Going On A Date

That evening, Mo Roulan didn't even get to know when the office hours ended. 

She was so indulged in the drawing that she didn't even raise her head when the door was opened and a figure shadowed her. 

There was a long silence in the room as Mo Roulan used the pencil on the white paper. 

A moment later, a hand suddenly held her hand and guided her to make the curve she had wanted to make but was unable to make it properly. 

"Not like this…draw it this way."

Mo Roulan's eyes flickered with realization and she understood how it needed to be drawn. Filled with joy, she raised her head to look at the person who taught her this new thing but was startled when she saw He Jian. 

She should have actually recognized him by his voice. 

"Mr. He…"

She blinked at He Jian with somewhat a silly expression on her face. Her hand was still held by him and he almost seemed to be embracing her from behind. When did he walk behind her? How did she not get to know! 

Mo Roulan wondered silently and then hurriedly looked around. 

She was relieved when she saw that there was no one around. 

He Jian felt that her actions were slightly funny and merely smiled. 

When Mo Roulan looked at him, she again called him out. 

"Mr. He…"

He should now leave her hand, shouldn't he? 

He Jian knew what she was trying to imply but he pretended to be unknown and merely hummed. 

"Hmmm…"

Mo Roulan seemed to be dazed for a moment. 

She didn't know why that hum sounded so s….

She stopped immediately when she realized where her mind was going. Mortified, she shook her hand out of He Jian's hold and said 

"That….I will finish this. Thank you"

However, He Jian calmly took the pencil from her hands and said 

"Office hours have already ended, Lanlan. You should stop now. It is not good to sit on the chair for so long."

Mo Roulan first wanted to refuse but then she thought that what he said was reasonable so she obeyed him and put the papers inside her bag. 

He Jian also helped her silently. She felt awkward when he helped her but couldn't find any reason to refuse his help. 

It was only when they were inside the elevator, did she look at the time on the phone. 

Then she looked at He Jian and couldn't help but wonder. 

'Was he waiting for me?'

Mo Roulan didn't say this out aloud but she felt slightly guilty for making him wait. 

She decided to be careful in the future. 

It was only when they were in the car did she realize that the way they were going didn't seem to be the way to the apartment. 

"Mr. He, are we going somewhere else?"

She asked He Jian with a confused expression on her face. 

He Jian's lips twitched when he heard her question. He looked at her with narrowed eyes and said 

"How fortunate of me that my girlfriend forgot about our first date! Don't you think that I should be compensated, Lanlan?"

And then Mo Roulan suddenly remembered that He Jian had seemed to have said something about some date. 

However, in her happiness of getting her work shifted to the designing department, she, a fool, forgot everything.

"Lanlan…"

Looking at the narrowed eyes of the man, Mo Roulan felt guilty and couldn't help but smile sheepishly. 

"That…Mr. He, Forgive me. I will be careful in the future."

He Jian's eyes flashed when he heard her words and he smiled deeply. 

"Good…that is good. You must remember our next date carefully."

When Mo Roulan nodded her head vigorously, He Jian wanted to hug her tightly in his arms but was afraid that she would soon realize how she had fallen into his trap. 

Mo Roulan however soon felt that something was weird. 

The weird thing was that a few hours ago she had been thinking of ways to cancel this date but now….she had actually promised another date to He Jian.

The date was normal. 

Nothing like Mo Roulan had expected. In fact, she felt very comfortable. He Jian could see that and he smiled. 

It was his grandmother who had advised him to do so. 

He first needed to make her comfortable with him. 

They had their dinner and in between, he tried to talk to her. He Jian had never been a talkative person in his life but Mo Roulan, he wanted to try to be one so that he could get to know her.

When they reached the apartment, it was almost night. Mo Roulan thought that her mother must be worried. 

She didn't even message her mother that she was going to be late. 

Seeing her expression, He Jian frowned and asked 

"What's wrong, Lanlan?"

When Mo Roulan shared her worry, He Jian sighed and said 

"It's alright. I will come with you and talk to auntie. It is my fault. I should have called her when I took you with me."

"No…you don't need to."

Mo Roulan wanted to stop him but He Jian didn't listen to her and simply held her hand and walked to the apartment.  2

Helpless, Mo Roulan filled in the password. 

Did he really think that her mother would not scold her if he talked to her?

If not in front of him, she will scold her later. 

Mo Roulan, however, knew that He Jian was firm. 

However, when she stepped inside the apartment she saw that it was only Mo Chen inside. 

"Chenchen….where is Mom?"

According to what she knew, her mother should have been waiting here for her. 

However, she was shocked when Mo Chen told her with a worried expression on his face.

"Jiejie, Mom is not back yet. Jiejie, I am so worried. She should have returned by now."

Mo Roulan was also surprised when she heard this. 

Her mother would usually be back by this time.
