Shen Zhilan's Decision

Shen Zhilan pressed her temple as she sat inside the study room and looked at her phone. 

After a long time, she dared to call He Jian. 

"Hello"

The call connected and she first introduced herself and said immediately

"Mr. He, please don't hang up. I have called you to apologize for Yiling's actions."

Shen Zhilan couldn't believe it when Shen Yiling told her whatever she had done. Though she didn't scold her seeing how badly she was crying and blaming herself, she was still very disappointed in Shen Yiling. 

She loved her daughter and wanted to complete all her wishes but she also loved Shen Enterprises. 

For this company, she had done so many things blindly and sacrificed so many things. How could she let it fall down because of one stupid mistake of her daughter? 

Ha…she even disowned Shen Youlin because she had been afraid that the reputation of Shen Enterprise would fall in the market because of her disgusting truth. 

Hearing the silence on the other side, she sighed and spoke again

"Mr. He, I know whatever Yiling did was wrong. But can you not try to bring down our Shen Enterprise in all this? I will discipline Yiling. I promise you."

"Oh… How will you discipline your daughter, Madam Shen? I would like to hear your thoughts on it."

He Jian's cold voice finally came from the other side. 

Shen Zhilan had not expected that he would really ask her such a question. She had not thought about this actually so she was at lack of what to say so suddenly. 

  The next moment, She heard He Jian's cold laughter and then he said mercilessly

"Since Madam Shen doesn't know, don't expect me to stop what I am doing. Because I know very well how to disciple your daughter as well as your family."

Shen Zhilan's throat went dry. She panicked and said immediately before he could cut the call. 

"I will send Yiling away. I will send her abroad. She will not appear in front of you again. He Jian, that should be alright with you."

Shen Zhilan closed her eyes as soon as she finished. 

There was another long silence on the other side. Her heart was fast until she finally heard him say 

"Do it soon. As long as she is here, I won't stop."

And with that, the call was cut. 

Shen Zhilan leaned against the headrest of her chair as she breathed heavily. Shen Yiling was the only child she had paid attention to. 

How could it be easy for her to send that very child away!

But she needed to do it. 

With trembling hands, Shen Zhilan booked the tickets for her daughter and then went to Shen Yiling's room to inform her about this new arrangement.

The next morning, as she had decided, Mo Roulan decided to call her mother. However, she was surprised when Chi Rong picked up the call. 

"Uncle Chi, good morning."

She wished him and asked 

"Where is Mom? I wanted to talk to her. Is she still asleep?"

Mo Roulan looked at the clock as she asked the question. She would leave for the office soon. It was not early. That's why she had decided to call her mother. 

"No, she is awake."

She smiled when she heard this and was about to ask Chi Rong to give the phone to her mother but the next moment she was told by Chi Rong 

"She is inside the bathroom. I would have asked you to wait but she just went inside and you must be getting ready for the office, right?"

"Yes"

Mo Roulan's voice was filled with disappointment as she said 'yes'.

Perhaps Chi Rong realized this and said after a moment

"Roulan, I will call you in the evening, okay? You can talk to your mother then."

Mo Roulan could only settle her heart with this arrangement. After talking for some time, she cut the call and put the necessary things inside her purse. 

Soon, she received a text from He Jian that he was here and hence she left Chi Mansion. 

On the other hand, inside the hospital room, Chi Rong looked at the sleeping Lin Qianru. 

Her body had become thin in just these three days. The treatment she was undergoing was not easy and she had to bear much pain for this. 

Chi Rong's heart ached whenever he looked at her. 

He didn't like to lie to Mo Roulan but she was sleeping. She had suffered the whole night in pain and finally found some sleep. He didn't have the heart to wake her up. 

He stroked her hair as and held her thin fingers. 

How he wished he could take away all her pain from him! 

Sometimes fear would grip his heart and he would wonder what he would do if the treatment didn't work. 

And he still has not found the answer.

He only knew that his life would never be like before if Lin Qianru left him. He needed her by his side. 

Except for him, only his uncle was aware of the disease Lin Qianru was suffering from. 

It was because his uncle was also getting treatment in the same hospital. He convinced his uncle to come along when he came with Lin Qianru. 

The bad thing was that his uncle's condition was deteriorating. 

Seeing how his uncle was getting more and more weak day by day, Chi Rong would feel more scared for Lin Qianru. 

"Mr. Chi"

Chi Rong came out of his thoughts when he heard the nurse's voice and turned to look at her.

"We need to take Mrs. Chi for chemotherapy."

Chi Rong sighed when he heard this and nodded his head. After the nurse left, he woke up Lin Qianru reluctantly. 

He saw the fear of pain in her eyes when he mentioned the chemotherapy. Chi Rong blinked the moisture in his eyes and smiled somehow to assure her that it would not be painful though both of them knew he was lying. 

At such moments, he wondered many times. 

Was he selfish for making her go through all this pain? She was never going to have any treatment.  0

It was because he asked her and she came here with him. 

It was because he wanted her to stay alive. 

Was he selfish to wish all this? Chi Rong didn't really know. 

He only knew that he wanted to be this selfish for this once.
