After the overall ranking was released, several universities and colleges began reaching out to students who performed well in the National College Entrance Examination.2

It is to persuade students to give their universities a chance through such things as scholarship offers, as most had already filled in their desired university to admit to.

Jiang Yue as the Nation's top scorer and the very first person to get a perfect score for the examination, was the one to receive tens of calls from principals and presidents from different universities. But the person is not answering, so they all turned to her guardian and started calling the number that she had filled in. 

"Principal Ren, Jiang Yue is still not answering," The Assistant Principal of Laozun University remarked, getting the attention of the middle-aged man sitting on the office chair. 

"Let's try calling her guardian," Principal Ren responded with furrowed brows, "Whatever condition she or her guardian requested, just agree to it. The important thing is she chose Laozun University." 

The Assistant Principal dialed the number of the guardian Jiang Yue filled in, as the call continued to ring, she couldn't help but comment, "She had already filled in Capital University in her first choice of school, would Principal Wei be upset with you if we manage to convince her to choose Laozun University?"

"She had just filled in the choices of her school but that doesn't mean that she's already admitted to it. We're merely convincing her to give our university a chance," Principal Ren replied, "Besides, Wei Guozhi would understand. If the girl had chosen our university in the first place, he would set aside our friendship and try to win the girl over to his university. We're talking about the Nation's Top Scorer here, and she is the only one who had gotten a perfect score since the National College Entrance Examination happened." 

The Assistant Principal was about to respond when the phone call stopped ringing as the person on the other end had already answered it.

"Hello, good afternoon," she was about to say that it was the assistant principal of Laozun University who called them when Principal Ren abruptly stood up and motioned for her to hand over the phone, which she did.

"I'm Ren Ping, the Principal of Laozun University—" He hadn't finished his sentence when the person on the other end of the phone spoke up.

"Ren Ping, what are you calling me for? Have you changed your number?" the person on the other end asked, prompting Principal Ren's brow to furrow as he finds the voice a bit familiar. 

Suddenly, he remembered whose voice it was. 

The person he had called is Wei Guozhi.

Out of all the people he could wrongly dial it has to be him.

"Nothing, I probably dialed the wrong number," Principal Ren said, cutting the call short. He turned to the woman sitting on the couch and handed back the phone, "You dialed the wrong number, Wei Guozhi answered it."

"Huh?" The Assistant Principal grabbed the phone and checked the number, "But Principal Ren, I dialed the correct number. Here, you can check." She said as she pushed the folder to him and the phone that showed the number they had just called.

Principal Ren accepted it and compared the two numbers, shocked to realize that the two sets of numbers were the same.

Suddenly, a thought occurred to him and he immediately dialed the number once again which was answered right away. 

"Wei Guozhi, what is your relationship with the Nation's Top Scorer?" Principal Ren asked right away. 

"What Nation's Top Scorer? Are the results already out?" Wei Guozhi replied on the other end as he removed the latex gloves on his hands and took off his laboratory coat. 

"You haven't seen the results yet?" Principal Ren inquired, doubting what his friend had just stated.

"I've been busy in the Research Organization these past few days, and it's only now that I've had a chance to check my phone," Wei Guozhi said, checking his phone only to discover that he had missed countless calls.

His phone vibrated as soon as he entered his office space to rest, so he answered it without hesitation. He had no idea he'd already got tens of calls in less than an hour.

"Well, what's your relationship with the Nation's Top Scorer?" Principal Ren inquired once more, prompting Principal Wei to frown.

"I don't even know who the Nation's Top Scorer is, you're the one who called— why are you even calling me?" Wei Guozhi replied in a tone that was tinged with annoyance. 

He hadn't had enough sleep in the last several days, and just as he was about to take a rest, Principal Ren called and started asking all those ridiculous things.

Principal Ren, who had assumed that the Nation's Top Scorer was undoubtedly related to his friend, began to have doubts, "You're not related to Jiang Yue?"

"What— did you say 'Jiang Yue'?" Wei Guozhi was just about to berate his good friend when he finally understood what he meant, "That child is the Nation's Top Scorer this time?"

Principal Ren, who had just realized that his friend might not be related to the Nation's Top Scorer, became despondent when he noticed how intimate Wei Guozhi was in addressing Jiang Yue.

"Not only is she the Nation's Top Scorer, but she also achieved a perfect score, which no one has done in all these years!" Principal Ren exclaimed.

Wei Guozhi who was listening on the other end was astonished. 

He was confident that she was going to get a high rank and a score of more than 650.

After all, the girl was a genius when she was a child, and even if years had passed and she had only returned to studying in the last few months, the girl would still be able to answer the examination questions that she was able to answer when she was seven years old.

The words Jiang Yue had said before started to echo in his mind.
