They entered the place and proceeded to the room that they had previously reserved.

Mao Shi and Lawyer Lin were already there when they arrived.

The 25 million was for contract termination of the remaining four years, while the remaining 5 million was for investments in any of his ongoing projects. 

"This isn't a difficult issue to resolve because they will be compelled to sign the termination once Zheng Qingsheng wins his lawsuit over their alleged refusal to provide settlement reports. Do you want to concurrently pursue your lawsuit for breach of contract and plagiarism with his, or after it has been resolved?" 

Jiang Yue tapped her finger on the table as she considered it, then said, "Let's file it later. For the time being, let's get some news outlets to cover Zheng Qingsheng's contract termination." 

Given how Prime Media Entertainment works, she will most likely be used as a scapegoat in this matter.

After their discussion, Mao Shi, Jiang Yue, and Jiang Xiu went to another place as Jiang Yue want to let the two catch up.

"How is your application coming along?" Jiang Yue inquired of Mao Shi after a while, and the woman replied, "I still haven't heard anything from them, but I did apply for five companies. Although I don't have a lot of work on my portfolio, it is still possible for small companies to accept me." 

Jiang Yue's brows furrowed, "Do you want me to help you?" 

Mao Shi paused before shaking her head, "No, there's no need. I want to join a company based on my own merits," she said as she placed her glass on the table, "It gives me a sense of feeling that I worked hard for it." 

Jiang Yue nodded, knowing that Mao Shi would say so, which is why she didn't settle her transfer.

"Anyway, let me ask you both which college university you intend to attend, you're about to take the National College Entrance Examination, right? Is it the next month?" 

Jiang Xiu nodded, "Sister and I chose Capital University as our first choice." 

"That's good," Mao Shi said, nodding, "Although they have high admission scores, I don't believe it's difficult for the two of you."

"What about you? How have you been doing the last few days?" Jiang Yue couldn't help but wonder when she noticed Mao Shi seemed to have something on her mind.

Mao Shi's smile gradually faded as she heard her question. 

"To be honest, I still can't believe this is happening right now," she said, running her hands across her face, "it might just be a contract termination for others, but for me, it's far more than that— I'm finally free from Yan Chun Hua's clutches."

She looked down and seeing her trembling hands, she tried to compose herself as she said, "I had been desperate to free myself from her but when I have nothing, how can I? I could only endure everything and continue with my life. After all, when you think about it, I'm still living a better life than most people." 

When she looked up and saw that they were listening to her, she couldn't help but say, "You must be thinking that I'm pathetic, she hasn't even hurt me physically yet I'm this afraid of her. Yan Chun Hua, she's— how do I say this... she can make me question my worth and even my own identity." 

Jiang Xiu's palm on her lap clenched as she listened to the woman in front of her; they may be in different circumstances, but she understands exactly what Mao Shi was feeling.

"Living under her grasp for more than a decade, she has this control over me— she knows me very well to the point that she can have me crying on the floor questioning my whole life. But the thing is— I let her do it in the first place, I lowered my guard and let her in and now it had come to this." 

Mao Shi turned towards Jiang Yue, "I mean, don't get me wrong Xiao Yue, I am very grateful for your help and I was so happy about it. You gave me hope just as I was about to give up and now I could finally live for myself, but when... when I told my grandma about this," her voice quivered as her heart felt so heavy that she could barely breathe, but she continued, "I— I thought she would be happy for me too... that I want to take my path and I don't want anything to do with the Yan Family anymore, but she said she was disappointed in me." 

Her head dropped as tears welled up in her eyes and began to roll down her cheeks, "She said that how could I do that to my own family? How can I make that decision so quickly?"
