She's like a rose, beautiful but with thorns
Fu Xifeng grabbed the uniformed officer and questioned, "There are three fingerprints on the phone, right? Mine, the suspect, and someone else?" Her tone of voice was higher, as she was excited when she thought about it, "Can you then identify the individual whose fingerprint that is?"2
"We can't identify the person because her fingerprint hasn't been recorded," the officer said, shaking his head, "those on whom we have data were convicted criminals, therefore we can't determine her identity unless she has previously been convicted."
Fu Xifeng's smile became strained as she nodded and thanked the officer.
Fu Liwei seeing the disheartened look on his sister, asked with a furrowed brow, "You didn't ask for the name of the person who helped you?"
She shook her head, and Fu Liwei flicked the girl's forehead, causing her mouth to droop as she looked at her brother.
"Did you forget what Mom told us?"
She massaged the part her brother just flicked as she answered, "To be grateful— but I did ask them if I could return the favor and they only said that I should take care of myself."
Fu Liwei raised his brow when he heard the specifics, "They didn't take advantage of it?"
Fu Xifeng shook her head again as she sat in one of the seats, explaining, "At first, I thought they would, but they don't seem interested in my offer, and they left immediately, so I forgot to get their names."
When she was seventeen, there was also an incident where she was also helped by a random person, and to thank him, she asked if there was any way she could return the favor, and unlike the other two girls, that person seemed to know her identity and asked for a position in their family's company.
Her brother was aware of it, and they did hire that person as they had promised, however, they discovered months later that he was abusing his position because everyone knew he had once saved President Fu's daughter.
"You're not that famous for them to know you, and they might have taken your offer if they knew your identity," Fu Liwei stated another possibility, however, his sister merely gave him a sidelong glance.
"No, I don't think it would matter to them even if they knew my identity, and excuse me, do I look like a nobody?" She asked with confidence, gesturing from her head to her foot.
He could only arch his brow, knowing the girl had a point.
Fu Xifeng was dressed in designer clothes from head to toe, even the little earrings she was wearing cost thousands of dollars.
"Good thing you weren't wearing anything on your hand, or it might have been stolen as well."
"Yeah, the thing is, I left the watch you gave to me at Brother Zhe's house," she admitted quietly.
The issue about that watch was that it had a tracker on it, which Fu Liwei sometimes used when he couldn't get a hold of her.
Seeing that her brother's countenance had darkened and he was about to start into another round of scolding, she quickly changed the subject, "But Brother, the girl who helped me was cool. She even requested the man to apologize to me, and when he refused, she grabbed his arms like this," she copied the movements of the girl with the cap, but because she isn't familiar with how to do it, she looks rather foolish doing it, which made Fu Liwei chuckle.
"In a matter of seconds, she pinned him to the wall! I was speechless when I saw it because it happened so quickly— and oh! She even appears to be younger than me! I believe she's nineteen or eighteen."
"She must have had some sort of training if she's that fast."
"Agh! I'd like to meet her again, and the girl she was with was also really nice! She even offered that they escort me, and oh yeah, I forgot to mention that both of them are pretty, but the one with the black cap is especially lovely," She thought about how she should explain it, "She's like— she's like a rose, beautiful but with thorns that would prick you. If I were a man, I'd be captivated—"
When Fu Liwei heard what she was saying taking a weird turn, he stopped her and said, "Okay, that's enough, let's go. I'll have someone to check on this matter."
"Brother, if we ever get the chance to meet them again, I'll introduce you to her. I'm sure you'll like her, and then I'll have her as my sister-in-law."
Fu Liwei flicked the girl's forehead again, forcing her to back away while pouting, "Stop letting your imagination run wild."
If he just let her continue, she might wind up talking about her future niece or nephew.
"You're already twenty-one, and you're still acting like a fifteen-year-old," he admonished the girl, although his voice is tinged with pampering rather than sternness.
"Please, I'm not that old yet, and I'm the Fu Family's only girl, so what do you expect?" She responded, grabbing her brother's arm as they walked out, "Wait, did you just call me immature?" She asked in disbelief and stopped in place, causing Fu Liwei to stop also.
"Did I?"
"You said I act like a fifteen-year old!"
"Yes, that's what I said, I didn't call you immature."
"That's the same thing!"
Knowing that she will still turn his words around, he said, "Well, you were kind of immature—"
"I am not! I'm even mature enough to handle my own club."
"That was given to you," he mentioned which only earned him a glare from the girl.
"I made it to what it is now!"
"Yes, yes I know," he nodded, "but there isn't really a connection between being mature and owning a club," he said which made Fu Xifeng remove her hand around her as she was about to sulkily leave.
Seeing how upset she was, he could only give in and say, "Who told you you're immature? You're the most mature person I ever know."
Hearing his words, she stopped and went back to him with a grin on her face, "I know right, Brother!"
Fu Liwei's lips twitched.
"Are you still planning on seeing Brother Zhe?" She inquired, and Fu Liwei paused before shaking his head, "Let's just go back, don't tell me you still want to meet him?"
"No, I just want to go home for the time being. I don't have the energy to chase him today."
Fu Liwei's lips twitched in response to what she had just said, and he couldn't help but say, "Stop chasing him already, if he had feelings for you, he would have acted on it before."
"Just because there is nothing now, does not mean there is nothing in the future either! Feelings could be developed."
"Well he's developing feelings with another person now," he said, prompting the girl to look at him with narrowed eyes.
"Wait, what did you just say?"
"He wasn't kidding when he said he found a granddaughter-in-law for Grandma Luo, and I can tell he likes that person," he reminded her, hoping she would quit liking his friend.
Apart from the fact that Luo Zhelan has found someone he likes, he also does not want any of his buddies to be with his sister.
Although they were great friends, none of them were good in romantic relationships, and he doesn't want any of his friends to break his sister's heart.
"Well, he still has to get Grandma and Grandpa Luo's approval and also his parents' approval. If that day comes, then I'll stop chasing him."
Fu Xifeng massaged his throbbing head, "Are you sure?"
"Yes! You know I always follow through on my promises!"
He nodded and said, "Then let's wait for that day."
He believed it wouldn't be long before Luo Zhelan introduced Jiang Yue to his family.
