After the three of them finished their lunch, Fu Xifeng had to leave immediately because she still had other things to get done, leaving the two sisters at the restaurant.

They decided to stay for another hour because there was nothing else to do, and just as they were ready to go, Jiang Yue's phone rang.

Her brows couldn't help but furrow when she saw the name of the caller, she answered it and greeted, "Sister Shi, did anything happen?" 

Everything had been settled on her end and she had already been accepted in a new entertainment company, so it was a surprise that Mao Shi had called her. 

The woman on the other end of the phone responded in a small voice, "Xiao Yue, I need your help."

"What happened?" Jiang Yue asked, straightening her back from leaning on the chair.

"I've finally persuaded my grandmother to transfer her to another hospital with the money you've lent me, or else Yan Chun Hua will continue to use her against me," Mao Shi explained with a quavering voice. 

She had wanted to give that money to Mao Shi, but she refused, so she decided to offer it as an IOU for the woman to take it.

"Hmm," Jiang Yue hummed, encouraging the woman to continue as she knows that something might have happened again based on the woman's voice. 

"She just threatened me that if I moved my grandmother to other hospitals, none of them would admit her. I— I didn't believe her at first, so I went to other hospitals and... and they all refused to admit my grandma. What am I gonna do? She wanted me to resign from Silver Records and go back to Prime Media, but— how.... how can I do that? Everything you've helped me for would go to waste!"

Jiang Yue's eyes were lowered and glinted dangerously.

"I understand. Have you tried other hospitals?" She questioned, then added afterward, "How about New Hope Hospital?" 

"I tried every hospital here in the Capital! I also tried New Hope Hospital but they said they can't admit my grandma into the hospital, when I asked them why they said they had every right to refuse to admit a patient but that never happened before. I'm sorry for asking for your help again— I can't ask for Zheng Qingsheng's help because it might become an issue and would ruin your plan— I'm sorry.." 

"Sister Shi," Jiang Yue called out to get her attention as the woman started to panic and sob, "It's fine and it's good that you asked for my help. I'll help you okay?" 

Hearing the little hum of assent on the other end of the phone, she stated, "That's good, where are you now?"

"I'm in front of the Capital's Hospital," Mao Shi responded and Jiang Yue grabbed the car key that was on the table. 

"Okay, we'll go there so wait for us. Are you sure New Hope Hospital refused to admit your grandmother?" Jiang Yue asked again with a furrowed brow. 

Luo Zhelan was the one who was hands-on handling the hospital, and he knew Mao Shi so it couldn't have been an order from him. Even if he hadn't known Mao Shi, she knew he wouldn't intervene with which people were refused admission to the hospital.

"Yes, they said it very clearly." 

"Okay, I'll ask Luo Zhelan about this," Jiang Yue said, turning to her sister, who had a raised brow as if wondering what was going on, and said, "Let's go."

The two of them went out.

Unbeknownst to Jiang Yue, a woman seated next to their table was discreetly listening to her call.

Her fingers with beautiful and elegant designs on her nails tapped on the glass table, her eyes following the two girls who just left. 

When the woman spotted the car that the two females had just entered, her eyes narrowed.

It was a car she was quite familiar with.

It looks extremely similar to the car her son used to drive—or it may be the same one.

She remembers it vividly since it was the first time she had seen her son modify his car. She assumed it was merely because he liked it as there were only ten of them in the world.

She grabbed her bag from her the table and decided to follow the two girls. 

If her assumption is true, they will visit New Hope Hospital soon, and she is curious about the girl's relationship with her son.

With the way she just casually call her son 'Luo Zhelan', there was no way they do not know each other as most people would call him 'Young Master Luo' or 'President Luo'. 

It seemed unlikely that the girl was her son's friend because she knew all of his friends and they all addressed him as 'Brother Zhe'.

She got into her car and drove herself to New Hope Hospital.

"Mrs. Luo, good afternoon."

"Hello, Madam Luo!"

"What can I do for you, Madam Luo?"

Nurses, doctors, and personnel she encountered greeted her with a smile on their faces and she graciously nodded to each of them.

