I'll wait until you're ready

"He's already engaged," Jiang Yue heard Sunshine mumble under her breath, confusing her with what her friend was saying.

"Huh?"

"I said..."

Knowing that she would just say some nonsense again, Jiang Yue right away stopped her, "Okay, that's enough. Just tell me once you've freshened up, you reek."

Without even waiting for her to say something, she had already hoisted the woman up and assisted her to the comfort room of the police station.

She then gave the bag that consist of the clothes she had bought for Sunshine to her. 

Just when Jiang Yue was considering just going inside as Sunshine was taking too much time just changing clothes, Sunshine finally went out. 

"You could have at least bought me something colorful, why does it have to be all black? I look like a divorced aunt who's going to a funeral," Sunshine mumbled once again without a stop, and Jiang Yue who was just beside her to assist her, gave her a sidelong glance.

"Who's funeral do you think would that be?" She questioned to which the woman beside her responded with a groan, "At least let me die pretty..." 

"Do you think that would be possible with how you look right now?" Jiang Yue responded as they walked to Luo Zhelan and Deputy Chief He who were in a conversation. 

"Do I look that bad?" Sunshine hesitantly asked, causing Jiang Yue to purse her lips. 

"Was there no mirror in the comfort room?"

"There was a mirror in the comfort room?"

"There is supposed to be a mirror in the comfort room." Jiang Yue answered, looking at Sunshine as though she was judging her whole existence. 

Seeing that Jiang Yue and Sunshine had finally gone out from the comfort room, Luo Zhelan said to the older man he was talking to, "Thank you, Deputy Chief He, we'll be leaving now."

Deputy Chief He nodded, "If you need anything, call me."

The three of them went out and entered Luo Zhelan's car, with Sunshine already laying in the back seat as though the driver of the car wasn't the Young Master of the Luo Family. 

"She looks like she's been through a lot last night," Luo Zhelan stated, making Jiang Yue scoff. 

"She managed to break a 60 thousand yuan chandelier that is hanging on a ceiling. It was a miracle no one was hurt or it would be a headache to settle her case." 

Luo Zhelan's lips' twitched when he heard the details. 

He thought Jiang Yue was already hard to handle when drunk but meeting Sunshine for the second time made him realize that his girlfriend was a lot tamer compared to the woman. 

What Luo Zhelan didn't know was that Jiang Yue had managed to break a man's hand that one time she decided to get drunk. 

Sunshine was hard to deal with, while Jiang Yue wasn't one to mess with when drunk.

"You're dangerous when you're drunk," he commented, earning a glance from Jiang Yue. 

"How come?"

"You start to find people to beat up."

Not to mention that honey just flows out from her tongue when she's drunk, making it hard for him who was at the other end of all her attacks. 

Jiang Yue could only purse her lips knowing that it would be possible for her to do that when she's drunk.

"How did you know Deputy Chief He?" He asked after a while. 

Jiang Yue tilted her head, not knowing how to explain it to him, "Uh, I spent some time here in the Capital when I was around 9 years old I think, and I had gotten in a lot of fights and have been detained a few times." 

"A few times?"

"Around 8 times?"

"That's quite a lot indeed," Luo Zhelan said nodding. 

Jiang Yue was silent for a moment as she was hesitating about something. In the end, she couldn't help but ask, "Does that bother you?"

"About what?" Luo Zhelan asked, to which she shrugged, "I don't know, what I've done in the past I guess? My reputation about being a good-for-nothing who only knows how to beat people up?"

Luo Zhelan turned towards her, trying to see her expression when she asked those questions. However, she looked nonchalant as though it wasn't that big of a deal to her, which lightened his heavy feeling that Jiang Yue might be insecure with how big of a disparity they have in their identities. 

"Not really, I knew everything about you when I decided to pursue you." He answered with no hesitation.

Pursuing her after learning what she had done in the past and about her not-so-good reputation means that he had accepted it. 

He has no control and there's nothing he can do about that. What was in his control though was their present and future. 

"Besides, participating in fights doesn't sound that bad, a child at that age tends to be mischievous."

Child? She wasn't 5, she was already 9 years old which was pretty old for her to know not to participate in such activities.

