Meeting Feng De

Jiang Yue and Sunshine were escorted by the nurse to Feng De's room which was on the second floor. When they arrived there, another person was already present and based on Sunshine's description, Jiang Yue thinks that it was the woman that asked for Sunshine's help to check up on Feng De.0

"Can we have some privacy please?" Sunshine remarked to the nurse to which the nurse nodded and left after checking Feng De's condition.

Jiang Yue's gaze had been on Feng De the moment her eyes landed on him and Sunshine was right.

The man had turned way skinnier compared to his state in the photo they had of him. His cheeks were sunken and he had dark circles below his eyes. He was someone who has a big build before yet now he looks far from what he used to look like.

"Oh right, Ma Jie," Sunshine called out to the woman with them and when she got her attention, she introduced the two to each other, "This is my assistant by the way, Shen Yun. Shen Yun, this is the person who asked me to check on Feng De."

"Hi," the woman smiled at Jiang Yue and she nodded, "Is it okay for you to leave the three of us?"

"Ha?"

Sunshine cleared her throat, "What my assistant meant is for you to give us some privacy for just a moment."

Ma Jie hearing those words from Doctor Sun, nodded right away and turned around to leave.

"Well? Do you think it's possible to treat him?" Sunshine asked when Jiang Yue went closer to Feng De who hadn't said a word since they arrived.

Jiang Yue glanced at her and replied, "Do you think I would be able to answer your question without even checking his condition?"

"Oh, sorry. Then take your time," Sunshine remarked and sat on the chair beside the bed.

"Is he always this unresponsive?" Jiang Yue asked when Feng De still hasn't reacted to their presence as though the two weren't in the room and he is in his own world.

"Yeah, he just rarely replies or reacts. It is still uncertain what caused him to be this unresponsive. The doctors first thought that it had to do with his Aphasia since you know... Aphasia is caused by multiple injuries to the brain but he doesn't have any, which is confusing." Sunshine stated with folded arms as she looked at the girl who had been checking the man's pulse.

"Mister Feng..." Jiang Yue called out to the man, however, Feng De didn't react and continued to stare out the window.

"The last time you checked on him, as he ever replied to you?"

Sunshine nodded, "He was much more responsive that time than he is now, and based on the nurse's words who was assigned to take care of him, he doesn't respond that much and it was surprising to see him be responsive that day."

"How did he reply?"

"Just some gibberish— how about you hacked into the surveillance of the hospital? So you can check what happened that day." Sunshine suggested with twinkling eyes as she was proud she had thought of something brilliant.

After all, with Jiang Yue's ability to hack, it is just easy for her to get into the mental hospital's surveillance.

Jiang Yue nodded as that was what she was planning to do also.

Since the man isn't responding, then the best course of action for her is to analyze his behavior using the footage the mental hospital has of him since they have surveillance cameras in each room.

Jiang Yue grabbed her laptop and opened it.

It didn't take long for her to connect to the mental hospital's surveillance camera.

She went through Feng De's room surveillance and Sunshine could already hear the conversation she had with Feng De on her laptop, prompting her to sit beside Jiang Yue.

Jiang Yue watched the video of Sunshine talking to the man and the word 'gibberish' was the exact word to describe Feng De's talking.

Jiang Yue didn't even understand a word from him which didn't help at all.

She went through all the other footage of the surveillance camera of Feng De's room and her brows couldn't help but furrow when she noticed that there are a few pieces of footage that were missing.

The videos were saved with dates on the day they were recorded and Feng De is being guarded 24/7 so there should be no videos that were missing yet there are.

There were a total of four dates that has no videos on them.

Jiang Yue checked the other patients' footage as there is a possibility that during those days there were just malfunctions with the surveillance, however, every other patient in the hospital has no missing footage for even a day from when they were admitted to the hospital.

This time, she's sure something must have happened for those few footage to be deleted, and she might get some information from those videos.

She tried to recover the footage but she noticed that not only were they not deleted but as well as the trace of the videos were deleted. However, it still wasn't difficult for her to recover the video as long as the computer where the videos were saved before is still being used, then she could recover it if she wants to.

Four footage showed up in her files and she opened the one that was just recently recorded which was just eight months ago. 

Jiang Yue and Sunshine watched the video from start to finish with Jiang Yue fast forwarding some parts where nothing had happened since it was a 24-hour-long video.

Around 10 o'clock of the evening on the video, Feng De who was asleep woke up with his chest heaving up and down, and a look of hysterical could be seen on his face. 

It was the first expression that Jiang Yue had seen of him as the man just have an expressionless face most of the time.

Feng De sat up and Jiang Yue thought that the man would end up behaving hysterically because of the expression on his face, yet Feng De started to grab his hair and groaned loudly. 

Sunshine grimaced when she saw how Feng De had acted up and she couldn't help but comment, "For him to behave like that, he must be undergoing a severe pain in his head." 

Jiang Yue couldn't help but agree with the woman's words, as Feng De was groaning out of agony. For a person like him who doesn't respond much to behave like that only means that he was experiencing excruciating pain. 

Jiang Yue's brows furrowed as she couldn't help but notice why Feng De's behavior looks so familiar to her, however, she shook that thought off her mind as she focused on watching the footage. 

With the man's loud crying, it didn't take long for two nurses and a doctor to enter his room to check on his condition. 

Feng De continued to grab his head and he started to pound it on his knees as he was already couching. The doctors immediately grabbed him and injected something into his arm. 

Jiang Yue could tell that it must not be the first time Feng De had acted that way based on how the three people reacted in the video, as though they had done it a few times already. 

Jiang Yue opened another video which was more than a year ago. 

They watched through the footage and the same thing happened, however this time, Ma Jie was with Feng De and the woman was talking to him. Ma Jie said something and Feng De who was responsive looked up and stared at Ma Jie's eyes, dumbfounding the woman as she didn't expect the man to look at her. 

Then Feng De grabbed his head again and began to groan loudly, taking Ma Jie aback and causing her to step away. They could see how nervous the woman had become by her behavior as she became frantic and run outside to call for a doctor. 

The same set of people, the two nurses and a doctor, entered the room and started to hold down Feng De as they removed his hands on his head and injected something on his arm again. 

Jiang Yue's body stiffened when she finally remembered why Feng De's behavior look familiar to her. 

Feng De was behaving the same way her father did when she asked him about Ying Wei. 

Jiang Yue's heart started to beat loudly in her chest as she was finally sure that Feng De must have known something about who hurt her family and killed her brother. 

Feng De was in the same state as her father was, unresponsive, and had experienced severe pain in their heads. 

Although there isn't any way to confirm if what they're going through is the same, Jiang Yue knew that what happened to the two of them must have some connections. 

Her father had a brain injury before because his head was hit during the incident, which is understandable for him to have those severe pain in his head. However, his brain injury has long healed, and the doctor checked her father again because she thought that there was a probability that it was caused by the machine she created and based on the data, there was nothing wrong with him.

This confirms her doubts that he must have experienced it because she brought out the topic of her brother. 

But in Feng De's case, the first video they had watched, he experienced the pain from waking up from sleep. In the second video, he went through it again when Ma Jie was talking to him. 

Jiang Yue played the video back to where Ma Jie was talking to Feng De and listened to every word of the woman. 

Just as she thought that she might get something from Ma Jie's words, however, she got nothing. 

The woman was only telling Feng De about her everyday life. 

So what triggered the pain in Feng De's head?