"I'm just here to visit my friend," Yuan Ru replied and was just about to go to her friend's office when she suddenly remembered something, she turned to the person who just asked her, "If my son comes here, tell me." 

Just as she finished those words, someone entered the main door of the hospital. 

Speak of the devil and the devil appears. 

Yuan Ru took off her glasses and placed them in her bag while she waited for her son to come to her.

"Mom, what are you doing here?" Luo Zhelan asked with a furrowed brow when he finally crossed the distance between the two of them. 

Yuan Ru's lips curved into a smile as she lifted her brow and asked, "Am I not allowed to be here?"

"Did I say that? I'm only asking why you're here," Luo Zhelan replied.

"I'm here to visit a friend," she explained, turning to the woman she had just spoken with, "Is Doctor Peng on duty today?"

The woman on nodded, "Yes, she's on duty today; you can wait in her office, do you want me to accompany you, Madam Luo?"

"There's no need to, thank you," Yuan Ru said as she turned to face her son, who was already on his phone, and said, "Let's go."

"You go first," Luo Zhelan said, his attention concentrated on the screen of his phone, "I have some matters to settle."

Yuan Ru's brows arched, "Some matters to settle or you're waiting for someone?" 

Is her son here because that girl asked for his help? 

But who is she to get her son to take action this fast? 

He should have been in the Luo Corporation office before coming here, as he was still dressed formally.

With her statement, Luo Zhelan looked up to see his mother's 'don't lie to me' expression, "I'm not lying, I'm here to settle some matters."

"Then I'll visit my friend after you've settled your matters." 

Luo Zhelan's brows furrowed, he wanted to refuse but he nodded eventually. 

He went to the Admitting Section of the hospital with his mother following him. 

"Young Master Luo, Madam Luo." 

Several people greeted the two. 

"Young Master Luo, what can I help you with?" asked the lady in charge of the Admitting Section, a large smile on her lips.

She never imagined she'd have the opportunity to speak with the owner of the hospital she's working on! Not to mention that the man in front of her is someone who is like a celebrity to the elites of the Capital. 

"Can you check to see if a person named 'Mao Shi' came here?" Luo Zhelan inquired, and the woman ran through the records right away.

"Oh yes, just yesterday," she replied, and when she returned her gaze to the attractive man in front of her, she froze when she realized how cold his eyes were.1

"Who gave the order to refuse her grandmother's admission to the hospital?" Luo Zhelan asked in a low voice. 

Yuan Ru's question was finally answered after hearing her son's query.

Her son was there to help the girl, however, her other question remained unanswered. 

Who was that girl and what is her relationship with her son?

"I— I was told by Doctor Bai to refuse a girl named 'Mao Shi,'" the girl said in a shaky voice, a chill running down her spine from the man's gaze.

"Doctor Bai?" Luo Zhelan muttered, trying to recall who that person was. "Get that person to come here," he instructed, and the woman in charge of the Admitting Section promptly left.

Yuan Ru sat on the chair and crossed her legs over the other, "Son, why don't you tell me who's that girl?" 

Luo Zhelan who was leaning on the counter of the Admitting Section turned towards her with furrowed brows, "Who?" 

"The girl who asked you to get this matter settled," Yuan Ru explained, waiting for her son to explain, "Don't try to lie to me, I know it was a girl who asked you why her friend was refused in our hospital and look— you're immediately here to settle the matter." 

Luo Zhelan folded his arms, "How did you know?" 

"I'll respond once you've answered my question," Yuan Ru proposed.

She expected her son to explain, but he remained silent.

Does he not want to tell her? 

"Son," she murmured softly, "if you're in a relationship with her, just tell me."

The only reason she could think of for her son to help the girl right away was if they were in a relationship.

They know each other, she's certain she's not his friend, and the car the girl drove was the one her son had previously driven.

If they aren't in a relationship, then what is going on between the two?

"Do you think I wouldn't tell you if I'm in a relationship?" Luo Zhelan responded. 

Yuan Ru frowned, "Then what is your relationship with her?" 

"I'm still pursuing her." 

"What?" 

So they aren't in a relationship because he's still pursuing her? 

Her son is still in the pursuit stage?
