Detained in a police station
Jiang Yue didn't know what to do.
Should she act as though she didn't know her or pretend she hadn't seen the officer?
However, before her eyes could shift away, the female officer had already turned to her, prompting her to stop in place.
Seeing the woman's expression change, Jiang Yue could already guess that the female officer had remembered who she was.
She smiled at the woman and greeted, "Officer Gu, hello."
Office Gu nodded at her and she had a pleasant expression, as though the girl she had just seen wasn't someone who had been reported several times in the Police Station.
"I haven't seen you for years," Officer Gu started, "if it weren't for your discernible face, I doubt I'd be able to recognize you."
Jiang Yue couldn't help but touch the tip of her nose as she didn't know what to reply.
Months after she had created Altersky, she stayed in the Capital and she went back to her old self who would play games all day and participate in fights. Some of her opponents would set her up so that she'll be caught by police officers to teach her a lesson, or it would just be that someone reported her for starting a fight when in fact, she doesn't as long as she wasn't provoked.
This had happened several times that Jiang Yue was already familiar with several police officers in the Capital, and among them, Officer Gu was the person who had gotten closer to her the most.
Officer Gu was someone who was around the age of 30 years old when Jiang Yue was a child, and during the time they had known each other, her husband just left her because she was infertile, causing the woman to be alone in life and instead focus her whole attention on her career.
So when Jiang Yue had several times been to the police station, Officer Gu couldn't help but pity her at that time and even wanted to adopt her as she thought that the little girl had no family, but Jiang Yue refused.
They had never kept in touch after that and Jiang Yue didn't expect she'd be back in the same police station.
"You look so grown up now, very different from the little girl that would always be reported for beating people."
"Uh, thank you, Officer Gu," She stiffly stated.
"What are you doing here? Don't tell me you beat someone up again?"
She shook her head, "Ah no, I came here for my friend. She was charged with malicious damage to property."
'Oh, I know who you're talking about," Officer Gu turned to the other officer who was supposed to lead Jiang Yue, "I'll lead her to the cell, you can go."
The Officer nodded and left right away, Jiang Yue then followed after Officer Gu.
Seeing that the woman looks fine and healthy, she couldn't help but ask, "How are you these past few years Officer Gu?"
The woman who looked around 40 years old now replied with a smile, "I'm doing better, I adopted a child and she's around 8 years old now."
Jiang Yue couldn't help but smile hearing those words from her, "That's good, I'm happy for you and you looked like you moved up from the ranks."
She pointed out when she noticed that the woman's uniform was much darker than she had remembered it to be. Police Officer's rank could be determined by the color of their uniforms, the darker it is, the higher their rank is.
Office Gu laughed lightly, "Yes, I'm in a corporal position now, which is not pretty bad. If you ever need my help, don't hesitate to ask me. For me, you're still that little girl that would give me advice that was too mature for your age."
The corner of her lips couldn't help but perk up as she nodded.
Advice that was too mature for her age?
She doubt it was even considered as advice cause what she remembered was just cursing her ex-husband at that time.
"Oh right, congratulations on being the National Top Scorer. When I read your name that was being broadcasted as the National Top Scorer of our country I couldn't believe it at first. I knew you were smart when you were a kid but not that kind of smart. No wonder you can outsmart some of the officers."
It was only then that Jiang Yue remembered her identity as the National Top Scorer.
She felt like months had already gone by since the National College Entrance Examination when in fact it was just more than a month ago.
"Thank you, Officer Gu."
It didn't take long before they arrived at the detention cell which was also a place familiar to Jiang Yue, however seeing the person she was there for, she was speechless.
The detention cell was just a small room however it has a bed on the side for the detainee to use, however, Sunshine was instead laying on the cold hard floor asleep.
Her black long hair was all over the floor and she was covered with a blanket, probably it was the officers who had covered her as she was wearing a dress.
Jiang Yue couldn't help but rub her forehead as she felt helpless deep inside.
"She probably drank too much last night. After she had wrecked Q & K club and was detained here, she was immediately knocked out and it was only around an hour ago that she woke up, but she fell asleep again."
Jiang Yue nodded, "Do you know the details of her case?"
Officer Gu nodded, "I was here last night and she had been so handful that the officers who were present last night as well had heard about what happened."
"Had she contacted a lawyer already?"
"I think she hasn't yet, she was barely in the right state of mind to even talk."
"I'll contact a lawyer for her. How much is the value of the property that she had damaged?"
"Just around 80 thousand yuan."
Jiang Yue nodded and was just about to call Lawyer Lin to recommend her some lawyers as it was just a small case and getting him to act on Sunshine's case is like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut, when she suddenly got a call.
Luo Zhelan was calling her, which she answered right away.
"Where are you? I'm outside the police station." He asked on the other end of the phone.
"I'm inside, just stay there, I'll go out right away," Jiang Yue stated and ended the call.
She turned towards the woman beside her, "Officer Gu, I'll leave now, I'll come back later."
"Okay, you take care."
Jiang Yue went out and she couldn't help but halt in her place when she saw the person that had been on her mind since she left.
She had been gone for a week yet it felt like she had been gone for a month as a lot of things had happened.
Luo Zhelan was leaning on the hood of his car, his eyes closed, apparently dozing as she noted his dark under eyes.
Although she knew he was busy, she also knew he had enough time to do whatever he desires if he wanted to, which is why she accepted his offer. But, in order for him to appear so fatigued, he must have been busier than usual.
Jiang Yue approached him just in time for Luo Zhelan to open his eyes and straighten his back when he saw her.
"Did something happen?" He inquired, his eyes concernedly scanning her entire body to see if she was okay, finding that she appeared to be fine, his brows relaxed.
Instead of answering his question, Jiang Yue stated, "You could have just told me if your schedule is packed."
Luo Zhelan's brow furrowed once again, not understanding what she was saying, but he eventually said, "Okay, if that's what you want, then I'll tell you about my schedule."
"No, that's not what I meant. You looked fatigued, you could have just told me there was no need to pick me up." Jiang Yue replied that because she had always been on her own and had never relied on anybody, not getting picked up by someone at the airport isn't a huge problem, even if he was her lover.
She just accepted his offer because she wanted to spend time with him.
"Okay, I'll tell you next time and then pick you up."
"That's not what I meant, either."
Luo Zhelan approached her and took her hand, saying, "I'm not picking you up because it's my role as your boyfriend, but because I wanted to do it, so just let me do this one thing."0
Jiang Yue pursed her lips and avoided his gaze, as the way he looked at her was too much for her to bear.
She finally nodded.
She was simply concerned that he would force himself to do things simply because he was her boyfriend, ignoring his health in the process.
"Then do whatever you want," she responded casually, and just as she said those words, she felt a light touch land on her lips.