Doesn't sound that bad? Except that she was a girl who was beating boys up. 

Luo Zhelan worded his statement as though he was making reasons for her actions which made Jiang Yue not know what to feel. 

"What did you do when you were 9?" She asked. 

"It's boring compared to yours."

See? It was as though what she had done was interesting for him. 

Luo Zhelan then continued, "Attending different kinds of classes and doing research. Sometimes we would fly to different countries for competitions as well."

Jiang Yue couldn't help but say, "That was indeed boring," prompting Luo Zhelan to laugh. 

"I told you it's pretty boring," he said with a smile on his face, "That's why I would look forward to certain days when Qin Zirui, Gao Jing, Fu Liwei, and I would be allowed to do whatever we want, and we would have a lot of fun on those days." 

Those three were the reasons why his childhood was still considered 'fun', and if not for them, Luo Zhelan could already imagine how boring his childhood would be. 

"You're the kind of person that parents compare their children to."

Luo Zhelan, hearing those words, laughed. 

"Yeah... Aunt Zhen, Gao Jing's mother, would always use me to pressure him to focus on his studies." 

"I could already guess that it didn't work."

"Really?" He chuckled, "he doesn't care when he's being compared to me which probably was the reason why we stayed close after all these years."

The corner of Jiang Yue's lips couldn't help perk up with his remarks. 

She could imagine that despite being in a family like the Luo's, his life might still not be easy. 

"When are you free?" Luo Zhelan asked out of the blue, confusing Jiang Yue. 

"Anytime? Although I'm busy, it isn't something that can't be set aside. Why?"

Luo Zhelan hesitated for a bit before responding, "I want you to meet my mother."

"Ah?"0

Jiang Yue was speechless, as it was out of the blue. 

He already wanted her to meet his mother?

"Don't you think it's too early? We had just been in a relationship for less than a month after all," She couldn't help but say with furrowed brows.

"I don't think it's too early," Luo Zhelan responded. 

What made him not hesitate about introducing Jiang Yue to his family was that he was sure she was someone he wants to spend her life with.

  He then continued, "If you don't want to meet her as of now then I understand." 

Jiang Yue was silent for a moment before saying, "Then how about you set a time for me to meet her?" 

Luo Zhelan's mother is a busy woman, so it's better to set the meeting up according to the older woman's schedule. 

He turned towards her and seeing that she doesn't look so bothered about it, he said, "Are you sure? If you don't want to then you don't have to force yourself. I'll wait until you're ready."

Jiang Yue nodded her head. 

"Don't worry, it's just my mother in the meantime, she was just too eager to meet you to the point that she always bring you up every time we see each other."

Hearing that, the feeling of pressure Jiang Yue was feeling, lightened. However, she didn't expect his last words. 

She glanced at him, confusion all over her face, "You've told her about me?"

"She knew about our relationship from Xifeng, then she confronted me about it and asked to meet you."

"Oh," Jiang Yue nodded. 

She forgot that Fu Xifeng is actually close with the Luo Family. 

"Did she say anything about me?" She couldn't help but ask, knowing that there are kinds of rumors and issues about her that were circulating the internet. 

"She said you were pretty and smart, and asked me how I was able to woo you," Luo Zhelan stated, prompting Jiang Yue to chuckle lightly. 

"You're not making that up now, are you?"

Luo Zhelan turned towards her and raised his brow, "I'm telling you the truth. She might even ask you why you settled for me when you probably have lots of options to choose from."

Jiang Yue once again chuckled, "Do you think the mother of the one and only Young Master Luo would even say that?"

Luo Zhelan laughed in response, "She will."

Jiang Yue shrugged, not believing his words, "You're telling the truth?" She asked, to which Luo Zhelan nodded, "Why would I even lie about it?"

"To convince me to meet your mother?"

"There's no need to convince you. Whether you agree or not, that's it. "

Jiang Yue leaned on the passenger seat, not responding, however, the corner of her lips were perked up and even her eyes were smiling.

"Just wait for the day when you meet her and you'll see that not a word of what I said was a lie."

"Just tell me the date and time, and I'll free my schedule for that day," she stated. 

"Hmm," Luo Zhelan nodded, "I'll tell her."
