Her heart just skipped a beat
When Jiang Xiu exited the restroom, the scene that greeted her was Jiang Yue pinning someone to the wall and another female kicking the said person on the shin.2
She's not sure if she should approach them, but Jiang Yue has already noticed her.
"What happened?" she inquired, puzzled.
"This man stole something from her," Jiang Yue stated, motioning towards the girl who had already stopped kicking the man, "It'll be settled in a while, wait for me."
Jiang Xiu nodded and just as she did, two security personnel came up to them.
The girl informed the security personnel of the incident, and they took hold of the man who was still pushed against the wall.
"I did not steal her phone!" the man said again, his teeth clenched.
"Stop denying it already!" exclaimed the girl, "There are CCTV around, so don't think you'll be able to get away with this."
"The CCTV won't help, there were too many people just a while ago and he bumped into you at an angle where his hands can't be seen," Jiang Yue said after hearing the girl's words.
The man's face brightened up, but the girl became concerned and questioned, "Then what proof should I use against him?"
"You can get your phone checked on the fingerprints left behind it," Jiang Yue said, motioning towards her phone, "that would be enough to prove it."
The girl nodded, relieved that she still has a way to pin the bastard from stealing from her. Even though he had no intention of inappropriately touching her, she would not let him get away with it!
"I think you can already handle it from here, so we'll go now," Jiang Yue said, but Jiang Xiu couldn't help but propose, "How about we just escort her out?"
She thought about it for a moment and then nodded.
The three of them followed the two security guards who were already dragging the man who was still yelling that he didn't steal the phone.
When they finally arrived at the door, Jiang Yue and Jiang Xiu were about to leave when the girl abruptly exclaimed, "Wait—" When the two girls turned towards her, she then continued, "Thank you so much, this couldn't have been settled this quickly if it hadn't been for you," She said with a grateful smile on her face.
"It's nothing," the girl in the black cap nodded, "I saw it happen and I can't just do nothing."
"But I'm still really grateful that you helped me," she bowed to the two, "thank you!"
"Is there any way I can repay the favor?" she inquired, wanting to express her gratitude for the help they provided.
The girl in the black cap flicks her hand, apparently uninterested in what she just stated, "It's fine."
"No, I'm serious, you can request anything and I'll gladly fulfill it. It's my way of saying thank you," she noticed the girl with the cap wrinkle her brows, making her anxious because she was scared she was being too pushy.
"If you don't have anything to ask for—" Just as she was about to remark that she won't push the matter any longer, the girl with the black cap said, "Just take care of yourself, that would be enough of me."
She was taken aback by the girl's statement and her hand couldn't help but touch her chest.
Did her heart just skip a beat?
Just as she was gonna say something, the girl in the black cap picked up her phone and said something along the line that they were about to go back.
"We'll go now, take care!" said the other girl who had just approached them.
She stood there, staring at the two backs that were slowly going away from her until they were no longer visible since they had turned around a corner.
"Miss, we've already called the police, and they'll be here in a few minutes," one of the security personnel said, jolting her back to reality.
"Oh my goodness, I didn't get their name!" she cried out to herself as she followed where the two had just gone. However, she no longer saw them among the tens of people walking down the corridor.
"That was so stupid of me, who returns a favor without even getting their name," she scolded herself as she returned to the security personnel.
It didn't take long for the cops to arrive and get the man into the car and she drove her own to the police station.
When she arrived, one of the officers asked for her information and details about what had occurred, "What's your name, Miss?"
She answered, "Fu Xifeng."
"Age?"
"21."
"Kindly fill in this information, please. Another uniformed officer will speak to you, and you just have to state what happened." She nodded and filled in her other information, and, as the officer had indicated, another officer spoke to her and she stated all that had transpired.
The police officer then requested CCTV footage of the corridor where the crime occurred, and, as the girl in the black cap had stated, they had to examine her phone for a fingerprint.
However, before handing over her phone, she called her brother.
"Brother," she greeted and the other person on the end replied, "Do you need anything?"
"Well, I'm in the police station right now."
Fu Liwei, who was already inside the stadium and on his way to his newly purchased seat, inquired in a worried and concerned tone, "What are you doing there? Did anything happen?"
She told him everything that had just occurred.
"Why are you even in the Stadium?!" Fu Liwei yelled at the phone as he massaged his brow.
What is his sister up to now?
"I knew you'd be going to Brother Zhe, so I followed you! Why didn't you bring me with you?" She couldn't help but sulk at the thought that none of them would be bringing her along when they went out anymore.
"I'll go there, wait for me." She hummed an assent and ended the call.
Because there is already a suspect, the fingerprinting process took less than an hour when Fu Liwei arrived. Although there was another person's fingerprint on it, which belonged to the girl in the black cap, the police did not inquire further because they had previously examined the CCTV footage, which showed that the girl had not even been near Fu Xifeng.
Fingerprints alone are insufficient to result in a conviction, but with the CCTV footage, the fingerprint was offered as additional evidence, which was sufficient to condemn the accused person.
Fu Liwei then settled the remaining matters.
