When Su Qianxun carried two bowls of noodles upstairs, Long Sijue was smoking in the study room. As he saw her walk in with a tray, there was a look of surprise in his profound black eyes. But it was almost unnoticeable behind the clouds of smoke.2

Ever since she had a miscarriage, it was the first time she came to see him.

Su Qianxun carried the tray to the desk and put down the two bowls of noodles. When she saw that the ashtray was filled with cigarette butts, she furrowed her eyebrows. She barely hesitated for a moment before she took away the cigarette between his fingers and said, "Don't smoke so much. It's not good for your body."

Long Sijue fixed his gaze on the fair young woman before him. His Adam's apple bobbed slightly. He felt a surge of warmth in his chest for some unknown reason.

Su Qianxun sensed his passionate and attentive gaze. Her fair, small face slowly turned red. She said, "I told the kitchen not to cook us anything this afternoon. Let's eat noodles for lunch?"

"Um," Long Sijue replied.

The young woman immediately smiled with delight. She dragged the chair that was at the other side of the desk over to sit down beside him. She said, "I made dry noodles with soybean paste. Taste them and tell me how it is."

Like a robot, Long Sijue did whatever she said. He was about to start eating, but Su Qianxun quickly said, "You need to stir the sauce and the noodles before eating."

Long Sijue's hand froze. He obviously had no idea what to do with the noodles. Su Qianxun immediately got up to help him. She stirred the contents evenly with her own chopsticks and did so attentively. "Alright. It's good to go."

Long Sijue watched the young woman return to her seat. He gazed at her black irises that contrasted with the whites of her eyes. There was an expectant look in her eyes. He lowered his head and took a bite.

Su Qianxun stirred her own bowl of noodles as she stared at him. She asked, "Do they taste alright?"

"They're very tasty."

Long Sijue usually did not care much about food, but he found everything she cooked incredibly delicious.

Su Qianxun heard what he said and smiled with glee. "I was worried that you won't like it. It's great that you do."

Hearing that, Long Sijue froze for a moment. He knew that the sight of soup and liquid food made her stomach churn. Therefore, even though he wanted to feed her some herbal soup to replenish her health, he did not order the kitchen to brew her any.

Seeing the bright smile on her small face, Long Sijue's heart immediately softened. Ever since the baby and Long Xiaoxun died, it was the first time he had seen her smile.

As he stared at her, Su Qianxun felt embarrassed. She quickly lowered her head and started eating.

After the two of them finished eating, Su Qianxun cleared the dirty utensils. A moment later, she came back and handed him a cup of tea.

"Young master, the director of the advertisement called me on the phone today. It's regarding the part I earned after dancing with you at the audition… He asked me to head over and get ready for the shoot."

Hearing what she said, Long Sijue felt as though someone had poured a basin of water on him. His heart immediately became chillingly cold.

As expected, she made him noodles because she had other intentions.

If she did not need to ask him for a favor, she would probably still be ignoring him. She would never have cooked him noodles and spared him a smile.

Su Qianxun saw that he had been silent the entire time and asked rather anxiously, "Please allow me to go. If you say yes, I'll do anything you want me to do. Please."

She was afraid that he would not agree. She had worked very hard for this. No matter what kind of challenges she faced, she must get her job done this time.

Long Sijue gazed at her small face that appeared as soft as tofu. Even though she was a frail little thing, her bright eyes were filled with determination.

He thought that this might not be a bad thing.
