How she met Jiang Yue
Days had passed since the day they went to the mental hospital. 1
Jiang Yue settled everything she had in the Capital before deciding to leave for Country F to find out more about Feng De as classes will soon start next month and she might not have the time to investigate this matter on her own.
"Are you sure about this?" Sunshine asked as she handed the girl's black backpack to her as Jiang Yue was going through her phone.
The girl looked up and remarked, "What are you being so nervous about? I won't stay there forever. I might even come back just after a week."
"The southern part of Country F is undergoing a surge in civil unrest right now, it might not be safe. The last time that we were there—" She wasn't able to finish her words as it might bring back unpleasant memories.
She had met the girl in the southern part of Country F around five years ago. Jiang Yue at that time was still a child around 13 years old while she was 21 years old. Sunshine was just starting to travel from one country to another at that time and what she can do wasn't that widespread yet so she has no problem with her identity at that time.
When she met Jiang Yue, it was when there was civil unrest in City F as well.
It was because numerous children had been missing and the government wasn't doing a thing, prompting people to start rallies and riots and it ended with hundreds of people wounded from the said demonstration, and Sunshine was there to provide medical assistance at that time.
Who would have known that one midnight while she was going back to her place, she would see a person leaning on a lamppost while seating on the ground in an alley that was blocked off due to pickets that day?
Sunshine continued driving the car that she rented at that time, however, when she saw the person trying to stand up just to fall on the ground in her rearview mirror, she couldn't help her curiosity and turned the car around.
And she saw a girl who had passed out with her face already pale from the blood loss.
Her left hand was full of fresh blood dripping to her arm, and although the girl was wearing a black shirt at that time, she was still able to notice the blood on the girl's left chest because of how damp with blood her shirt was.
Sunshine immediately put pressure on the girl's left chest to stop the bleeding and helped the girl to her car as the weather was freezing at that time and the girl's temperature was already dropping low due to blood loss.
She then went to the nearest hospital, however, the girl who was laying on the back seat of her car whom Sunshine expected to be on her last breath as the girl had lost too much blood, her body starting to become feverish, and her wound was starting to get infected, had started to gain color in her face and had already woken up.
She would never forget what happened that night. It was something too impossible to happen that if it happened to others and they told her about it, she wouldn't even believe a word about it.
The girl in the back seat had already sat up with her left hand on her chest as she held the gauze that she had put to stop the bleeding.
Jiang Yue who was only 13 years old at that time, was as cold as ice and her gaze at that time when she looked at her gave her shivers down her spine. Sunshine's thought that came to her mind when the girl gazed at her was that was it the right choice to save the girl as she was looking at her as though she was going to kill her.
The girl's gaze held too much, that Sunshine even thought if the girl has already experienced everything.
'There's no need to go to a hospital, I'm fine. Just give me some pills for the fever.'
Those were the words that Jiang Yue had never said to her.
A child who was bleeding to her death just said she was fine and some pills would be enough for her.
Sunshine didn't believe her words and checked on the girl. Threatening the girl if she doesn't let her check her, she would admit her to the hospital and Jiang Yue allowed her to check on her wounds.
And when she did, she didn't know if her eyes were playing tricks on her as the wound that she had seen just less than half an hour ago, had already started to close.
Not only that, the wound on the girl's hand which Sunshine thought a knife just pierced through it as there was a hole in her palm, started to close— it wasn't just clotting, it literally started to close and heal which mostly takes around 10 days for it to do so.
Sunshine who was in disbelief at that time, agreed to the girl's words and she took her to where she was staying. Aside from the time when she helped Jiang Yue when the girl was passed out in the alley, she hadn't helped the girl that much as it was Jiang Yue who dealt with her wound.
With her left hand still having a big wound on it, the girl stitched the wound she has on her left chest, then only asked for Sunshine's help to stitch her wound on her hand.
Sunshine had never questioned the girl about what happened that night nor did she ever try to bring it up.
She knew it was something that the girl wouldn't tell her a word about it.
Jiang Yue had always been a person who won't show her struggles and would deal with her problems on her own, she had seen with her own eyes how the girl stitch the wound on her left chest despite having a slash on her palm as the girl refuse to ask for her help.
From that day, the two had become friends and Jiang Yue had always been grateful for what she did that night. So when people with power and influence started to track her for her medical service, Jiang Yue offered to erase her tracks, allowing her to just go wherever she wants to.
Sunshine wasn't anxious about the girl's safety because there was civil unrest in City F, it was because she didn't know what happened that night and she doesn't know if the people who are responsible for harming Jiang Yue at that time are still after her now.
