Lin Qianru quietly opened the door of the apartment she had unlocked after filling up the password. She sighed in relief when she saw that the lights in the living room were off. She thought that either Mo Roulan was already inside her room sleeping or she was still at He Mansion but she thought that chances of the latter being true were more. 2

The living room was dimly lit so she easily found her way ahead. 

However, she was proven wrong when she saw a figure sitting on the sofa inside the living room. 

Lin Qianru froze amidst her steps and called out unconsciously.

"Roulan…"

Mo Roulan who was sitting on the sofa silently turned her head around to look at her mother.

"You are back, Mom"

She whispered in a daze.

"Y..yes."

Lin Qianru whispered stiffly as if she was afraid that Mo Roulan would find out something. 

"Were you waiting for me?"

She asked her daughter softly when she saw that she had not even changed her dress from the party. 

"Yes"

Mo Roulwn whispered.
