Was he talking about her and Brother Wei?
Jiang Yue opened her Alipay and sent her a large sum, which caused Jiang Xiu to look at her phone dumbfoundedly when she received her notification.
"Don't be afraid to ask for money from me," she said, and she wired another $50 million to Sunshine to help people devastated by the earthquake.
"I don't need it, though," Jiang Xiu remarked softly.
"You said to Sister Shi that I'm the one taking care of you, so the very least I can do is fulfill it."
Jiang Xiu nodded and didn't hesitate to transfer the money to donate it again, and Jiang Yue saw it and sent money to her account once again.
"Sister..." Jiang Xiu couldn't help but whine, and Jiang Yue didn't even look at her, instead scrolling through the posts on her phone.
Her brow wrinkled as she answered a phone call that came through her phone.
It was their Father's appointed Doctor.
He'd never called her before, so what prompted him to do so?
"Miss Jiang," the doctor on the other end of the phone greeted, and Jiang Yue returned his greeting.
"Did something happen?"
"Actually yes, we were just checking your father's recovery in terms of his consciousness when he suddenly became anxious as if he was saying something, so we gave him a paper to write what he wanted to say, so we let him communicate his thoughts through writing."
"Yes, I understand, could you please get to the point?" Jiang Yue couldn't help but ask, her heart pounding in her chest, "What was written on the paper?"
"We can't make up of it but they look like they were names."
"What was it?"
"He wrote 'Ying Wei' and 'Ying Yue' on it, and then he stopped writing after that. We kept the paper, and we'll give it to you once you've visited the hospital, and I'll update you on his condition."
Jiang Yue thanked the doctor and then hung up the phone.
Ying Wei?
Ying Yue?
Her fingers tapped on her desk as she pondered seriously about it, but her mind couldn't make sense of it.
She doesn't know anyone with those names.
She doesn't know anyone with the surname 'Ying', but when she looks at the first names...
Yue and Wei.
Her muscles became tight and her nerves got tense.
Was her father referring to her and her Brother Wei?
But what did he mean by the same surname— Jiang Yue stood up, her blood running cold.
"Sister, where are you going?"
"Are you going out, Brother Yue?"
"Classes are about to begin!"
Jiang Yue ignored their calls, as if she hadn't heard them, and stepped outside.
She returned to their dorm and took out her laptop.
Her hands were shaking so much that she couldn't even type her password.
She already has an idea of what her father meant by the names, but she wants to be certain.
She accessed the confidential file of Wei's case, which was saved on her laptop and contained his personal information as well as what occurred during the incident.
Jiang Yue skimmed through the files and came to a halt at a piece of specific information.
'Blood Type: AB'
Her eyes widened as she saw the letters, and she felt a rush of disbelief flood over her despite having expected it.
She slumped on the side of the bed and could only close her eyes as her breathing became more rapid.
Her heart sank as she realized the implication of what she just found out.
It can't be true, right?
Is that why her Brother Wei had always been nice to her and taught her everything he knew because they're blood-related?
Because he was her biological brother?
And her father had been aware of it all along?
Why?
What is the purpose of it all?
Jiang Yue closed her eyes and ran her hands over her face, her breathing becoming ragged.
No, she has to figure out what occurred, and her father is the only one who knows everything.
It's possible they only share the same blood type, and the things her father had written were meaningless.
Because if Wei was indeed her brother, it would change everything.
She stood up, took a key from her black bag, and exited the dorm.
She went around the back of the school and leaped over the walls, knowing she wouldn't be able to leave because it was still class time.
When she arrived at Grand Rosso, she walked to the parking lot and retrieved her black motorcycle, which she hadn't used in months.
She put on her helmet and went to New Hope Hospital in the Capital.
When Jiang Yue arrived, she hurried straight to her father's room, where the Doctor was already waiting for her.
"How's his condition?" Jiang Yue said as she approached the side of the bed.
"He's recovering, and his awareness of his surroundings is slowly improving as well; we thought his capacity for thought and conscious behavior was barely improving, but he suddenly keeps opening and closing his mouth as if he wants to say something," the doctor said as he reached for a piece of paper on the side table, "Here it is."
Jiang Yue accepted the paper.
"We tested his reactions immediately after, but it appears that it was only a short time when he became conscious of his thoughts, as this happens occasionally with some vegetative patients."
To allow the girl time to process the information, the doctor said, "Call me if you need anything, Miss Jiang."
She nodded and looked down at the paper she was holding.
It was crumpled, and the words were scrabbled like was done by a child, but the words 'Ying Wei' and 'Ying Yue' could still be read clearly.2
Her grip on the paper tightened, and she set it down and turned to face her father.
"What does this mean, Father?" Jiang Yue questioned gently the man staring blankly at the wall.
"I don't have anyone to ask about this, it was only you who knew about it," she continued, but the man has yet to respond.
Jiang Yue couldn't help but lower her head as she tried to calm her emotions after realizing she wouldn't get a reaction from him.
She simply needs answers since she has been in the dark for far too long.
