Su Qianxun felt an ache in her chest. 'Just a maid.' As it turned out, she was just a maid to him. Tears suddenly brimmed out of her eyes. She immediately raised her hand to wipe it away… 

"But this matter concerns the reputation of Jin Garden as well as Miss Lan's life. I think it calls for a thorough investigation before a decision is made."

"What investigation? Things are as bright as daylight!" Long Aotian's glare fell on the petite figure who was kneeling on the ground with her back straight. There was an intensely murderous look in his eyes.

"There are surveillance cameras everywhere in Jin Garden. Everything that happens here is recorded!" As Long Sijue spoke, he raised his voice and became more firm. His facial expression turned slightly grimmer as well.

Lan Qincheng heard what he said. A hint of guilt flashed past her eyes. She did not expect that there were surveillance cameras in the back garden. She picked this spot on purpose because it seemed private. 

"Daddy, let it go. I'm alright anyway. I'll be more careful next time. Since Su Qianxun is a staff at Jin Garden, for Jue's sake, just leave this to him. I'm freezing. Can you take me home first?"

Mr. Lan understood his daughter very well. He had known that it was his daughter's tactic the entire time. So, given that her scheme might be exposed, he could not possibly keep pursuing this matter. He snorted coldly. "Sijue, I believe that you'll do right by Qincheng! I'll leave punishing this woman up to you!"

"I'll deal with this matter properly," Long Sijue replied flatly. 

Su Qianxun continued to kneel with her back facing those people. She could sense the hateful, intense glares on her back. She heard footsteps behind her and the sound of the wheelchair, until silence was all that remained.

She knew that everyone had left. 

Storm, who was lying on his stomach in a corner quietly, got up and walked over. He lay down beside Su Qianxun. 

Su Qianxun lowered her head and looked at the large dog that had saved her life. She reached over to stroke his head. "Thank you."

Storm heard that she was speaking to him. He immediately stood up on his hind legs and stuck out his tongue, as though he was trying to please her. 

Su Qianxun simply sat down on the ground. Her gaze fell on the face of this large dog. She suddenly thought that this dog looked rather familiar, but she could not remember where she had seen him at this moment. 

"Su Qianxun, the young master ordered you to keep kneeling and reflect on your behavior. You're not allowed to get up without his order!" the butler walked over and said to her expressionlessly. 

"I didn't do anything wrong. Why should I reflect on my behavior?" Su Qianxun turned around and said angrily. She no longer had the time to try to recall when she had seen such a huge dog. 

"This is the young master's order!"

Su Qianxun was speechless. 

In the living room, Long Aotian, Xiao Mingyan and Mr. Lan kept discussing Long Sijue and Lan Qincheng's future engagement. Their original plan was to decide when the engagement party should be held by today. 

Long Aotian's and Mr. Lan's mobile phones started ringing. They both had urgent matters to deal with, so they had to leave.

When Lan Qincheng left the house, she was very reluctant. She kept gazing at Long Sijue lovingly, but Long Sijue did not spare her another glance.

When Lan Qincheng saw that he was being so indifferent towards her, her heart sank. She knew very well that Long Sijue was angry at her for setting Su Qianxun up just now!

Dejected, she followed her father and got into the car in a daze. All she could do was to leave Long Sijue alone for the time being. 

After they left, Long Sijue immediately said to Xiao Mingyan, "I'll let the driver take you home!"
