Back in the Capital

Jiang Yue after making her decision had decided to message the person who was selling the information about Inferno.

She was curious as to how he had obtained all of the information he was selling for half a billion dollars.

She had a feeling the individual had worked within Inferno.

However, the man had not responded, which was understandable given that most sellers do not go out of their way to accept more offers if it is not indicated in their service description.

Jiang Yue shut down her laptop and prepared to return to the Capital.

She stayed with Xu Wuying for another day before returning home.

When she returned, she had no idea that someone had stirred up trouble for her to deal with.

Capital, Luo Corporation.

Two people are in the lounge of Luo Zhelan's office, namely Qin Zirui and Fu Liwei.

Qin Zirui was asleep on the couch while Fu Liwei had just arrived.

Seeing his friend dead asleep, Fu Liwei with no hesitation, slapped the man awake.

"Fuck, are you out of your mind?" Qin Zirui snarled as he ran his hand through his hair and sat up straight.

"Do you know what's going on with Brother Zhe? He looked as though he just discovered a cure for some incurable disease." Fu Liwei stated to which Qin Zirui replied with a sneer.

"What else would be the reason? Of course, it's Miss Jiang, anything out of the ordinary about him is most likely due to her." 

Fu Liwei only gave him a sidelong glance, not believing a word he said.

Qin Zirui, seeing his expression, added, "I mean, have you seen how he acted after he was supposed to leave during the dinner banquet? I'm telling you, he's hiding something and I could already guess that he's in a relationship with Miss Jiang."

"What?" scoffed Fu Liwei, "You're now a relationship expert? If Gao Jing had stated those words, I would have believed him. Besides, once their relationship is confirmed, Brother Zhe would have informed us."

"How about we place a wager on it?"

"Then you're just purposely losing."

"No, I'm serious. I'll put my Breguet watch on it."

"No, I'm not interested."

"Then a hundred thousand dollars."

This time, Fu Liwei was stumped.

He turned to face Qin Zirui, who was wearing a triumphant grin on his face, and could only clench his teeth, "200 hundred thousand."

"Deal."

"You'd better not back out of the wager."

"When did I even do that?"

"You haven't but you're the kind of person who would do so." Fu Liwei responded just as the door opened, and the main character of their discussion finally appeared.

"What are you two doing here?" Luo Zhelan, who had just returned from the Research Organization, asked the two.

"Jia Su is throwing a welcome dinner because she just returned to Country S and is staying here in the Capital permanently, she invited us." Qin Zirui said.

Luo Zhelan who was looking for something on his table stopped, "Who's Jia Su?"

Qin Zirui was speechless when he heard it, so he clarified, "She's the daughter of Vice Mayor Jia and your batchmate. I'm familiar with her because we were classmates in various subjects."

Luo Zhelan was the oldest among the four, followed by Fu Liwei, who was only a few months younger than him. Despite an insignificant age difference, Luo Zhelan had always been ahead of the other three in his courses.

They doubt they'd be friends if their families weren't connected because of Luo Zhelan's disparity between them. That's why, no matter what, they had to bring this man out now and then so he didn't bury himself in his work.

"You go, I'm not interested," Luo Zhelan replied, turning to face Fu Liwei and asking, "What are you doing here?" he inquired, recalling Fu Liwei's recent visit to the Luo Corporation over a specific matter.

"What else? Xifeng's been bugging me to ask you about Miss Jiang, she said she can't contact her," Fu Liwei said dryly, tired of what his sister had made him do.

"You could have just messaged me about it."

"You're not replying."

"Then you could have just waited for me to reply," Luo Zhelan responded as he grabbed his phone and checked his messages and calls to see whether Jiang Yue had contacted him again.

"Yang Lei just told us you've been busy in the Research Organization, you're going back there again?" Qin Zirui couldn't help but wonder when he noticed Luo Zhelan didn't appear to be staying at his office.

