Going To The Party

Mo Roulan's day in the office passed easily as she busied herself in making designs. The environment in the office made her feel comfortable because no one tried to approach her unnecessarily. 

Ji Zhen also didn't come to see her that day.

But she did ask her assistant to make sure that Mo Roulan faces no trouble with her colleagues. The head of designing department was specially asked to look out for Mo Roulan.

The driver came to pick her up when the office hours ended and Mo Roulan reached He Mansion earlier than she returned in the past two days.

At this moment, she was seated at the dining table.

He Zhuang, He Jian, and Grandfather He was also present. Mo Roulan didn't even know that such occasions were very rare where the three men from He family sat at the same dining table and had their meals before her arrival.

But since the day she had come to He Mansion, they had at least two times meals together.

It had always been Grandfather He's wish and yet today he didn't look much happy.

After all, Butler Zhang has not returned even today.

He Zhuang saw his father's depressed face and said immediately

"Why don't you go and see Butler Zhang once if you miss him that much?"

At these words, Grandfather He glared at his son and said angrily.

"Who is missing that old stinky man! Just shut your mouth and have your dinner."

Mo Roulan looked at the old man who was lying and shook her head.

She paused when she saw He Jian putting dishes on her plate.

"No need."

She said coldly and he obliged her.

She was grateful for that.

There was a long silence at the dining table before He Zhuang spoke up again.

"Dad, we signed a very profitable deal. The client is from a foreign country and wishes to have a party with us."

Grandfather He's the face turned serious.

He had also worked in a business for a few years so he understood that if his son was saying that the deal was profitable for He company then it must be a huge deal.

To keep such clients happy, they should oblige with such small demands as parties.

"Then keep it…but don't arrange it here in my mansion."

Grandfather He said with a dismissive gesture.

"Alright"

He Zhuang complied. 

"I will ask my people to make arrangements. The party is after three days."

He Zhuang looked towards Mo Roulan when he said these words. Mo Roulan was however busy with her meal so He Zhuang had to call out her name to attract her attention.

"Roulan, will you attend the party?"

Mo Roulan had a frown on her forehead when she raised her head on hearing He Zhuang's question. 

It was visible that she didn't wish to attend any party but He Zhuang continued 

"The video of you and He Jian has circulated very fast and many people know that He Jian is already married. If people didn't see his wife at the party then there will be rumors."

The frown on Mo Roulan's forehead went deeper.

She was in conflict thinking about what she should do. Sensing her silence, He Jian looked at his father and said firmly

"If Lanlan doesn't wish to attend the party then she wouldn't Dad. I will handle the people."

Who would dare to spread rumors about his Lanlan! He will destroy that person. 

He Zhuang sighed when he looked at his son. 

Exactly how many mouths he will shut! He was afraid that He Jian will behave rudely with the clients as well if they asked about Mo Roulan. 

The clients had asked him about his son's marriage, Apparently they also knew about it and why wouldn't they?

They had tried to marry their daughter to his son. But He Zhuang had refused saying that He Jian already liked someone else. 

Now that He Jian was married they would certainly wish to see his wife. 

Just when He Zhuang was thinking all this, Mo Roulan's calm voice sounded in the dining room.

"I will attend it. Please arrange the dress for me as I am not aware what kind of dress should be worn on such occasions."

Mo Roulan said openly. 

She had learned in the past two years. 

There was no shame in accepting that she didn't know some things. Those who humiliated her for that were fools and she should not feel ashamed because of fool people. 

Though she had been the Young Miss of Chi family, she had never attended any party as the one. They never kept any as they were always concerned about her mother. 

In her past life as well, she never knew about these things and was always humiliated because of her dressing sense when she went to such parties. 

That's why she said these words. 

He Zhuang looked relieved when he heard these words. 

The girl was not insensible. 

"I will arrange the dress."

He Jian said before He Zhuang could say so. Therefore, He Zhuang nodded his head. 

After that, they had their dinner in silence. 

The three days passed quite peacefully for Mo Roulan. 

On the third day, she received a call from a woman who told her that she had been told by He Jian to contact her. 

Mo Roulan told the woman to come to He Mansion in the evening after her office hours ended. 

Tonight was the party. 

When Mo Roulan reached the mansion, the woman was already waiting with her staff for her. 

"Good evening, Mrs. He"1

Mo Roulan nodded her head.

"Good Evening."

The woman smiled and said 

"I have already prepared a very beautiful dress for Mrs. He. Would you like to wear it right now?"

Mo Roulan looked at the watch. Only an hour was left. 

He Jian had messaged her that he would pick her up at eight. So it would be better if she got ready.

"Yes"

She said and the woman asked one of the staff girls to unwrap the dress. 

When Mo Roulan saw the dress, she actually liked it. However, when she came out wearing it, the staff was mesmerized to see her.
