It was only after Mo Roulan had left, did Chi Rong remember that he didn't even ask her how she got to know about Lin Qianru's condition. 

She even knew in which hospital and room number Lin Qianru was in. 

The thought made Chi Rong frown deeply and He Jian's face suddenly flashed across his mind. Qianru had mentioned He Jian to him and she had also told him about the situation between Mo Roulan and He family. 

Could it be that it was He Jian who investigated everything and told Mo Roulan about this? 

If it was true, then Chi Rong had a very opposite of what Lin Qianru's opinion was regarding He Jian. He had wanted to hide as long as he could from Mo Roulan and Mo Chen. 

He had wanted to tell them if the situation got worse and now since the treatment was going good, he had decided to tell them after the treatment got over. 

He didn't want his children to worry. 

And he was here for Lin Qianru. 

But if He Jian told Mo Roulan about all this then Chi Rong didn't know if he sincerely considered Mo Roulan as a benefactor.

In that case, it would be better if he could keep Mo Roulan away from He Jian. And with him around, Mo Roulan would never need He family. 

He was always there for his children. 

Chi Rong sighed and decided to ask Mo Roulan regarding this later. 

He stepped inside the room and was surprised to see Lin Qianru sitting on the bed with a nervous and troubled expression on her face. 

"Qianru, what is it? Do you feel uncomfortable?"

He asked immediately as he walked to the bed and filled a glass of water for her. 

Lin Qianru looked at him with the same expression as she whispered 

"I don't know…I just feel weird."'

Chi Rong was worried when he heard this. He stroked her hair as he helped her in drinking the water. 

Lin Qianru had a sip and when she saw that he looked so worried, she immediately assured him.

"It is nothing. Maybe I am overthinking…But I just felt as if Roulan is around…as if she was here a few moments ago."

Chi Rong stiffened for a moment when he heard this but immediately composed himself as he said 

"It must be because you are missing her a lot."

The words made Lin Qianru smile sadly and she nodded her head.

"Hmm it must be that."

Chi Rong couldn't see her like this. He sat on the bed as he hugged her in his arms. 

In the past few days, Lin Qianru had gotten used to of it. Initially, she used to feel awkward. But as the days passed, she could feel Chi Rong's love and concern for herself. 

In the end, her heart was not made of stone and she could also feel that she was starting to like Chi Rong's presence around herself.

Perhaps it was her disease that made her feel lonely and scared all the time but she felt especially safe when he was around her. The death no longer scared her as she knew that Chi Rong would always be there for her children. But she also wished that she could live more. 

She didn't want Chi Rong to be sad because of herself. 

"I want to talk to Roulan and Chenchen today."

She whispered without any hesitation. 

In front of him, she didn't feel hesitant to voice out her wishes. 

And she knew that Chi Rong really liked this. 

Chi Rong also felt that there was nothing wrong with this request so he said 

"Alright."

Lin Qianru finally smiled which filled Chi Rong's heart with relief. 

He removed his arms from her waist and made her lie on the bed. 

"Now rest for some more time. You didn't sleep for long. When you will wake up, we will talk with Roulan and Chenchen."

Lin Qianru obediently nodded her head. Chi Rong smiled and couldn't help but lean down. When he didn't see any reluctance in Lin Qianru's eyes, he finally kissed her forehead. 

He felt happy and stroked her head gently as he straightened up. A few moments later, he said gently

"I will go and check on uncle once."

Lin Qianru nodded her head but when Chi Rong was about to turn around, she suddenly held his hand and said 

"Chi Rong…thank you."

Chi Rong didn't know why she was thanking him. But he only smiled and said 

"There is no need of thanks between us."

After that, he asked her to rest before he finally left the room.

Wang Weimin's eyes were red as he looked at the report in his hands. The report belonged to Lin Qianru. He had to spend a lot of money before he could finally find out what kind of disease Lin Qianru had. 

And the result made his heart fill with despair. 

His Qianru was suffering from cancer. 

No wonder she looked so thin and pale. Remembering her bright eyes and cheerful smile from the first time he had met her and then remembering how she looked when he saw her last, Wang Weimin felt as if someone was punching him in his gut continuously. 

And he was not by her side at such a difficult time. 

That day after coming from the hospital, though he had told himself that he should stay away from her, he still couldn't stop himself. 

And now after knowing that she has cancer, he found it more hard to stay away from her. 

Wang Weimin looked at the report in his hands for a long time. No one knew what he was thinking. It was almost half an hour later when he suddenly took out his phone and dialled a number. 

"Shen Zhilan, I no longer want to pretend as your husband. Don't ever call me again."

After finishing his words, Wang Weimin didn't even wait for Shen Zhilan's shouts and screams and hung up. He looked at the report again. He was thinking of sending the report to the best doctor he knew. 

He would make sure that nothing would happen to her. 

Years ago, he was helpless and couldn't do anything for her. But now, he was no longer helpless.  1

He didn't need to fear anything now. 

He could finally be there for his children and his wife.
