3"How did the conversation go?" Luo Zhelan inquired as he approached her.3

"It went pretty well." 

"Let's go inside." 

Jiang Yue followed him and they entered the hotel once again, only to bump into several people at the reception area on the ground floor. 

Her eyes narrowed when she saw the familiar faces prompting her walking pace to slow down. Just as she was about to tug on Luo Zhelan's hand so they could walk around the group of people, a voice called out. 

"Jiang Yue, what are you doing here?" Fen Rong, Xia Mingzhou's mother, inquired, her gaze fixed on the girl.

Xia Mingzhou, who was standing next to her, pursed her lips, surprised to see the girl there.

They had planned to eat dinner that night as a small celebration for her doing well in the National College Entrance Examination. But who would have guessed that as they were on their way to the Royal Hotel in the Capital, fireworks would go off and she would see all those large led screen displays with the words 'Congratulations Jiang Yue'?

She was looking forward to the night because her family had spent a large number of money merely to eat dinner at the Royal Hotel, one of the top-tier hotels in the Capital. Yet she had to watch all those huge screen displays congratulating Jiang Yue, and she even ran into the girl at the hotel.

What surprised her, even more, was the man standing next to Jiang Yue.

The man stood 1.85 meters tall and had a slender physique, chiseled features, and an intense gaze.

But what truly got her attention was how the man carried himself. 

Despite the fact that he was dressed casually, Xia Mingzhou could tell he was wealthy because the man exuded an aura of achievement and success. He carried himself with sophistication and refinement, in contrast to most of the males she had encountered, who appeared arrogant and self-centered.

He looked exactly how she imagined a man of class and wealth would look, yet he was next to Jiang Yue, whom she despised the most.

Yet Jiang Yue who was beside this head-turner of a man, didn't lose one bit in terms of appearance nor demeanor and aura.

She was wearing a simple white blouse paired with a black skirt, yet the girl appears to be as imposing and impactful as the man beside her.

'What is their relationship?' 

Xia Mingzhou couldn't help but think so as she observed the two.

"Jiang Yue..." Xia Zhong exclaimed, surprised to see the girl there as well. "What are you doing here?" he inquired, his gaze shifting to the man beside her.

"It's none of your business," Jiang Yue said dryly as she grasped Luo Zhelan's hand, and they were about to walk away when another person said something that caused her to come to a halt.

"How dare you talk to us that way!" The Old Master of the Xia Family exclaimed in a booming voice as he tapped his walking stick harshly on the floor. 

  "Father," Xia Zhong called out, wanting to warn his father with the tone he just used. 

"Grandpa, let's not bother Jiang Yue," Xia Mingzhou said, clutching the old man's arm, "we've already decided to cut our relations with them so we're no longer her family, I mean— we can't expect her to show respect to us now with all she's achieved when she didn't even respect you when she had nothing."

Jiang Yue turned around and nodded towards Xia Mingzhou, "Your granddaughter is right, we're not related nor do I owe any of you an explanation why I'm here, so why should I? It's none of your business what I do with my life and it's none of my business what you will do with yours. Let's keep it that way." 

"Huh," Feng Rong scoffed, folding her arms across her chest, "who do you think you are to say those words, Jiang Yue? Have you forgotten that it was our family who fed your little sister all these years? It would have been better if we had just adopted some stray dogs than feeding the two of you who would just bite back and be ungrateful for everything we've provided."

Jiang Yue's eyes became colder with the woman's ridicule and she couldn't help but laugh coldly, "Since you've mentioned it, then for any of you to stop bringing up how we're ungrateful after providing for me and my sister, I'll pay for every cent that you've ever spent on the both of us. But do not ever approach Jiang Xiua and me acting like you're our family when you're not." 

Jiang Yue grabbed her phone and in just a minute sent a million dollars to Feng Rong's Alipay Account. 

"No, there's no need to," Xia Zhong right away proclaimed. 

He allowed the two sisters to leave their family because he expected the two to return and recognize their mistakes one day. And he knows that once they receive the money, there is no way Jiang Yue and Jiang Xiu will return to the Xia Family.

Then how can he face his sister in the underworld once he died? 

He has already regretted not reconciling with his sister, and she died with the two of them still holding grudges against each other.

Feng Rong opened her phone and sneered when she saw the amount, "No wonder you can be this arrogant now, so it's because you can just pull out this amount of money. Did you get it from the man beside you?" She questioned and gestured towards Luo Zhelan. 

Jiang Yue could feel Luo Zhelan squeezing her hand, and she merely shrugged, "Up to you, if that's what you wanna believe." 

"Uhm, excuse me?"

Jiang Yue turned around to face the person who had just spoken, and from what she remembered, he was one of the servers who served at the Celebration Dinner.

"I apologize for interrupting Miss Jiang and Young Master Luo, but Principal Wei asked me to tell you to go back to the top floor or else he would be the one to get the two of you," the server said nervously.

Xia Mingzhou, The Old Master, Feng Rong, and Xia Zhong couldn't help but perk their ears up when they heard the words of the waiter.
