Mo Roulan Gets To Know About Her Mother's Disease

"Mo Roulan, how shameless you are! Here your mother is having treatment for the stomach cancer, bearing all the pain and you…instead of staying here by her side you are seducing Brother Jian there! That is so disgusting of you."

The voice on the other side of the phone said. 

Shen Yiling bought a new phone so she felt free to talk to Mo Roulan as she wanted. 

She had not talked to Mo Roulan much in the past so she thought that Mo Roulan would never be able to recognize her. 

However, she was very wrong. 

Mo Roulan could recognize her voice even in her dreams. 

How much she hated this voice! 

Standing outside the airport, as Mo Roulan held the phone, her face was slightly pale. She suddenly tried to remember just how many times she had talked to her mother in the past few days. 

Her eyes started to fill with tears when she remembered how weak her voice sounded every time they talked. 

She had her suspicion since the first call but her mother had an excuse very time and since Chi Rong was there for her mother, she put aside her doubts. 

Shen Yiling might be lying, right?

She wanted to believe that she was lying to her. After all, Shen Yiling had never liked her. Her voice came out slightly choked as she tried to say a little firmly. 

"Shen Yiling, you are lying."

Shen Yiling was shocked that Mo Roulan had recognized her. She panicked for a moment before she told herself that there was no need to fear. 

Mo Roulan wouldn't have any evidence to show that it was she who told her about all this. She would destroy the phone after her work will be done. 

And as for Brother Jian, after she would reveal Mo Roulan's messy past, Shen Yiling was sure that he would not even look at Mo Roulan and his family. 

Such people could never ne accepted in their circle. 

However, Shen Yiling laughed on the other side of the phone and said confidently

"Then why don't you come to New York and see for yourself. I will even send you the hospital address and other details."

Mo Roulan no longer had even a bit of confidence in herself 

Her hands trembled as the she cut the call and dialled Chi Rong's number. 

The call didn't connect the first time but it did the second time. 

"Roulan"

Chi Rong's gentle voice came from the other side but Mo Roulan's face was blank as she told him.

"I want to talk to my mother."

She heard only silence for a long time before she heard him sighing and then he said 

"Qianru had just slept, Roulan. We went out last night so she is sleeping."

Her face went cold when she heard these words. 

She didn't question him about what Shen Yiling had told her. Instead, she asked him 

"When are you coming back?"

Chi Rong frowned on the other side of the phone. He felt confused by the way Mo Roulan was talking. 

Was everything alright?

He was silent for a moment again before he asked her softly

"Are you missing your mom? I will try to have her talk to you in the evening."

He again avoided replying to her question. 

Mo Roulan's heart broke. Tears finally fell down from her eyes. 

Chi Rong's behavior was making her believe that whatever Shen Yiling said was indeed the truth. 

"Alright"

She whispered and then cut the call. 

Chi Rong still felt that there was something wrong so he decided to ask the butler about it later. 

On the other hand, Mo Roulan walked to the car while wiping her tears with the back of her hand. 

"Go to Chi Mansion."

She told the driver who looked at her in confusion for a moment. 

Wasn't Miss Mo going to accompany Young master and Butler Chi for supermarket shopping?

However, when he looked at Mo Roulan's upset expression, he didn't say anything and silently drove the car to Chi Mansion. 

On the way to the Chi Mansion, Mo Roulan booked the first flight to New York. Her fingers were still trembling as she clicked on the screen of the phone. 

After she was done, she leaned against the headrest and closed her eyes. 

Tears again slid out from her eyes. 

Stomach cancer…why? Her mother had gone through the operation more than five years ago. Why was it back again?

Mo Roulan didn't have much time to think about anything. 

When the car reached Chi Mansion, she got out of the car and went inside.

Once inside her room, she started to pack some clothes. Her flight was in just three hours. 

Fortunately, she was able to book a seat for herself. 

When she was about to be done packing, she suddenly received a call.

Mo Roulan's eyes flickered as she recognized the number and she suddenly remembered what the day was today. 

She had pawned her mother's necklace for six more months a few months back. 

The six months finished today and she needed to go to the jeweler's shop and pay him the money to take the necklace back. 

Mo Roulan's felt her head aching as she wondered what she should do. 

If she wanted to take the necklace then she would need to go to her town and it would take time. 

She couldn't do that. 

In the end, Mo Roulan decided to let go of the necklace. Nothing was more important than her mother's life.  0

She needed to go there and see how her mother was because her mother was never going to tell her on her own. 

  After making the decision, Mo Roulan picked up her luggage and went out again. 

She asked the driver to leave her at the airport again. 

The driver was again confused to see the suitcase in Mo Roulan's hand but he could follow the order only. His master, CEO Chi had told him that he had to follow Young Miss Mo and Young Master Mo's orders as they belonged to Chi family only.

It was on her way to the airport that Mo Roulan received a call from Butler Chi. She sighed. 

She couldn't tell this to Mo Chen. 

Composing herself, Mo Roulan slid the screen to answer the call and immediately heard her brother's worried voice.

"Jiejie, where are you?"

He must be worried as she didn't reach there. 

"Chenchen, I can't come. Actually, I just got a call from the office. I need to go out of the country for some work."

"Out of the country?"

Mo Chen frowned as soon as he heard that. 

His Jiejie had never gone out of the country. How could he not worry?

"Jiejie, did you tell Brother Jian about this?"

Brother Jian would have never let this happen. Mo Chen thought as his frown went deeper. But he soon heard his sister say

"He is out of the country."

"Hmm…that's why…"

Mo Chen whispered to himself. 

"What are you saying?"

He came out of his thoughts when he heard his sister's question and said 

"Jiejie, you should tell Brother Jian. He will help you."

But Mo Roulan refused

"No, Chenchen. It is my job. I should do it. I will hang up now."

And without giving Mo Roulan any chance to refuse, Mo Roulan hung up.
