National College Entrance Examination

4The day that everyone was waiting for— or for some students dreading— finally came. 

It was finally the start of the National College Entrance Examination in their country. 

Schools are surrounded by Police officers and roads around the schools are blocked, to make sure that nothing happens during the examination.

Millions of students who are in their third and final year of high school are rushing to the schools they were assigned to take the examination. 

Some were escorted were their parents and family while the others went along with their classmates and friends. 

Jiang Yue was together with her sister, Kang Jinhai, Wen Liling, and Wan Zhu, inside the limousine. 

They never would have expected that the vehicle they'll ride on would be a limousine as Kang Jinhai just hired it without any thought.

Gao Tian wasn't with them as he was assigned to a different school which was the furthest away from Shuhui Middle School, and he'll be escorted by his family.

Jiang Xiu and Kang Jinhai were assigned to Zhong Ning High School. 

Wen Liling in West Middle School, Jiang Yue and Wan Zhu in Shuhui Middle School. 

Although Jiang Yue doesn't have to ride with them she wants to drop off Jiang Xiu as she noticed that most students have their family with them. 

It was the least she can do. 

Wan Zhu on the other hand, of course, has to come with as there is still time before the examination. 

They first went to Zhong Ning High School to drop Jiang Xiu and Kang Jinhai. They got out of their limousine which was already enough to catch the attention of everyone around. 

Jiang Yue was just about to go with them when she received a call. 

Seeing the caller's name, her brows couldn't help but raise. 

"Hello..." 

"Where are you?" Luo Zhelan questioned on the other end of the phone. 

"I'm in front of Zhong Ning High School." Jiang Yue answered. 

"Wait for me there," Jiang Yue's forehead creased, hearing that familiar statement from him again. 

Now that she thought about it, it was always him who had reached out to her. And for the past week and a half since the day he dropped her off in front of her school, they hadn't talked to each other. 

"Sister, let's go!" Jiang Xiu called out as she noticed her sister hadn't followed. 

"Ah, Luo Zhelan is coming here. Let's wait for a moment." Jiang Yue explained and the others heard as well. They all waited together, discussing some random topics to pass the time. 

A call came in her phone and she answered it right away when she saw it was Wei Guozhi. 

"Master," Jiang Yue greeted the old man. 

"I just called to wish you good luck for the national examination— I know you'll do well but I still wish you the best. I would have dropped you off in your school if there weren't any pressing issues in the Research Organization." Principal Wei stated.

Although the old man wasn't there to drop her as he said, it was enough for Jiang Yue to hear those from him, making her heart warm. They hadn't been in contact for weeks already, and she didn't expect that he would still wish her good luck despite knowing what she was capable of. 

"Thank you. Don't worry, I'll enter the Research Organization with my capability." Jiang Yue reassured the old man. 

"Oh, I'm not worrying because I'll know you'll do so," Principal Wei stated in a tone filled with pride, he knows very well that the girl will prove herself, "Is Jiang Xiu with you? I want to wish that girl good luck as well." 

Jiang Yue gave the phone to her sister and let them talk for a while. 

It didn't take long for Luo Zhelan to arrive and park his car just beside them. 

He couldn't help but have a questioning look on his face when he noticed the limousine. 

Jiang Yue seeing his expression, stated, "Don't ask, it was Kang Jinhai's idea— anything the matter?" 

"Oh, I wanted to give you something." Luo Zhelan stated and grabbed two boxes from the car.

With her brow raised, she said, "I can't ask you for numbers again because I have a score that I aim to get." 

Luo Zhelan chuckled, "I know. I wish you the best," he handed her the two boxes and she accepted them, "Just open it once you've finished taking all your exams. The other one is for your sister, it's my gift for her as well." 

Jiang Yue put it inside her bag and muttered, "Thank you, I'll give it to her." 

Knowing that she still have her examination, Luo Zhelan was just about to say goodbye when the girl suddenly exclaimed, "Also— I want to apologize for my... uh behavior last time." 

Luo Zhelan was taken aback to suddenly hear her apologize as he didn't expect it to. He asked Fu Liwei who was a much better choice than Qin Zirui and the man told him to let her be for now, as she may need space, and so he did and he took the National College Entrance Examination Event to see her. 

It was a good thing that her attitude didn't change after that incident, making him feel quite relieved a while ago. 

"It's fine, I didn't take it to heart." 

Even with his words, Jiang Yue still wasn't assured so she said, "Then I'll give you a chance to ask me anything." 

It was always her rule to give back twice what she had received, and the man in front of her had given her a lot of things and helped her in many ways. It was the only way she thought of to show her sincerity since she knew that Luo Zhelan had almost everything already and she doesn't know what to give him. 

"I already have your card, do you think that was still not enough?" Luo Zhelan stated as he knew that the card she gave which she said was just a few thousand yuan was limitless and had no restrictions. 

It was only now that Jiang Yue remembered she gave him her card, making her roll her eyes, "You haven't even used a penny of it." 

Now that she thought of it, it was pretty useless giving him her card.
