"Ha…" Lu Yizhou let out a derisive sigh. Because he couldn't die of hunger, the simulator forced him to go insane? If the corruption process was completed, what kind of creature would he become? Otherwise, should he initiate self destruction to end everything before he turned deranged and hurt many people?

A faint guess popped up in Lu Yizhou's mind which served to consolidate the doubts he had had for a while. A series of familiar thumping footsteps entered his ears and the door slammed open, revealing Theodore with a beam on his face. "Raphael!"

Lu Yizhou moved to hide the cracked table behind him, his appearance had fortunately gone back to normal a moment ago otherwise there was no telling what Theodore would react if he saw it. "I've told you to knock first. That's a really bad habit of yours." He said helplessly.

Theodore blinked. Was it only his imagination that Raphael's eyes seemed to be black for a split second? Nah, he shook his head. Must be the trick of light. He sauntered into the room and closed the door as if he owned the place, scoffing. "What's wrong? Do you have something to hide?" He leaned forward teasingly. With his current height, Theodore could very much kiss the vampire if he had just tilted his head up a bit. However, he resisted the urge with all his might and opted to hug Lu Yizhou instead, nuzzling his head on the vampire's neck.

"You seem happy." Lu Yizhou said with lightened breath, trying to hide his black veined arms behind his back. "Is there good news?"

"Hmm-mm." Theodore giggled. "The deal we have been negotiating for two months—they have finally signed it! From now on, we will be able to cross the ocean to another continent! I, Theodore, have proved myself. The thing that my father can't do his whole life, I am able to achieve!"

Lu Yizhou was genuinely happy for him. "Congratulations. You have really worked hard."

Theodore chuckled bashfully and peeked through his eyelashes at the vampire who looked more gorgeous and captivating each day. How could he look even better than before? Theodore wouldn't get bored even if he could only look at him all day long. "I can only do my best because you're here with me. In the future, you will also accompany me, right?"

Moans spilled from his mouth as he felt himself reacting to the vampire's touch. They had clearly done it countless times before but still, Theodore couldn't bring himself to get used to it. The nervousness and elation he felt was exactly the same albeit he wasn't as scared to the point of crying anymore.

Theodore pulled away slightly, his breaths rapid and shallow. He slowly unbuttoned his shirt and pulled his collar aside. "You haven't been feeding for a few days, have you? Here, drink as much as you want." He enticed in a raspy, inviting tone. His breath still caught in his throat everytime he saw those silver eyes swirled into intense crimson. Shivers ran down his spine in thrill and excitement as he reached out to welcome Raphael into his arms, immersing himself in the mixture of pain and pleasure the other inflicted on his body. Never had he expected that one day, he would be so ecstatic to see a vampire craving his blood.

In the end, Theodore failed to realize that he hadn't got an answer to the question he asked earlier.

At the same time when Theodore was enjoying a moment of intimacy, another event took place in another city hundreds of miles away.

Jeffrey shook off the vampire's blood from his sword and wiped his face with his sleeves, grimacing. "What the hell is wrong with these vampires? Why are they going crazy all of a sudden?"

He had just returned from fetching water when all of a sudden, he sensed another presence inside the tent. The bucket crashed to the ground and water splashed out everywhere as Jeffrey pulled out his sword and pointed it at the intruder's chest. He couldn't believe his eyes and laughed incredulously. "I have been hunting you down for months and here you are, sending yourself right to me. To whom do I owe the honor, Miss Dhampir?"

Selina clenched her trembling fists and stared at Jeffrey straight, even with the tip of the blade against her chest. If the man had thrust it forward...she would have died in an instant. Shivers crawled down her spine and the tumultuous nerves made her teeth chatter violently. Her eyes were murky red with black veins spreading around it and huge, hideous fangs grew out of her mouth. Prolonged escape had covered her in all kinds of filth and her glossy hair was now a jumbled mess, dry and disgusting. She looked nothing like the delicate maiden she was a few months ago. With her breaths rapid, she said in an extremely coarse voice that sounded like that of a witch. "You're looking for the King, right? I—I know where he is."

"Oh?" Jeffrey raised a brow.

"Lower your sword first," Selina gritted her teeth.

Jeffrey let out a snort, his eyes ridiculing. "Do you think you're in a position to make a deal with me?" He smirked. "Know that you don't have a choice, Miss. You come here so naively… What do you expect? That I'll believe your words? What if you're lying to me?"

Selina's face paled and she cursed under her breath. Well, this kind of situation was what she had expected anyway. She knew perfectly how Jeffrey loathed vampires and showing up in front of him was just like a suicide act. However, she had no choice. She clenched her fists and blurted out in one breath. "The Vampire King—he's someone you know! You have met him before!"

Jeffrey's eyes widened in shock. "Someone I know…?" How could it be? If it was someone he knew, how could he not notice anything?!

"Yes." Fear, unwillingness and hatred bubbled in Selina's chest. She wasn't reconciled with her current situation and the only way she could get what she wanted was to...kill the King and replace him as the supreme monarch. "You know him. He's the servant of the young master whom you brought me to a few months ago. The extremely stunning man with midnight blue hair and silver hair. Does it ring a bell?"

Buzz echoed in Jeffrey's mind and he was so beside himself with amazement that he dropped his sword, making Selina sigh in relief. What did the woman say the Vampire King was? The man with midnight blue hair and silver eyes...he only knew one person who fit the description.

"...Raphael?" He whispered, disbelief was thick in his voice.

Why was he so shocked? Selina thought in bafflement. But she soon threw the question to the back of her mind. Without waiting for Jeffrey to regain his senses, she added. "I have an offer for you. I guarantee, it will be a win-win for both of us."
