She Is Scared

Mo Roulan was now looking at the sky which was clouded. She licked her lips before she told him.

"He Jian…I love you but I am very scared."

"Scared?"

He Jian frowned. His fists were clenched tightly.

That was the last thing he wanted his girl to feel.

"What are you scared of?"

He asked in such a gentle voice as if he was afraid that Mo Roulan would shatter with his voice as well.

Mo Roulan closed her eyes as she breathed deeply. She was being honest with him for the first time.

"I am scared that …I will lose everything if I gave myself freedom to love you. I am scared that…even if you will turn your back on me when I will need you. I am scared that…someone will harm my family because they want you. There are so many other things that scares me."

He Jian fell silent for a few moments again.

Did all these fears of Mo Roulan stemmed from what happened two years ago? He wondered suddenly.

Because there seemed to be more to it.

Was it because of what happened to in her mother's first marriage?

He Jian's heart softened when he thought this.

"I won't ever turn my back on you…."

He said firmly.

"Even if you turn your back to me, Lanlan…I won't ever turn my back to you."

"I will protect you and your family. I will eradicate the fears you have. So please let yourself fall in love with me. Because I have already fallen and that too very hard."

Mo Roulan opened her eyes when she heard him.

But she never said anything.

Neither did he say anything.

Mo Roulan left the premises after Rose left in her bridal dress with Xavier in a car.

Her eyes were red and swollen and her colleagues were surprised to see her sudden state. However, seeing her emotionless face no one dared to ask anything.

The whole ride back to hotel was a silent one.

Before going to her room, Mo Roulan only said

"We will leave tomorrow morning."

And then she left from there.

After stepping inside her room, she didn't order dinner and went to bed directly.

It was around midnight when Mo Roulan suddenly heard a knock on the door.

Mo Roulan frowned as she got down from the bed and walked to the bed. Who could be there at such a time?

As she thought, she opened the door and the sight left her completely shocked.

"He Jian…"

He Jian smiled but it soon disappeared when he noticed her red and swollen eyes.

"What are you doing here?"

Mo Roulan asked with wide eyes that were filled with shock.

He Jian however stepped forward instead of answering her question and caressed the area under her eyes.

He felt distressed even at the thought of her shedding tears.

"You must be tired. Come…let's sleep."

Holding Mo Roulan's hand, He Jian closed the door and then walked towards the bed.

"You didn't answer me."

Mo Roulan asked as she saw sat down on the bed and then saw him lying down by her side. He even forwarded his hand to her and signed her to lay her head on his arm.

  She hesitated and looked at him waiting for her answer.

"You were crying. I couldn't stop myself from coming."

He Jian said and then signed her to lie down in his arms again.

Mo Roulan looked blank for a moment on hearing the answer before she did as he signed.

Lying down in his arms, she pondered on his words again.

"Sleep"

He Jian said in his deep voice and Mo Roulan closed her eyes.

Surprisingly, she fell asleep easily.

The next morning, Mo Roulan stirred when she felt a soft touch on her forehead. She opened her eyes and looked confused for a moment when she saw He Jian looming over her face.

"Wake up Lanlan, we have a flight to catch."

He Jian stroked her hair as he smiled seeing her confused expression.

Only then Mo Roulan remembered that they were supposed to leave. Her eyes went to the alarm clock and they widened instantly.

"I had put an alarm yesterday morning. Why did it not ring? I still need to pack my bags. How will I catch the flight in time now!"

Mo Roulan was feeling so panicked that she was about to fall down from the bed because of her foot still stuck in the blanket in hurry.1

Fortunately, He Jian caught her by her waist and held her firmly.

"Clam down…everything is done. I have packed the bags already. You just need to bath and get ready. We still have an hour. Come…"

He Jian pulled her feet out of the blanket carefully and then made her walk to that bathroom.

"Go and get ready."

Mo Roulan got inside the bathroom in a daze.

He Jian shook his head with a smile on his lips and closed the door for her.

Inside the bathroom, Mo Roulan realized that he had even put her clothes there for her.

When she saw her undergarments with the clothes, she blushed furiously but then patted her cheeks.

'It's okay…no big thing. They are just clothes.'

She said to herself and then picked her brush to brush her teeth. 

Around half an hour later, when she stepped outside the bathroom, she saw He Jian putting the suitcase down from the bed.

He had indeed readied everything.

Looking at the watch, she also walked to the dressing table and combed her hair.

Twenty minutes later when they stepped outside the room and went down in the open hall, her colleagues were already waiting for her.

A few of them recognized He Jian instantly. After all, the video from a few days back was seen by them as well.

The whispers started between the girls who suddenly seemed excited as they looked at Mo Roulan and He Jian.

"Ah…is it what I am thinking? Mr. He missed Miss Mo a lot and hence came here. That is so cute."

The other girl was about to say something in the same lines when her eyes fell on the frown Mo Roulan carried on her forehead.

She immediately shut her mouth.

However, unlike how Mo Roulan was frowning, He Jian looked happy on hearing the same words.

Yes, he and his Lanlan looked cute with each other.

However, he stiffened when he saw the frown on Mo Roulan's forehead.

Did she not like that they were called cute?
