Chi Rong Doesn't Want To Give Up

"Do you like this dress?"

Chi Rong asked Lin Qianru gently. 

However, when he didn't get any response from her, he turned to look at her only to find that she was looking at him. 

Chi Rong's face was suddenly emotionless and he said strictly 

"Qianru, choose a dress as soon as possible otherwise we will get the marriage certificate with you dressed in these clothes only. I don't have any problem."

The lady who was showing the dresses heard Chi Rong's words and smiled. 

She walked away from there to give the couple some time to talk. On the other hand, Lin Qianru blink and looked at the dress that was placed in front of her and said 

"It is good."

Chi Rong sighed in relief and immediately handed her the dress. While pushing her towards the changing room, he said 

"Go and get ready soon."

However, Lin Qianru held the knob of the room's door and suddenly looked at Chi Rong in utter confusion

"Mr. Chi…"

"I know, you want to talk. We will do so but after you will get change the clothes."

Chi Rong said and Lin Qianru could only go inside. 

Almost twenty minutes later, Lin Qianru was readied by the lady inside the shop as per Chi Rong's request. 

As she looked at herself in the mirror, Lin Qianru felt that everything was unnecessary. 

"Let's go."

Chi Rong said and held her hand as they left the shop. 

As soon as they were seated inside the car and Chi Rong started driving, she decided to ask him

"Mr. Chi, you still want to marry me? Did the doctor not tell you clearly that my condition is not good? I don't have much time…perhaps not even a few mon…"

The car stopped making a screeching sound. 

Lin Qianru was safe as Chi Rong held her body against the seat with one hand. 

"Nothing is going to happen to you."

He said firmly making Lin Qianru look at him with a frown on her forehead. 

"But I am…"

"Sshhh…"

Chi Rong placed his finger on her lips as he hushed her. His eyes were filled with fear as he looked at Lin Qianru. It shocked her to see him like this. 

But soon, she saw a new determination in his eyes as he told her 

"I have a friend abroad. He is a very good doctor, Qianru. I have talked to him about your condition. He told me that there is still a chance that you can get cured. We will marry today and then I will take you there for the treatment."

Lin Qianru heard Chi Rong's arrangement in a daze. From his words…it seemed as if he had been thinking and doing all this yesterday. 

So he never abandoned the idea of marrying her. 

In fact, he had been looking for a way to treat her disease. 

She exhaled sharply and licked her dry lips. Tears filled her eyes and she blinked them furiously. 

"Don't do this…"

She said with great effort.

His actions, his words, his love …all of it made her feel so low. She felt guilty and ashamed. 

Chi Rong couldn't see her like this. When he saw her tears, he removed his seatbelt and moved toward her. 

"Qianru…"

However, Lin Qianru moved away from his touch and told him 

"Chi Rong, you don't need to do all this for me."

She called him by his name for the first time. In other situations, Chi Rong would have been very happy but at this moment, Lin Qianru's tears made him unable to feel happiness. 

She moved as far away from him as she could.

Lin Qianru covered her mouth and finally decided to tell him.

"Did you not ask me why I never told you about my disease? I didn't tell you because I was afraid that you wouldn't marry me after that. I couldn't let that happen. I was scared…."

Her lips trembled as she continued 

"I was scared thinking what would happen to Roulan and Chenchen after me…so when you said that you would take care of them even after me, I …I said 'yes' for marrying you."

By the time, she finished, her head was lowered in shame and guilt. 

A long time passed before she heard Chi Rong's voice.

"I know." 

Lin Qianru was shocked and raised her head to look at him swiftly. 

Chi Rong's face was expressionless as he looked at her. In fact, after he had come to know of her disease, he had guessed everything. 

Since the day she said yes contrary to his expectations, he had been wondering why she said yes. 

And yesterday, he finally saw a reason behind her actions. 

"You know…"

Lin Qianru whispered as she stared at him with shock-filled eyes. 

She suddenly saw Chi Rong leaning towards herself but she couldn't move away anymore as she was already leaning against the door. 

"But you have already said yes."

Chi Rong whispered as he wiped her tears gently. His voice was firm and he continued 

"Now, you can't back away. I won't allow you to do so. We will get the marriage certificate today only." 

As if he realized that he might be too dominating, he softened his voice and said gently 

"Everything would be fine, Qianru. I am here. I am here for you and children. Let's go to the marriage bureau, alright?"1

When she nodded her head softly, Chi Rong sighed in relief and immediately started the car. 

Only he knew how scared he was after hearing about her health. 

But he was not going to give up. 

In his whole life, he had liked only one woman. How could he give up on that one and only woman!

So what if she agreed to marry him because of her children? He doesn't care. 

He just wanted her to stay by his side and let him take care of her and the children. 

He would be very satisfied with that only.
