Peace was Never an Option I

"Are you okay now?"2

"Mm."

The figure nodded its tiny head.

"Will you consider letting go?"

".............no...….don't leave me too.... Please."

A quivering child, Wang Ling was left unable to move. He sighed, looked up at the white background of this world and just the figure let it all out.

Time passed; Wang Ling simply waited for his body to regenerate. Though he's currently conscious in this mindscape doesn't mean Wang Ling could just force himself awake.

[I'll stay here, for the time being, I already trained myself to react when there's a risk to my life anyway.] No matter how trained a person was, they would not be able to protect themselves when they're asleep.

If he estimated it right, Wang Ling had been sleeping for at least a couple of days now.

Besides, for him resting in this manner would be much more beneficial. Wang Ling had noticed that every time he fights and experiences a beat down, his body experiences an increase in terms of cultivation.

Though he's not exactly sure why just yet.

Wang Ling did not know of this but the Overlord Meridians had shown its varied uses, it increases his regeneration and with the Overhaul Phoenix Rebirth body, this body grows stronger with every beat up.

Right now, after the grueling fight with the demons, he's beginning to experience another metamorphosis.

Wang Ling was growing stronger without him even knowing, but this fact would be discovered by his observant eyes soon enough. At the moment, he's just letting his body recover, he's keen on breaking through the next stage in a few days too.

[I can't dally here while I don't even know the situation of my family…. I'm also worried about the appearance of the Abyssal Demons; they might continue spreading if nothing is done. The death of the Gray Figure must be dealing with —]

Wang Ling's train of thought was suddenly cut short as he felt someone prying at his body, without a moment's notice he awakened with beastly eyes, "The hell do you think you're doing to me?"

===

"Thank you for saving this village from the Beyonders. Our forces had been too stretched out lately so we failed to send out proper help to everyone below us."

"Ah, no, my Master and I were simply passing through… you need not thank us."

In the physical world, Leo was currently in the middle of panicking because right in front of him were people man from the Lopus Family.

Leo was currently staying in a house provided by the village that Wang Ling saved. When Leo awoke, he was already in this house, he and his Master apparently were both unconscious after fighting the Abyssal Demons.

Leo and Wang Ling had been hailed as the saviors of this small village – though the fact was that Leo was knocked out by Wang Ling.

The members of the Lopus Family arrived two days later; they were expecting a clean-up but were surprised to see the village survived.

The villagers pointed at Leo and Wang Ling as their savior bringing us to the current situation.

The Lopus Family was someone who held tremendous power around these parts. Leo had brought Wang Ling here while he was unconscious.

He thought that this would be the last place the Sect would come looking because of their involvement with the Lopus Family's Young Master's death.

This place was also away from the Lopus Family's main headquarters making their number thin. This place was mostly occupied by small villages that pay tribute to them and nothing more.

However, the situation suggests the opposite of what he had hoped.

[Because of the Abyssal Demon's appearance, they sent people here to check… Master is currently incapacitated and they don't seem to recognize me so I just have to bear with it.]

He wanted to keep his wits with him, the young Leo wished to become a man so that the Lopus Family would not be able to get anything out of him, yet a boy would always be a boy.

Without anyone needing to look too hard his face detailed what he was feeling, anxiousness could be seen on the young boy's face.

"Please, do not be alarmed, we are not here to cause you any trouble. Like I said I am here to thank you and your master. Ah, I heard your Master was injured after fighting with several Beyonders on his own, this man with me is Alchemist Jiru, we can have him look at your Master's situation."

This member before him had a square jaw and a scar going down his left eye. The other two behind him looked like a lackey and a doctor. As to why Leo knew it was a doctor, the insignia of the Alchemy Tower was inscribed on his clothes.

[A Rampaging Phoenix carrying a black and white sword and a single star… he's actually a One Star Alchemist?]

Seeing this, Leo lowered his head saying, "Ple-please do. My master is over that room."

"Alchemist Jiru, if you could please?"

"Yes, I understand."

Leo was prepared to stand up and lead the way, but Alchesmit Jiru simply raised his hands.

"You need not stand young man; I can find my own way." Alchemist Jiru did not bother having Leo stand and lead. This Alchemist could see that the young man's injury had yet to heal completely.

Alchemist Jiru entered Wang Ling's room silently.

Seeing this, Leo was now assured that Wang Ling would be okay.

Anyone could call themselves Alchemist, create a pill, and slap yourself with the title. If you work in some backwater then becoming a local alchemist was enough,

However, those who wish to rise through the ranks and gain fame, fortune, money, and respect, then they must join the Alchemist Tower.

As for the Alchemist Tower, Leo did not know much about it but from what he heard its reach span all across different worlds. It was an organization that could eradicate a world.

There were talks about its leader's flames strong enough to refine entire worlds to pills if she wishes to. Leo did not believe such boasts but the fact remained they're a power beyond imagination.

With such an organization behind them, the Alchemists who gain a star would be respected no matter where they go.

They were so revered that many practically worship them.

[If someone like that looks after my Master I'm sure everything would be fine–]

BOOM!

The walls suddenly collapsed, and everyone saw a young man holding the revered Alchemist by the neck.
