I only asked that you let us decide where to stay as this place had never been a home for me."

"And then what? Just let your sister lead you astray? We are doing this for you! Don't think that we didn't know you're also playing those games that your sister is playing. It won't be long before you pick up her nasty behaviors as well!" Feng Rong exclaimed, looking like a concerned auntie about her niece's future.

Jiang Yue couldn't help but grin seeing her acting.

She knew it wouldn't be long before Xia Mingzhou start saying some bullshit again to push the two of them over the edge.

This mother-and-daughter pair are good at acting as though they care when actually their hearts were filled with malicious intentions.

She doesn't even need to say a word yet these two sisters are digging their graves.

"Whatever any of you say, we won't stay here," Jiang Yue stated and stood up, "We're only fooling ourselves if we pretend that we're some harmonious family who cares for each other when we don't."

Xia Zhong scowled, as resentment started to fester in his heart due to her statement, "Xiao Yue we truly care for the two of you, don't say those kinds of words."

Jiang Yue didn't react and only said to Jiang Xiu, "Let's go."

The other girl stood up as well and was ready to leave when the Old Master suddenly stood up and lashed out, his voice rumbling in the dining room, "Step a foot out of this place and I'll forget I have the two of you as granddaughters!"

"Grandfather, that's too much, we could have just calmly discussed this," Xia Mingyu couldn't keep quiet any longer, "Let's hear what they have to say, you didn't even give them a chance to speak."

"Thank you, Cousin, but seeing everyone's attitude made me realize that this type of situation will continue to happen because you always see my sister negatively. Even if we tell you the truth we can still be in the wrong for all of you, so it's pointless to explain. Just believe whatever is true for you," Jiang Xiu grasped her sister's hand, "Let's just leave."

The Old Master felt as though he was suffocating from the fury he felt.

How dare these two girls turn away from him!

"How did your mother give birth to both of you!? If I had known, I would not have allowed her to marry your father!"

These girls were just like their Mother who dared to turn her back on him when she met that man, Jiang Guo!

This is what he despised the most! 

He could still accept it the first time, but now that this happened for the second time truly enraged him.

Jiang Xiu came to a halt as she heard her grandfather's words, her hands clenched as she pondered if she should express what she had been keeping deeply in her heart and why she never truly felt safe in this place.

However, she braced herself, and turned back towards them, "Then would you let me leave if I told you that Xia Mingzhou had assaulted me numerous times?"

Everything went quiet when she finished her words.

The people in front of her were stumped with her words, in disbelief at what they just heard.

The Old Master frowned, "What did you just say?"

Xia Mingzhou's eyes glinted.

Where did this girl get the courage to say those words?

"What are you talking about, Cousin? Don't makeup nonsense just to direct Grandfather's anger at me," Xia Mingzhou stated, her voice filled with indignation.

Jiang Yue noticed her sister was trembling. 

She understood Jiang Xiu had difficulty communicating about what she had been through because of her past trauma as a result of the incident, which is why she never forced the girl to tell her about the bruises and instead investigated on her own.

She finally confirmed that it was Xia Mingzhou's fault after learning that she had previously attended multiple psychotherapies for aggressive behavior.

Although there are various acts for this behavior such as harsh language, shouting, and inflicting physical or emotional harm, Xia Mingzhou was solely diagnosed with a tendency for physical violence. 

She wasn't going to take action because she didn't have enough evidence.

She never would have expected Jiang Xiu to reveal what Xia Mingzhou had put her through all these years.
