Genesis VI

Devil's Disciple this was the technique they were bestowed upon by Wang Ling. A vial of his blood to strengthen the remaining cultivators at the stage of Ancestors. The vial of his blood consisted of both lineages, and whatever they are most suitable with would get a part of the two lineages.2

The idea was taken when Wang Ling gave Chang Ping a piece of his blue qi. For a moment she unleashed power that was many times her own but at the cost of her sanity and rationality. Wang Ling couldn't split his essence, or rather he chose not to.

The danger of weakening himself would severely change the course of the future, but drawing blood from his own was different. His blood was infinite, but only a few could accept his blood, Chang Ping was one of them.

From the blood she was given, she extracted two wings from a single vial. She had not finished digesting the vial of blood so right below the second wing was a smaller wing growing still.

These wings were a symbol of the Devil Lineage. But, they were not true Devils, they were Mortals borrowing the power of Devils, and one day. their wings would wilt and wither.

[Two and a half wings… that should supplement my fatigue. If I had just decided to confront her, then I wouldn't be in this situation. Tsk, I didn't want to use this before I completely digested the blood, but I have no choice. I'll take her down with Devil's Disciple and then take her out of the Abyss… this place is messing with her. five seconds have passed… I only need Twenty seconds to subdue her.]

Devil's Disciple, had a limit of ten minutes of total usage. It did not matter how much of the lineage one could pull out or how many times its user activated and deactivated the lineage. Once the lineage was activated and the collective timer reached ten minutes, the bloodline would disappear.

Five seconds passed for Chang Ping and when the sixth seconds arrived, the ground caved underneath Chang Ping's foot. An explosion of power catapulted Chang Ping right in front of Qinyang and passed her.

[This speed! I… I can't control it.]

"You're still trying to get away!? Get back here!" Qinyang was taken aback by the sudden increase of the "Revenant's" speed. But, that would not be the end of it. Seeing the "Revenant's strange and perplexing ability to increase its speed, Qinyang only felt her heart spike in excitement. She wanted to fight, to challenge herself and break the barrier that's limiting her, [This new challenger… she'll bring me to new and greater heights!]

This desire drove her to move forward, to strike for greatness just like those before her.

The key to improvement was now present right before eyes. The pressure that could squeeze

[She's coming after me.] Qinyang had not moved from her spot, but Chang Ping could tell that the other was about to go after her. Her sensitivity to the air had changed since she unfurled her wings, [This flood of information… it's… overwhelming.]

"Twilight Sword—"

It was a wave of information and while Chang Ping was busy processing them all, Qinyang appeared right above her, ready to kill her.

The sword was wrapped in compressed qi as well as peak Sword Qi. She noticed it too late, and with a flap of her wings, Chang Ping rotated her body.

Slash!

Blood flew across as her left arm was almost taken. Qinyang's sword reached its peak and touched the ground.

Fwu—BOOM!

An explosion of qi followed and the ground split the ground, creating a canyon in mere moments. Chang Ping reached out her hand towards Qinyang, but she was blocked and with her broken arms Chang Ping endured Qinyang's kick that sent to the end of the canyon thousands of meters away and hundreds of meters deep.

In the crevices of the Canyon, Chang Ping's wounds healed thanks to her lineage.

—Three and a half wings— thirty seconds have passed —

[The desperation is also helping me grow… but… I can't keep up with Qinyang. That sword of hers… it's the technique that Master developed. I thought it was simply a watered down version of the Blood Seeking Sword… but… it's the opposite. That thing… is dangerous. I heard he created it to hide, but this thing… It's the reflection of the Blood Seeking Sword.]

While Blood Seeking Sword wanted its enemies to know its presence, or better yet, it wanted the curse of being a killer to cling on the minds of enemies and slow them down.

Down to its very core, the Blood Seeking Sword reeked off death. If injured by the killing intent, it would be hard even if one wanted to regenerate their flesh. The killing intent had to be expunged from their bodies to be healed completely or else it would eat at the flesh and the soul. That's the current form of the Blood Seeking Sword that Wang Ling cultivated for thousands of years.

[This Twilight Sword is very different. No, it might be the polar opposite. Master created it to hide, but I think when he was creating it, he internalized in creating the exact opposite of his sword… the Twilight Sword abandons Master's very swordsmanship.

The sword was too silent, no, it flowed with the world hiding it from the victim.  It hides between the flow, and then strengthens itself by gathering qi and then compressing them into the blade.

Not only that, but, the effect of Blood Seeker's true nature of death was also being reversed. She could feel it in her bones, no, in her flesh. That sensation that's pulling her essence to regenerate the wound she sustained, [My wounds are being healed at an unnatural rate.]

Chang Ping could feel her flesh forcibly regenerating, sapping her strength, [Even if this is outside, the effects would be the same. No, it might even be worse as it might aggregate the effects and sap me of my strength even more. This sword wasn't this strong before… Master showed it to me and it wasn't this polished… that could only mean….]

Qinyang slowly flew down from above and looked at the "Revenant's" wounds. She did not immediately engage in combat but instead waited for "it" to regenerate and recover. She could tell that the sword her Father gave her was allowing the Revenant to recover from its wound, and once it did, she would fight it again.

Chang Ping could see it, the hunger in Qinyang's eyes. It was as though she was looking at a tasty prey and was waiting for her to recover.

[She perfect the Sword that even her Father hadn't fully committed to.] Chang Ping got up from the group, her wounds already healed. She brought out her sword, the crimson sword that she forged with her heart and soul.

It hummed in hunger for blood and defiance of the strong.

"It's so unfair~ even his daughter is so talented. I want that talent too… but, Master has already given me so much… with these wings… this sword… this technique… you're not the only one who trained to get as close to him as possible."

Chang Ping had been trying to grab his back and the reality was that, when he appeared before Wang Ling again, the power she thought would allow her to stand beside him was now meaningless.

"But… I guess… that's my fault. Once I became the Sword God, I became complacent. Only these few months did I realize this and saw a change in me. You think you're hungry to improve? Don't make me laugh… I've been hungry to even take half a step forward for thousands of years!"

Chang Ping's qi shot up to the skies. Her killing intent slowly became more and more compressed, and her wings was accelerating its growth.

"You think you're the one who'll use me to improve!? I am Chang Ping! You're far too young to even think of surpassing me! You Godly Beings are not the only one who have the potential! Don't you dare look down on me! We mortals are going to survive!"

In that state of alertness, Chang Ping smiled with madness tainting her lips.

Chang Ping then stabbed herself in the heart. A second later, her entire body exploded with a fountain of blood.