Aside from the times he had to depart for business travels, he basically goes back and forth between the Research Organization and The Luo Corporation.

Luo Zhelan just merely shook his head.

Fu Liwei could see his exhausted expression and how dark his undereye circles are. He couldn't help but comment as he was worried, "You should go easy on yourself, or Auntie will be upset again if something happens to you."

Not to mention that his grandma is still sick. Anything that happens to him will only worsen the old lady's condition.

"I just need to finish some matters these past few days as Jiang Yue is going back today," Luo Zhelan said, his face brightening somewhat.

"You're going to pick her up?" Qin Zirui asked, his excitement couldn't be held in just thinking about the 200 hundred thousand he'll win from the bet.

Luo Zhelan glanced at Qin Zirui and his forehead couldn't help but crease when he notice his behavior.

Qin Zirui immediately cleared his throat, and asked as though it was just a casual question, "You two are getting pretty close now? What's the status between you two?"

"I'll tell you soon enough," Luo Zhelan nonchalantly responded, however, Qin Zirui doesn't need to wait for him to tell them as he could already guess based on how his brows relaxed and how the corners of his lips perked up.

There's no doubt the two had already confirmed their relationship or else he would just say that he's still pursuing her!

200 hundred thousand was already in the bag!

"Okay, okay," Qin Zirui nodded happily, 'Then go, don't make Miss Jiang wait."

Fu Liwei could guess from Luo Zhelan's demeanor as well, making him complicated about what to feel as he just lost 200 hundred thousand, but he was still happy that his friend had finally found someone as his partner.

Luo Zhelan nodded and turned to leave.

Capital, Airport.

Jiang Yue had previously informed Luo Zhelan and Jiang Xiu that she would be returning today, and the former had offered to pick her up, which she accepted.

However, just as she had opened her phone, a call came in immediately, she expected it to be Luo Zhelan, but instead, it was Sunshine, prompting her brows to furrow as she didn't expect it.

She thought Sunshine had already forgotten about her as she was too busy pursuing someone.

Jiang Yue answered the phone, but before she could say anything, an unfamiliar voice on the other end said, "Hello, is this Miss Jiang?"2

Her brows furrowed but she still answered, "Yes, is there any problem? Why are you in possession of my friend's phone?" 

"Good day Miss Jiang, this is Officer Dao from the Capital Police Station, Miss Zuo is currently being detained in the Police Station." 

Jiang Yue felt as though her ears were playing tricks on her as she couldn't believe what the other person just said. 

What did that woman get herself into this time? 

She was just gone for a week and the very next second she came back to the Capital, Sunshine was detained at the Police Station.

"Can I please talk to her?" She asked, to which the man replied, "Oh, you can't." 

She was going to retort that she had the right to talk to Sunshine despite her detention when the next man's statements caused her to close her eyes hard and rub her creased forehead.

"She went back to sleep after just telling me to call you with her phone; she's charged with malicious damage to property; please come here immediately."

The call ended and Jiang Yue couldn't help but sigh. 

She really can't leave that woman alone. 

She might as well just hire someone to follow after Sunshine just so she won't be worried about what she would get herself into. 

She had chosen to handle this situation first, so she texted Luo Zhelan and asked him to simply pick her up from the Police Station.

Jiang Yue boarded a cab to the Police Station, which she had visited several times previously.

Jiang Yue with her black bag slung on her shoulder entered the police station and went immediately to the information desk and ask for Sunshine using her real identity which was 'Zuo Liuxian'.

"She was charged with malicious destruction of property by the owner of the Q & K Club, Zhu Bi."

"Where is she? May I see her?" Jiang Yue asked.

"She's in the detention cell," the woman at the information desk said, nodding. "An officer will lead you there."

Jiang Yue thanked the woman and an officer lead her, but just as they were about to go to the detention cell, another officer appeared— one that Jiang Yue was quite familiar with.
