A few days after Lin Xiaomeng's was poisoned by an unfamiliar maid, the Lin residence, aside from Lin Feng and Lin Xiaofei, had no idea about what truly happened. Both uncle and niece didn't tell anyone as though nothing happened at all. It was not only to not make rumors outside the residence but also to guard against others.0

As the health of the great general was returning back, there were some people who couldn't do anything about their situation. And those are the two spoiled princesses of the Heavenly family, Princess Gao and Princess Zhou.

Rumors said that the two princesses were betrayed by their loyal maid who poisoned them before disappearing without a trace. Such misfortune could easily be remedied with medicine or antidote. The sound of a porcelain being dashed to the ground was heard inside the White Flower courtyard where Princess Gao resides. The servants and maids around lowered their necks and stealthily retreated a few steps back but couldn't get out in fear that they would be the target to their princess' anger.

"Sl*t! How dare that wh*re do this to me! Come and get some guards to capture that maid and bring her to this princess! I'd like to know how much courage she had inside her to do this to me!" Princess Gao shrieked. She had just woken up after a few days of suffering from the first stage of the poison.

Thankfully, the Imperial palace has countless capable doctors who were able to reduce the spreading of the poison inside the princesses' bodies. But the poison was still like a ticking bomb inside their body, waiting for it to reach past the time limit and erupt inside them. 

Since she had just woken up, Princess Gao had no idea about the sudden and mysterious disappearance of the maid who poisoned them. Thus, the first reaction she expressed after sleeping a few days was to scream and curse out.

"Your highness, please quell your anger. It'll be bad for your health if you continue being mad. I'll send someone to fetch some guards to look for this evil maid." Lin Lang, Princess Gao's personal and wet nurse said before bowing to leave.

Hearing this, Princess Gao's rage was still not reduced and it even increased by a lot.

She continued to scream until a middle-aged woman and a young man in his early twenties stood before her.

"Mother! Brother!" Princess Gao cried upon seeing.

"Yan Fei'er. How could this happen to you?" The middle-aged woman rushed to take the young princess to her bosom and cried in grievances. 

"It was that sl*t's fault! I would've never thought that she would betray me like this. If I had known, I would've let her live before letting her watch her family and lover chopped into thousand pieces!" Princess Gao was furious.

Concubine Min patted her daughter's head gently and tried to pacify her lest it triggers the poison inside her daughter. Fortunately, Princess Gao listened to her mother despite the mountainous rage she was feeling inside her heart.

"Brother, you must do everything and avenge me!" Princess Gao turned to her brother, Fifth Prince, Yu Xuan Li.

Contrary to her sister's spoiled and reckless behavior, Yu Xuan Li has a calculative mind. Although he was also angry at the fact that his younger sister was poisoned by this evil maid, as a man who witnessed a lot of insidious things inside the palace, he could tell that things weren't that simple. He knew that there must be an underlying danger and scheme that surrounds this event.

At first, Yu Xuan Li suspected Princess Zhou since even the closest sisters and friends could betray each other for the sake of gaining the upper hand, however, as soon as he heard that Princess Zhou suffered the same fate as his sister, this thought was soon thrown away from his mind.

He could only now suspect that someone more wicked and powerful was behind this incident. And that person must have a deeper intention. As for what kind of intention, Yu Xuan Li was still unsure of it.

"Don't worry, sister. My best guards are already searching the entire capital in search of this maid. It's just that I am quite confused and have no answer to my questions. Yu Xuan Li started.

"What do you mean, brother? If you have something to ask, just say so and I'll answer it." Princess Gao replied. The man before her was after all her elder brother from the same mother and father. And seeing him seriously saying this, she spared no effort to act outrageously.

"Well… Sister, before this happened. Did you perhaps do anything to this maid? That harbored her hatred for her to do this to you?" Yu Xuan li carefully asked his sister to not agitate her.

Princess Gao sighed and almost rolled her eyes, "Brother, you already know how things work here in the palace. Of course, other than grabbing her family like any other maids and servants in the palace in the neck, I did nothing wrong." 

Concubine Min and Yu Xuan Li were of course very familiar with the methods of the imperial family. In order for them to ensure that their closest aides, servants, and maids will never betray them, they obviously took hostage of something important from them and threatened each of these pitiful subjects to do the Heavenly family's bidding. 

This kind of method was done decades back and very efficient to order these slaves around.

But if it were so, how could this maid brazenly bite the hand that feeds it? Knowing that Princess Gao had a hold on her family and lover, it was quite confusing why would she take the risk and betray the princess?

This ultimately leads the Fifth Prince to another thought.

Yu Xuan Li stared at his sister with a frown and asked as if he was enlightened, "Did you perhaps kill her family?"

"So what if I did?" Princess Gao's expression and voice held no remorse.
