80: Would it be a problem if I did?

Author: Nnaise Word Count: 6377 Updated: 2025-03-26 02:45:30

Would it be a problem if I did?

Jiang Yue's brows furrowed, "It's fine, I guess the offer isn't tempting enough for him."2

"Oh wait, he did say his offer of $100 million for their corporation's network security system is still on the table. Will you accept his offer?"

"You know the history between Luo Corporation and Master, it wouldn't be good to have a partnership with them after they cut it off with Master before."

"Perhaps you should consult Master about it? You know his attitude. You can't predict how he will act on this matter— or maybe you could."

Jiang Yue is as unpredictable as their Master.

She might be able to accurately predict their Master's behaviors because they have the same mentality.

Jiang Yue considered his words, but she ultimately opted not to partner with Luo Corporation as Blank in regards to their Master.

"How is it at the headquarters?"

Phantom then said enthusiastically, "What else? Some wanted to return to Paragon after hearing about your little act on Arcane Union, but I turned them all down!" He then stated, "Paragon has just accepted a hundred recruits, and they are currently being trained. I intended to screen them again and hire only half of them."

"I suggest you recruit all of them, what we need now is more members," she then said with her brows furrowed, "also, since there are only three of us remaining, let's promote someone from among the experts."

"I was thinking about it as well and I was planning to do something about it after I settled the recruits. Then I'll send you all of the records on the remaining Paragon experts, and you can tell me if you have someone in mind."

She made a sound of consent before saying, "I'll visit the headquarters once I've settled most of my matters."

The contract terminations of Mao Shi and Zheng Qingsheng are still being resolved, while the lawsuit with Prime Media Entertainment has yet to begin.

Jiang Yue ended the call after they had addressed a few more issues and returned to their dorm room.

Aside from Class Eleven, Jiang Yue gave one of their dorm mates, who was the only one not from Class Eleven, a copy of the notes, and the three of them were now huddled around Jiang Xiu, listening to her explain some of their lessons.

Jiang Xiu noticed her and grabbed her book, saying, "Sister, this chapter isn't really clear. Can you explain how it turned negative?"

Jiang Yue did not hesitate to clarify and was patient with their questions.

Hu Mei, their classmate, and dormmate for the entire time, believed Jiang Yue was a particularly cold person, but witnessing the girl patiently addressing her questions made her realize that, while she appears aloof, she isn't truly that difficult to talk to.

After a few days, it was finally the start of another week.

It was the day that all of the students had been looking forward to.

The start of the mock exams.

Although it was only a practice examination, students were on edge since the questions were based on the standard of the college entrance exams and they could estimate their scores and also evaluate whether their efforts all this time had paid off or if they needed to study more.

Jiang Yue and Jiang Xiu were just about to go to their classroom when she got a call from Luo Zhelan stating that he was outside the school.

Jiang Xiu of course went together with her sister and just waited beside the gate to give the two privacy.

Jiang Yue could see Luo Zhelan leaning on his car as he waited for her.

Seeing the girl, a smile formed on his lips, "It's still early, right?" he couldn't help but question and looked at his watch.

It was indeed early but he was afraid that he'll cause her to be late.

Jiang Yue raised her brow, "What do you think?"

They hadn't seen each other since the incident in Prime Media Entertainment.

"Do you have anything to say to me?" She asked, knowing that Luo Zhelan would not have met with her if he had no reason to.

"Oh," Luo Zhelan said as he opened the door, taking a tiny rectangular box from inside and handing it to her, "I just wanted to wish you good luck on your mock exams."

She took the small box and opened it.

Seeing the pen inside, her eyes sparkled with amusement.

"Don't tell me you came here just for this?" She playfully asked as she closed the box again, however, she did not expect Luo Zhelan's response, "Would it be a problem if I did?"

Jiang Yue raised her head to meet the man's resolute gaze, and he said, "Besides, this is an important matter."

She just asked that question without anything on her mind as she thought he must have been in Qingdu City for some business matters, so hearing him say those words took her aback.

Looking at the man in front of her, she noticed that Luo Zhelan has some slight dark circles under his eyes, "Is there anything wrong on your end?"

Hearing her question, Luo Zhelan ran his hand through his hair and responded, "It's just my grandmother, her sickness is acting up again, but everything's fine now."

Jiang Yue nodded and she couldn't help but say, "You know you could have just called me to wish me good luck."

Although the Capital isn't that far from Qingdu City, traveling back and forth takes more than an hour.

Not to mention that he's always busy with Luo Corporation, the Research Organization, and even now his grandmother's sickness is acting up.

"It's better to see you— it's more sincere that way," he intended to say that he hadn't seen her in over a week and was looking forward to seeing her, but he changed his words.

He was worried about scaring the girl away if he was too direct.

"Are you concerned about me?" Luo Zhelan questioned as he observed her brow wrinkled.

"Would it be a problem if I did?" Jiang Yue answered with the exact words he had uttered earlier, making him smile from ear to ear.

"No, don't worry, I can handle everything on my end," he then added earnestly, "It's your matters that I was concerned about. Prime Media is still a big company, and going against them will be difficult. I was going to have Lawyer Lin handle your case, but you beat me to it."

He knew Jiang Yue was unlikely to seek his help in resolving the matter, so he tried to assist in any way he could.
