Jiang Yue's phone vibrated for a few minutes after she sent the photo.2

Her brow furrowed; she thought that Luo Zhelan would only notice it in the next several hours because she knows that he was always busy.

She responded to his message an assent then she got back and focused on the discussion.

Their papers on the various subjects were returned, and each question was reviewed in detail.

Class Eleven, which had just about half of the students listening to the discussion before, suddenly had nearly everyone excited to go over the exam questions.

The teachers were taken aback by their students' enthusiasm during the discussion.

Aside from the fact that the majority of them improves, there was another thing that made all Class Eleven students giddy with excitement, they won the bet!

They'll have Class One soon clean up their hallways for a month!

Some of them can't sit still in their chairs because they're thrilled about seeing Class One's expression.

Class One, on the other hand, despite having the highest average score of all eleven classes, has a heavy atmosphere in the room, as if one wrong move and the tight atmosphere could explode at any moment. 

The one who felt the most ashamed on the inside was Xia Mingzhou.

She may have accepted it if Jiang Xiu had surpassed her and Cheng Jiayi still had the highest score, but this is not the case!

Not only did Jiang Xiu outperform her, but she also took first place!

She never imagined this day would come.

She had guarded herself against Jiang Yue because she was scared the girl would use the mock examination to show off her capabilities, but it was Jiang Xiu who showed a significant improvement in academics instead.

When lunchtime arrived, everyone began to arrange their books on their tables as they prepared to go to the canteen.

"Are we going to clean Class Eleven's hallway, Mingzhou?" Lai Li, who was standing alongside her, inquired, her face clouded. 

Lai Li was still stunned by the mock examination results, but she had no choice but to accept them.

Xia Mingzhou thought of methods to avoid doing their end of the bet, "Perhaps we should ask for Teacher Zhu's help? She will probably help us, after all, the school has people to clean the hallways."

San Fang agreed and the others seconded the motion, but then a voice exclaimed, "You're going to renege on the bet?"

They turned their heads and surprisingly it was Cheng Jiayi, she then continued in a voice filled with mocking, "Then Class Eleven had been right the whole time, you all are shameless."

"Cheng Jiayi!" Lai Li's expression darkened even more, "Do you think that this would have happened if you hadn't let Jiang Xiu have the highest score?" 

"Do you seriously think I let her score? Furthermore, why are you solely blaming me? Why don't you also blame Xia Mingzhou?" 

"Mingzhou had always come in second, and you've always come in first! Who do you think we should hold accountable then?" Another of their classmates exclaimed, but her remarks made Xia Mingzhou bite her inside cheek.

Cheng Jiayi scoffed, "Get your facts straight! This bet wasn't initiated by me."

"Enough, your behavior isn't that of model students already," the Class Monitor said to the two confronting groups.

"Let's just fulfill our part of the wager," then he said to Xia Mingzhou, "It was your group that started this, so don't even try to pull any tricks."

"Let's stop fighting about it and just get it done. Every student in the school is aware of the situation, so it would be disastrous for Class One's reputation if we did not participate in the bet," The Class Monitor admonished, and their other classmates who had been listening concurred.

Although they were humiliated, it is even more terrible to make a bet and renege on it.

However, it was a different case for Xia Mingzhou.

She could only bite the inside of her cheek as her hatred-filled eyes shifted toward Cheng Jiayi.

When nearly everyone had left to go to the canteen, she grabbed the girl's arm as Cheng Jiayi was about to leave as well. 

"Xia Mingzhou, what do you want?" growled Cheng Jiayi as she sought to free the girl's grip on her arm." 

"Cheng Jiayi, don't forget that you're much below me now in terms of academics and family background,'' Xia Mingzhou mocked, a prideful grin slowly growing on her lips, "so it's better if you stop going against me."

Cheng Jiayi's expression darkened as she smacked the girl's hand which only made Xia Mingzhou glare at her more.

"Do you think I went against you just now to provoke you?" Cheng Jiayi scoffed, still as haughty as ever, but what she said next made Xia Mingzhou furrow her brows, "I stopped you from playing tricks because Class One would be involved in this matter again and I know Jiang Yue will not let us get away with it." 

"What exactly do you mean?"

This time it was Cheng Jiayi who went close to her and whispered, "Who do you think caused the Cheng Family to be in this state?"

Xia Mingzhou squinted her eyes and she couldn't help but say, "Cheng Jiayi, stop saying nonsense."

Although she said that, deep down she knew that Cheng Jiayi was telling the truth because she knew the girl was never the type of person to lie.

"I don't care if you want to dig your own grave, but don't drag other people with you," Cheng Jiayi said as she stepped back and patted the spot where Xia Mingzhou had gripped her as if disgusted.

Then she looked at the girl again, her eyes still filled with pride, "Xia Mingzhou, I may be beneath you now but who knows what happens in the future, you might end up worse than me, so don't be so arrogant."
