Teachers from various years and classes, as well as Principal Cheng, had gathered in the school's faculty, waiting for the results of the examination to be released. 

Students can see their individual results as well as their specific scores for each subject but they as the teachers, can only check their students' results through the overall ranking of the National College Entrance Examination, which will be posted an hour after the students are allowed to check their results.

As the time they were finally waiting for struck, every teacher in each third-year class had their eyes fixed on the screen of their computer, and even teachers from lower years were checking the results.

All of the teachers were hoping for the best for all of the students, but they hoped that at least one student from their class would obtain a high rank because it would help the school's and the teacher's reputation and image.

The overall ranking page finally appeared on everyone's screen. Just as they were about to filter the results to show the ranking and overall score of their school's students, their eyes were drawn to the name of the top scorer of the year— as it was a very familiar name.

On the very first row, was the name 'Jiang Yue'. 

The entire room was silent as several attempted to refresh the site because they believed there was an issue with the results. Some didn't even try to refresh the page because their wide eyes were already tracing the name Jiang Yue to each of the columns next to her name, displaying the school, her overall score, and finally her overall ranking.

Right next to her name was 'Shuhui Middle School' then her overall score was— 750. 

The teachers didn't even dare to blink their eyes as they were afraid that the data on the screen would change. 

A perfect score of 750. 

It was a score that no one had gotten before. 

And finally, someone did, and it was a student from their school.

The silence was finally broken when one of the teachers voiced out, "Teacher Meng, congratulations! This school's top scorer, the province's top scorer, and the nation's top scorer is your student."

Those words cut all the strings that were causing everyone's heart to dangle. 

With broad grins on their faces, the teachers all expressed their congratulations.

Although it was not their student who received the highest score on the National College Entrance Examination, it was a student from their school, making everyone feel pleased and proud.

"It appears that not only is the top scorer in your class, Teacher Meng but also the second place!"

It was only then that they realized the name 'Jiang Xiu' below Jiang Yue. Everyone was so taken aback by the fact that the Nation's top scorer was from their school that they didn't expect the second placer to be from their school as well!

After congratulating her co-teacher, Meng Deming, Zhu Lin returned to her computer to check the scores of her students. Cheng Jiayi had a score of 719, with a rank of 34th.

Xia Mingzhou had a score of 723, with a rank of 26th. 

Not only were they not their school's top scorers, but the top two scorers in the country are from another class, the class she had always looked down on—Class Eleven.

Zhu Lin tried to keep a smile on her face, but she couldn't.

She regretted getting ahead of herself; if she had accepted the two, she would have been in the limelight for being the teacher of the two top achievers.

But she can't do anything other than swallow the bitter feeling in her heart as there's no medicine for regret.

"Goodness gracious, two students from your class who are sisters, and the other one had gotten a perfect score! This will go down in history!" exclaimed one teacher, "And think that Jiang Xiu got 738, which is the highest from all previous years, just next to Jiang Yue!"

Teacher Meng, who was still in disbelief because everything seemed like a dream to him, didn't know how to respond and could only smile at everyone who had congratulated him. He looked composed as if he had expected it of his students, but only he knows how fast his heart is beating and how wet his palms are from sweat.

The nation's first placer and second placer were from his class...

Those words sound too impossible, but that is exactly what is happening to him right now.

He never imagined that the students he had just taken a few months before would be the ones to bring honor to him, the school, and their province.

Seeing all of them eligible to apply to their wanted universities and colleges is all he wanted and seeing them improve and prove themselves to the world was more than enough for Meng Deming.
