Sitting inside her office, Shen Zhilan was shocked as she looked at the phone in her hands. She couldn't believe at all whatever she heard on the phone just now.  2

Did Wang Weimin just ask her not to ever contact him again?

Her eyes went red as they slowly started to fill with anger and hurt while at the same time, she tried to call him back. 

However, she was furious when the call didn't even connect. 

Her secretary who was standing with a file in her hands and waiting for her signature on it was surprised when she saw her like that and asked in concern.

"Ms Shen are you alright?"

However, Shen Zhilan glared at her angrily and shouted 

"Get out."

The secretary almost jumped in fear and hurriedly exited the room. 

On the other hand, Shen Zhilan continued to call Wang Weimin. But even after so many attempts of hers, the call didn't connect. A thought came to Shen Zhilan's mind as she wondered whether Wang Weimin blocked her. 

How dare he! 

Did he not know what she could do to him…to his family?

Shen Zhilan was so furious that she couldn't even feel the pain as she dug her own nails into her palm causing them to bleed. 

It didn't take her a moment to dial the number that had been saved on her phone for so many years and she immediately ordered as the call connected. 

"You…go to Wenhua and find out that woman and her children. Make sure to make their lives miserable if they are still alive."

The man on the other side of the phone seemed to know who she was talking about. However, before accepting the work, he also had his needs so he said 

"Madam your work will be done but first transfer the money to me."

And that was when Shen Zhilan realized that she was no longer rich enough to hire people to harm someone secretly. 

Still, she asked the man arrogantly 

"How much do you want?"

But when the other side told the amount, Shen Zhilan's face went pale. Because she didn't have that much money. Shen Enterprises was in a very bad situation and if they didn't get it on right track soon then she was afraid that they would have to sell their villas and cars. 

So how could Shen Zhilan have the money to pay to man?

However, not ready to accept this fact, she shouted angrily. 

"Money money money ….can't you just do your work first? Do you think that I won't pay you?"

However, when she had expected that the man on the other side will talk back to her. They used to curry favor with her before and do whatever she used to say. But the same man today said 

"Yes, Madam. After all, whatever is going on with your company is not hidden from anyone. Still, I am ready to do your work but first, you need to transfer the money."

Shen Zhilan was so angry that she didn't even want to talk to him now. She cut the call and threw her phone on the table as she raked her hands through her hair. 

Unknowingly, tears started to fill her eyes as she wondered how could Wang Weimin be so cruel to her. It was true that they didn't have a good start but she had sincerely loved him all these years.

She never said a single word regardless of how coldly he treated her. Yet, today he had the courage to talk to her like this and ask her to never show her face to him again. 

But what made him say all this so suddenly?

Just at that moment, her phone started to ring and she smirked coldly. She thought that Wang Weimin had finally come to his senses.

She walked to the table hurriedly and picked up her phone. 

But she was destined to be disappointed when she saw that it was Shen Yiling who was calling her. 

She had wanted to cut the call as she was in no mood of talking to Shen Yiling. However, when she realized that Shen Yiling was also there with Wang Weimin, she hurriedly slid the screen to answer the call and asked immediately

"Yiling, did something happen there? Where is your father? Give him the phone. I want to talk to him." 

  Shen Yiling was surprised when she heard her mother's anxious voice. Making her voice sound very worried, she asked softly 

"Mom, what happened? Are you alright? Father is not here. He left just a few moments ago. But why are you so worried?"

Shen Zhilan was more frustrated by her daughter's question and disappointed that she couldn't help her. So she said 

"Alright, then I will hang up. Call me as soon as your father comes. I need to talk to him urgently."

Saying this, she was about to hang up but Shen Yiling suddenly spoke up.

"Mon, why don't you tell me what is the problem? Maybe I can help you. Actually…I called you to talk about Dad only."

Shen Zhilan was immediately listening to Shen Yiling attentively when she heard her words and asked 

"Why? What's wrong with your father?" 

On the other side of the phone, Shen Yiling smirked on hearing the anxiousness in her mother's voice. It was good. 

The more anxious her mother was, the more she will able to use her against Mo Roulan. Her voice carried hesitancy as she asked 

"Mom…does Dad have an ex-wife?"

Shen Zhilan's face went exceptionally pale when she heard Shen Yiling's question. She gulped as she asked her

"Yiling…why are you asking this?"

And after that, Shen Yiling told Shen Zhilan about Wang Weimin seeing Lin Qianru in the hospital, about Lin Qianru's disease …and also about Lin Qianru being Mo Roulan's mother. 

By the time she had heard everything, Shen Zhilan couldn't believe that Wang Weimin's wife and children had actually been living in City H for such a long time. 

Fury flashed through her eyes as she remembered Wang Weimin's words. No wonder he was eager to go away from her. 

His sweetheart was suffering from cancer. 

Good for her because she was anyway not going to let her live for long. Her cancer just made things easier for her.
