After he called her sister-in-law, everyone looked at him in shock then looked at Lin Xiaofei then back at him. It was a sight to see. But half a day has already passed since that event yet he could still feel everyone's eyes on him.

Ni Zixuan glared at him. "Fool. They're not looking at you."

"Ah?" Qi Yandi blinked.

"Look behind us," said Ni Zixuan. He pointed his thumb to his back where two outstanding figures were walking behind them.

The two were none other than Lin Xiaofei and Qu Xing Xu. They had been inseparable since her arrival. With this kind of affectionate display, everyone's doubts and suspicion about their actual relationship being forced or being strictly business were dispelled. It seems that the two were very harmonious and any awkwardness was not seen at all.

Behind Ni Zixuan and Qi Yandi, Qu Xing Xu and Lin Xiaofei ignored every other existence around them. Qu Xing Xu happily said, "My wife is very popular. Everyone is watching you."

"They're not watching me. They're spectating our relationship," said Lin Xiaofei. She already knew that everyone was curious about her ever since she made her appearance in front of everyone. However, she also realized that everyone was trying to see how deep their relationship was and was probably waiting for her to make a fool of herself.

Glancing at the man walking beside her, Lin Xiaofei's eyes twitched. With how much he was smiling, people would assume that he came out victorious from a war. However, in Lin Xiaofei's eyes, he looked more like a tiger pouncing and jumping about.

Qu Xing Xu also knew that everyone was spectating them. However, since when did he bother about how people viewed him or their opinion about him or their marriage? No matter what everyone said, he didn't care. What was most important was that they were living a passionate life as a married couple.

But honestly, it irritated him how these people have been staring at his wife. Should we pluck everyone's eyes so they won't be able to look at her anymore? This idea was definitely attractive for Qu Xing Xu that a sinisterous smile was already blooming at the corner of his lips.

And as though knowing exactly what he was thinking, Lin Xiaofei nonchalantly commented, "Don't do it. It's a waste of effort and people. The war still hasn't ended."

Qu Xing Xu felt his pinky finger twitch. He innocently glanced at her and said, "What are you talking about?"

Lin Xiaofei snorted and gave him a sideways glance. Did he actually think she didn't know what he was thinking? She spent a lot of time being with him and also wracking her brains to figure him out. How could she not know what exactly her husband was thinking when his eyes glowed a tiny bit when he glanced around.

After separating with Ni Zixuan and Qi Yandi on the way, Qu Xing Xu took Lin Xiaofei to his personal courtyard. Actually, he initially intended to change his courtyard after it was contaminated by others, but Lin Xiaofei stopped him by telling him it was unnecessary to change it just because Wu Xuanyi entered his outer courtyard.

Qu Xing Xu had severe mysophobia. He didn't like sharing his things to others and if others did try to take his things or touch them, he would either get a new one or burn them as well as punishing the person or thing that corrupted his belonging.

For example, this courtyard that the city leader made him use while staying in the city. Wu Xuanyi entered his courtyard without his permission and even tried to seduce him there. How could he not have the desire to change out of it?

However, since Lin Xiaofei already said it didn't matter and he shouldn't try being too picky about things, he reluctantly let it go.

After they had seated, Lin Xiaofei poured the tea on their cups and said, "It has been over a month. I hope you didn't forget about what we talked about."

Qu Xing Xu was about to drink his tea when he paused upon hearing her words. It took him about a few seconds to figure out what she was talking about. 

Before he left to battle with the Chu empire, the two of them had a deal. If he doesn't manage to come back within two months, Lin Xiaofei will assume he is dead and look for a prospective marriage partner.

With a dark look on his eyes, he put down his cup and said, "I'm still alive and well as you can see. So, the deal is off."

Lin Xiaofei ignored his bad mood and shrugged. "Yes, you are very alive. But the war is still going on. In a few weeks, the two months deadline will be over."

Qu Xing Xu replied with renewed determination, "...then, I'll end it as soon as possible."

If it wasn't for Lin Xiaofei reminding him of what they talked about before he left, he would have already forgotten about that. While staying here, he already planned to prolong the war in order to exhaust both the empire's forces and money. It will also allow him to avoid the troublesome things in the capital.

But of course, both of them knew that their deal was just something that they both agreed to out of concern for each other. However, it still left a bad taste in his mouth whenever he thought that Lin Xiaofei might think that he wasn't capable enough to end a war he started. 

If only he could use his power to burn the Chu empire's army. He could use the Underworld Ghost Fire to obliterate them in no time. Then, nothing would be left but their ashes.
