This class taught me something valuable
Jiang Yue, who was playing Rule in Rivalry, raised her brow when she saw what the player she was playing with was doing; it was her signature move years ago.1
Her fingers typed in a few seconds, [Where did you learn that?]
Not long after, she received a response.
[From you, it was posted on Weibo.]
[You're really putting your all into this game, aren't you?]
Luo Zhelan who was leaning on his swivel chair, replied, [I want to have my name next to yours on the world ranking.]
When she read his response, Jiang Yue couldn't help but put her hand on her forehead in disbelief.
[You already have your name on the list of the world's wealthiest men; don't bother trying to rank up in this game.]
He chuckled lightly when he read that sentence.
He can't help but turn to Yang Lei, who is looking at him strangely, and inquire, "Am I in the wealthiest men ranking?"
Yang Lei was taken aback by his query, but like any good assistant, he quickly gathered himself and grabbed his phone.
"You're ranked third in the world's wealthiest men ranking."
"Just in the third place?" remarked Luo Zhelan, his brow wrinkled.
Seeing that his Boss isn't pleased with what he just said, Yang Lei immediately said, "This ranking isn't exact, as they only mentioned Luo Corporation. You still have other businesses that people do not have information about."
He nodded then replied to Jiang Yue, [It is still a different matter to have my name next to you.]
[If you want to make it happen, you must play every day for a year without losing a game, and your name will appear below mine.]
His brow furrowed when he received her message, [You've played it straight for a whole year? When were you nine years old? Wasn't that harmful to your health?]
He couldn't help but wonder because she might not have affected her health at the time, but it might in the future.
[Yes, and I assume not because I'm alright now.]
[Did you have a game addiction at the time, or did you just enjoy playing these kind of games?]
Jiang Yue responded to his questions.
[Neither, it was to distract myself.]
When he read that, Luo Zhelan's hand froze in place.
To distract herself?
From what?
He wishes to know more but realized he is not in a position to do so.
"The enemy's base had been destroyed," the game said, drawing his attention back to his phone.
[We'll talk later, our teacher is here.]
Jiang Yue typed out then lowered her phone when Meng Deming entered the class.
They already had their last class for the day, and once their adviser reminds them of their homework, they can head back to their room and return for their night study.
"The National College Entrance Examination is in two weeks; I know some of you have improved, but don't stop studying or that improvement will be lost. I'm not asking that this class have the highest average score for the examination; all I ask is that you have enough scores for your intended universities and colleges."
Meng Deming turned towards one of his students who drag his chair to the side of the back door, "Kang Jinhai get inside," he said in a stern voice and Kang Jinhai could only do so.
He returned his attention and added, "It is still not too late for some of you to focus on studying, and this class taught me something valuable that I hope you all remember," his glance drifted to the students in the back, notably the girl who was leaning on her chair.
Jiang Yue really dumbfounded him during the note incident.
Jiang Xiu astounded him with her ability to improve despite being placed in a class well below her previous one.
Ren Junjie made him proud because the kid had always struggled with mathematics but was able to achieve a 103 out of 150 during the mock examination results.
Class Eleven changed from being the 'lowest class' to being the one that 'improved so much' in a short period of time.
He had never looked down on his students before, but he had also never expected them to achieve something bigger.
"You all made me realize that anything is possible, so I hope you keep that in mind as well," Meng Deming said in a soft tone of voice that he rarely used because he had to yell at them most of the time.
"Don't lose hope, Teacher Meng, your hair will grow back one day," one of the students exclaimed abruptly, causing the entire class to bust out laughing.
Instead of being angry at the student's remark, Meng Deming laughed as well and caressed his nearly bald head, "You think so? I thought I'd barely have any hair left by the end of the school year."
"That's because we were well-behaved!"
"Yeah, we were worried you really go bald from stress so we became obedient."
"You look more handsome than usual Teacher Meng!"
"What's your hair routine Teacher Meng? We want that kind of hairstyle as well."
Meng Deming didn't believe a word they said and simply brushed it off.
"Don't forget what I said to all of you," he stated which the students agreed to then he dismissed the whole class.
The students returned home while the others who stayed in their dormitories returned to their rooms.
Jiang Yue unlocked her laptop and sorted through the files Phantom had given her days before, as she planned to accept a mission.
However, she was once again taken aback when she saw Luo Zhelan's name.
Did he make another request for their network security system?
When Jiang Yue opened the file, it was not what she had expected.
Luo Zhelan proposed an additional $100 million for the Saint Doctor's location.
He is looking for the Saint Doctor?
Jiang Yue took out her phone and dialed a number.
