Everything she had done had not caused Michael's reputation to plummet but instead implicated her family's business. She did not expect this outcome nor that Michael's power could cover the sky to this extent.0

He could control her scandal within that small area and spread it in the places he wanted to control. He could let most of the outside world remain unknown to the many things happening in the medical world of Harken.

She also did not expect those indecent photos she had sent to Michael to be exposed by him and that he would allow everyone in the medical field to see them.

Of course, she did not care. If Michael had not cleaned up the internet, she would have exposed these photos to everyone. She had long been prepared to lose her reputation. As long as she did not marry Michael, she could do anything. She never thought that there would be another man who would love her or that she would ever fall in love again, so she could be very thorough.

However, exposing it herself and having someone else do it was entirely different.

Michael really was cruel.

Monica's whole body trembled, but she was not willing to give up yet. She did not want to marry Michael, not in this lifetime or the next.

Now, because of her, they had lost such a reputation and had to hand over Cardellini Enterprise to others.

So after hearing that, Monica did not dare approach her parents. As they wanted to protect her wholeheartedly, they did not want her to know what they were facing now and feel any burden. Yet, for her own selfish desires, she had made them suffer so much.

For the first time, she really hated herself. She hated herself for not knowing anything, for not being able to find a way to fight against Michael. If she had been stronger, smarter, she would not have been forced to this point by him.

Maybe the solution was to compromise. After all, she could not win against Michael. She also could not bear to see her parents suffer so much for her.

She was right.

After a round of fighting, they still returned to their original spot. She despised herself for being so stupid.

He didn't have to wait for two days. She would admit defeat. 

She would just be marrying someone she did not like and sleeping with someone she did not love.

What else could she do?

She had never been afraid of death. So why should she be afraid of sleeping with someone?

The moment she decided to call Michael, she received a call from an unknown number. Monica did not know who it was, but she answered anyway.

The worst they could do was scold her people for being shameless and immoral.

The moment the call connected and she heard a familiar female voice, Monica burst into tears.

She had told herself not to cry even when she was forced to this point by Michael. She had been bearing with it, forcing herself to never again shed a single tear for this man.

However, when she heard Jeanne's voice, she could not help but cry her heart out.

She had disappeared for half a month. Monica thought she was dead.

When Jeanne heard Monica's cries, she felt very guilty. She had been recuperating on Delta island for half a month.
