Tang Zui could not stand getting such an attitude from her. The expression on her face and the look in her eyes had held him at a distance and threatened to lock him out of her heart. It seemed like she would never let him go anywhere near her again!2

He suddenly kissed her on the lips as hard as he could. No matter how hard Gu Mian pushed and punched him, Tang Zui refused to let go. 

Eventually, Gu Mian went limp and fainted. Tang Zui gasped and held his breath sharply. He immediately loosened his grip and held her up in his arms anxiously, calling her name, "Mian Mian? Mian Mian, wake up..."

When Su Qianxun arrived at Tang Zui's apartment, she pressed the doorbell. She waited for a long time, but no one opened the door for her. She took out her phone and called Gu Mian. 

Tang Zui answered the phone call and knew that Su Qianxun was outside. He immediately went to open the door. 

By then, Gu Mian had already regained consciousness. However, she had no energy to move, so she lay still in bed. 

When Su Qianxun entered the apartment, she looked at Tang Zui and asked, "Why didn't you go to work? Where's Mian Mian?"

"She's resting." Tang Zui looked at her nervously. 

"She's currently on her period, and she's anemic. Have you made her something to make up for her blood loss?" Su Qianxun looked at him and asked. 

"I… I told my family servant to brew some soup and send it over."

Su Qianxun immediately walked into the kitchen and took a look at the soup. She furrowed her brows slightly. "What the heck is this? She'll definitely hate the taste of this."

"Then, what kind of taste does she like?" Tang Zui quickly asked. 

"You're her husband. Why are you asking me?" Su Qianxun placed her hands on her waist and glared at him. She clearly thought that he was a subpar husband at best and was very displeased with him!

Tang Zui was dumbfounded.

"Good God!" Su Qianxun opened the fridge to check the ingredients, and it had none of the items she needed for her recipe. 

"What do we need?" Tang Zui asked eagerly.

"Everything… Get me a paper and a pen."

Tang Zui did as she said.

Su Qianxun wrote down every ingredient that they needed and handed the list to Tang Zui. "Shop for ingredients according to this list. We need all of them," she said.

"Okay." Tang Zui took the shopping list and left.

Su Qianxun poured Gu Mian a cup of brown sugar water and entered the bedroom. 

When Gu Mian saw her, tears filled her eyes and streamed down her cheeks. She sat up and threw her arms around her friend. "Qianxun, my life has been awfully rough. Sometimes I just want to give up on myself."

Hearing that, Su Qianxun felt an ache in her heart. "What? What happened? Did Tang Zui bully you?"

Gu Mian simply wept in silence. Tang Zui did not just bully her, Tang Zui nearly got her killed. 

Seeing that she was so upset, Su Qianxun did not stop her and let her cry. She simply held Gu Mian in her arms and patted her back gently. It was better for her to cry out loud when she was sad. She may feel a lot better afterward. 

At that moment, Gu Mian was like a child who had been bullied in school and finally got to see her parents. She was very upset as she cried. It was harrowing to watch.

Gu Mian cried for a while, and Su Qianxun kept her company patiently. When she went from bawling to sobbing quietly, Su Qianxun grabbed some tissues to wipe off the tears and snot on her face. 

"Can you tell me what's going on now?"

Su Qianxun saw that Gu Mian had become so pale and frail. She felt as though her heart was about to break into pieces. She chastised herself internally. Every time something bad happened to her, Mian Mian always stayed by her side. But now, Mian Mian appeared to be in distress, yet Su Qianxun had not done anything for her. 

"Qianxun, tell me, have I committed some unforgivable sin? Have I killed someone?" Gu Mian suddenly asked.
