even have to think that it must be Xia Mingzhou.
They said their goodbyes to Wen Liling and boarded the car with Xia Mingzhou.
When they arrived, dinner was just about to begin, and they were most likely waiting for Xia Mingzhou.
As it was Friday, Xia Mingyu and Xia Zhong weren't that busy, so the Xia Family was complete.
Jiang Yue was certain nothing good would happen that night.
