Going Back
The next day, during the breakfast, Lin Qianru told Mo Roulan that she should go back now.
Mo Roulan frowned and said
"I want to stay Mom."
"Then you should stay."
Lin Qianru smiled and said gently. She herself was unable to part away with her daughter. But her eyes went to He Jian.
Towards He Jian, her attitude was still lukewarm.
"But He Jian should leave. There must be a lot of work pending in his office."
He Jian halted when he felt Mo Roulan's gaze on himself. Her eyes were filled with guilt as she thought how she didn't even think about it.
"Yes, Mom is right. You should leave."
However, He Jian was not happy at all.
He didn't want to leave when Mo Roulan is going to stay here.
They had been away from each other for a whole month. It was so difficult for him. He survived because of those constant calls but here he could not demand the same.
He knew that she would spend time with her family after he will leave.
"No…I am handling everything well from here. You don't need to worry."
He said calmly but Chi Rong smiled understanding hidden thoughts very well.
It seemed that even Lin Qianru understood those thoughts because her eyes stayed on He Jian for longer.
A moment later, she looked at her daughter and said reluctantly
"You should also leave, Roulan. Didn't you say you have a job, now?"
Mo Roulan was reluctant but she bit her lips when she remembered that she had a job as well.
She seem to forget everything since the moment her mother woke up.
Seeing the disappointed expression on her face, Lin Qianru patted her hand and told her.
"Your dad and me will return to China with Mo Chen in a week."
Even the Lin family members raised their heads when they heard this.
They looked happy but the atmosphere went somber when Lin Qianru continued
"I still need a legal divorce from Wang Weimin. It won't work without going to China."
Mo Roulan's face went blank and she nodded her head.
Indeed.
"Then we will leave tomorrow. I will wait for you, Mom."

.
Hence, the next morning, Mo Roulan left for China with He Jian.
On the next day, Lin Yu was also going to leave as Lin family business also needed him. Before Mo Roulan left, he patted her head and told her.
"You have three brothers. All of them are elder than you. I will introduce you to them soon."
Mo Roulan smiled and accepted Lin Yu's goodwill.
She was going to maintain relations with her mother's family if they were good. There was no harm in that.
Old Lady Lin and Old Master Lin were to leave for China with Lin Qianru only.
When they reached City H and walked towards the car waiting for them, Mo Roulan was surprised to see He Mingzhu inside the car.
"Mom…did you come alone?"
She was worried because the doctor had said that it was not good for He Mingzhu to go out alone.
Even He Jian had a deep frown on his forehead as he looked around and asked
"Where is Dad?"
He was sure that his father must be around. He would not leave his mother alone.
However, he was surprised when his mother said
"Your father is not here. I sneaked out."
He Mingzhu said calmly but He Jian and Mo Roulan looked at each other. Immediately, He Jian called his father.
"Ah what is he doing?"
He Mingzhu asked as she saw her son walking a few steps away.
Mo Roulan however looked at her with lips pressed in a thin line and said a moment later
"Mom, how can you do this? How worried Dad must be?"
He Mingzhu was happy that Mo Roulan was finally calling He Zhuang Dad as well. But when she pondered on Mo Roulan's words, she sighed and said
"He needs a break from me. He continues to stay with me for the whole day. I asked him to go to the office but he doesn't listen to me…said that he will pass everything to He Jian. My son will be so burdened with such a huge company if he was alone."
He Mingzhu frowned deeply when she said these words.
Mo Roulan opened her mouth but in the end, closed it when He Mingzhu suddenly held her hand and said softly
"And can't I even come to pick up my son and daughter-in-law now? I know what scares you all…but I want to come out of my fears."
He Mingzhu had a lost look in her eyes.
She didn't like it when her nightmares woke her up at night and He Zhuang would also be forced to wake up to comfort her.
Initially, she did have some complaints.
She felt upset thinking that He Zhuang never looked for her. But He Zhuang told her that he did and when he couldn't find her, he gave up.
He Mingzhu had been upset but she understood slowly.
Their love had not been ripe enough for He Zhuang to believe that she would choose him and their son instead of money.1
Her mother had died even after undergoing the surgery but she never confessed her feelings to He Zhuang.
Neither of them were at fault but she could see that He Zhuang blamed himself.
She could see the guilt in her eyes when she would wake up from her nightmares at night.
She also felt upset when He Zhuang wouldn't leave her alone even for a minute. She was not that fragile.
Yes, she feared the approach of strangers but she wanted to return to her normal life but with how careful He Zhuang always was, she was afraid that she won't be able to do so soon.
"I never wanted to be a burden on my loved ones."
He Mingzhu whispered to herself.
All her life she had been very much independent.
